Absolutely stunning accommodation.

Beautifully equipped. Had a fabulous relaxing time here.

Without a doubt one of the best maintained properties we’ve been to and with excellent facilities.

Our break was only dulled by the good old English weather at times. This was our second stay at Lime Tree Barn and I’m sure we will return. PS thanks to the owners for installing insect screens at windows.. bonus! We revisited Stourhead NT - a must - but would love to return there in the Autumn as i understand the landscape is glorious. The exhibition at the Hauser & Wirth gallery in Bruton another must do. Free entry which is totally amazing. We love this place. Also has an Oudolf inspired garden, excellent Farmshop /cafe/ Roth bar and I recommend the Italian restaurant there. All on the one site - and a breeze to park. Glastonbury, Clarkes village at Street, Longleat, Wells etc all within easy reach. All in all what’s not to love !

A beautiful property with thoughtful additions such as fly zapper and fly screen for the patio doors and air conditioning unit in the master bedroom (much needed during a heatwave such as we experienced Whitsun week)

This was first class accommodation in a good location.

The property was easy to find with good parking facilities. The interior was excellent with high quality fixtures and fittings - comfortable beds and a great shower. I think the property lists 1 bathroom but it had, in fact, 1 bedroom and an en-suite - so better than expected. We cannot fault it and would definitely return.

This was our second stay in this beautiful cottage, and it was as welcoming and comfortable this time as it was on our previous visit.

The house itself has a wonderful open plan downstairs with full height ceiling for part of it, exposing the lovely metal elements, plus a beautiful mezzanine bedroom. It is well equipped, with a great kitchen, sitting area, shower room, bathroom and terrace. The garden is lovely, and many an hour can be spent sitting outside watching the wildlife. An excellent gite in a great location.

I booked the Basswood Barn for our Christmas break and I was not disappointed.

The communication prior to our stay was thorough and friendly, Fred was incredibly reassuring and quick to respond. The property was easy to find and in a beautiful location, naturally a working farm is going to be a little rustic but the barn was a modern haven in a cow filled corner of Somerset that had everything we could possibly need. Access was a huge factor for my booking as we were bringing MIL for the trip and finding a ground floