Cuckoo Cottage

Excellent accommodation in a very quiet location with wonderful views from the patio.

Situated next door to the owners who were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Cottage was very well equipped and clean and a very useful welcome pack was provided for a cup of tea or coffee on arrival including excellent local biscuits! Perfect for couples. An ample, off road parking space was provided. Made a very convenient base for exploring the coast. There are a couple of supermarkets within a very short drive and there are many eating places and pubs in the general area. Very convenient for driving to Weymouth and beyond along the (A3157) picturesque coast road and, Lyme Regis and into Devon to the West. It was a very short walk into Bridport town centre via a hidden footpath a few yards from the cottage. Would not hesitate to return again or recommend to others.

Perfect base to explore Dorset. Bridport is a lovely friendly town with great pubs and restaurants. Check out the Arts Centre & Electric Palace for events. There is a secret path to walk into town which takes 6 mins so it’s not far at all. The owner will tell you about it. Only thing I would note is the cottage has a water softener - maybe take or buy bottled water if you drink a lot of water like we do.

The location is beautiful, the area quiet and peaceful. Parking on the doorstep is a big bonus. Inside, the cottage is immaculate. Everything needed is provided in the kitchen and lounge area and there were numerous charging ports upstairs and downstairs- very handy. A lovely welcome pack was provided . The cottage was beautifully warm and cosy - very pleasant to come home to on a cold, wet and windy evening after a day spent on the beach. The outside seating area was a nice place to relax on an unseasonally warm, sunny morning. Upstairs, the bedroom was lovely, with just the right amount of furniture and storage. It also has a wonderful view over the rooftops. The bedding was perfect for the time of year, the mattress and pillows were very comfortable! The bathroom was beautiful and spacious. Bath and separate shower is always a big plus! There was plenty of hot water at all times. Cuckoo cottage is a wonderful, relaxing place to stay and we will definitely return!! and the owners are very friendly, welcoming and helpful.

Delightful property nicely located in Bridport with easy access and parking.

With over 40 years holiday rental experience worldwide we expect most rentals to be lacking in some areas, but we couldn't fault Cuckoo Cottage, from the friendly welcome to the great condition of the cottage. Where ever we rent we tend to make full use of the kitchen so it made a pleasant change to find everything we needed.

A lovely sheltered patio to sit for coffee in the morning sun. Lots of hot water and a comfy bed. The cottage sits above Bridport on a hillside so lovely and quiet. We enjoyed our week very much.

Lovely peaceful position with wonderful views. Just a short walk into Bridport, lots of shops, restaurants, pubs and twice weekly market. The accommodation was superb. Comfortable, spotlessly clean, every detail carefully thought out to make for a relaxed holiday. So handy to have parking on the private drive. A great find, ideal for exploring the south coast and all it has to offer. Our hosts were brilliant. Helpful, friendly, on hand but not at all intrusive. Couldn’t have had a better experience. We hope one day to return and we will recommend this beautiful place to our friends.

It's clear Chris and Kevin devoted a great deal of attention to making this a really well equipped, comfortable and welcoming property with super views from the lounge and bedroom over to the surrounding hills. The location, whilst appearing to be some distance from the town shops and facilities, is actually just a short 10 minute walk away. An ideal base to explore Dorset and the surrounding counties. Many thanks once again Chris and Kevin for making this a very enjoyable stay, helped by the glorious weather. We hope to make a return visit at some time in the future.

Amazing view. Relaxing break away. The walk into town and West Bay is a lovely short trek, through the hills and along the river - not suitable for heels; sturdy walking shoes recommended.

The cottage is very well equipped. EXCEPTIONALLY clean, settled right in and felt at home. If you love the Jurassic Coast, here is the ideal base with the knowledege a parking space is reserved. I would highly recommend Cuckoo Cottage to all who are happy to drive, it is a little far to walk to a bus route for days out.

Cuckoo Cottage is a lovely, well appointed property in which to relax.

Quiet and peaceful yet within walking distance of the lovely market town of Bridport. A good uphill walk on the return journey but take your time and enjoy the surroundings and the views when you get to the top. Chris and Kevin are ideal hosts, welcoming, friendly and there if you need them but you don’t feel you are being watched. Would highly recommend this property.

Conveniently situated for Bridport town centre but at the same time well out of the noise etc. Also very well placed to explore Dorset. The owners were both very friendly and very helpful

A well maintained and extremely clean property, which has all mod cons necessary for an enjoyable stay, and within easy walking distance from the town centre, Set in a peaceful and quiet area it is an ideal place to come back to after a day out, Own parking space meant we could leave our car at the property and go where we wanted without it.

This is ideal for those who like a base to go from and explore areas of Dorset either by foot or bus if they don't want to use the car and go for a decent meal in the town from one of the many eating places

Owners were helpful and on hand to sort any problems; not that we had any. The cottage is ideally situated for a short walk into town and local amenities which includes a lovely restaurant 'Olive Tree'. A well situated cottage for visiting the Dorset area.

The welcome basket was much appreciated. Kevin made sure we had everything we needed and gave us some great recommendations for local restaurants and pubs. We visited in January and were lucky with the weather and did a few nice walks in the area when it was less crowded. Cuckoo Cottage is a lovely, stylish, spotlessly clean and thoughtfully equipped holiday cottage.

The owners, Kevin and Chris who live next door, were welcoming and helpful when asked. We appreciated the Dorset tea, Moore biscuits and milk when we arrived. We breakfasted on the patio (weather permitting!) with a lovely green view over the valley. The cottage was spacious and comfortable, and on rainy days we were happy to 'stay at home'. An added bonus was the dedicated off-road car parking space. The only downside for us (we are in our 80s) was that although the town and the pub were indeed less than a mile, they were down a very steep hill which we couldn't manage. Perhaps this could be included in the description? Nevertheless an ideal holiday cottage.

Perfect place to stay to get the best from the stunning local area.

Set in a quiet area of Bridport the cottage has all the facilities you need. The bed is a good size & very comfortable. Good bathroom with shower & bath. The outlook is excellent over the town towards the landward side of West Bay cliffs. 5/10 minute walk into the town centre. Chris & Kevin are the perfect hosts. Thoroughly recommend this accommodation

Just returned from Cuckoo Cottage and had in our opinion the best stay for Comfort, Cleanness and location,The view from the patio was great and only had a short walk to town.

Chris and Kevin were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The only regret was we only had 7Days. Will visit Dorset again and Cuckoo Cottage will be the place I will book when I do.

The accommodation is much larger than the photos show. The facilities and the hosts are outstanding, there literally was everything you could ever need in a permanent home, much more than you would expect in a holiday let. We spent a wonderful 4-weeks at Cuckoo Cottage and would highly recommend. Not only is the location fantastic for Bridport/West Bay but ideal for the rest of Dorset and Devon.

Bridport is a very good centre for exploring the Dorset coast, full of small independent shops, and at least two excellent cafes. The street market was good fun, too.

15 mins walk from the centre of Bridport, 5 mins for a good Co-op. Very quiet with open country views, lovely south facing patio - a real suntrap.

The cottage is set high and gives good views across the valley. The spacious patio meant that we could enjoy sitting outdoors. Everything that we needed was provided indoors.

The cottage is brilliantly located to walk into Bridport which is a lovely town to shop or dine out. We visited most of the Jurassic Coast from Bridport to Poole and always thrilled to arrive back to Cuckoo cottage.

Cuckoo Cottage is situated in a private, residential area of Bridgnorth.

It is well-equipped, comfortable and there are excellent views across the valley, from the terrace. The owners, who live adjacent, are hospitable. Highly recommend.

This property is ideally situated for easy walking access to Bridport town and convenient driving to all places along the Jurassic coast.

The accommodation is modern, clean and well appointed with a safe secure parking facility. Some basic resources such as washing liquid, dishwasher and washing machine tabs are provided and the welcome pack of local items and milk was very much appreciated. The owners are friendly but are not intrusive despite also living on site in the main house behind Cuckoo Cottage. We would highly recommend this accommodation and be very happy to visit again

The views of the countryside were lovely from the bedroom, lounge & patio. We even managed to sit out on the patio for breakfast and coffee in the sunshine in October. It is perfectly situated for a short 10 minute walk into Bridport with it's independent shops, cafe's & restaurants.

The cottage is nicely situated above Bridport with lovely views. There was a constant temptation to sit on the patio and enjoy the view. Bidport is a very attractive small town and the surrounding countryside is beautiful.

It is very comfortable and the garden views are beautiful. Kevin, the owner, helpfully provided a high chair and travel cot for our baby as well. We would gladly stay again and recommend to couples or families visiting the area.

Cuckoo Cottage proved to be very comfortable, well equipped and spotlessly clean.

Attached to the owners home at the top of Coneygar Hill in Bridport, it provides a wonderful view across the valley and to the hills beyond both from the living room, patio and the bedroom. In easy walking distance of the town, though it's lovely position does mean an uphill walk back, and well placed for easy access by car to the various attractions of the area. The owners are very pleasant and helpful and helped make our stay a very enjoyable one.

We found plenty to enjoy locally, particularly as we stayed during the week of the Folk festival, and appreciated the independent shops, cafes and galleries of the town. Being fortunate to have good weather, we enjoyed breakfast on the sunny patio most mornings and, being within relatively easy distance of West Bay, Lyme Regis and other attractions of the region, Cuckoo Cottage was a perfect base to explore from. It was also reassuring to have a designated parking space, just outside the door, to return to after a busy day's sightseeing. We appreciated the thoughtful extra touches provided by the owners and would love to stay here again.
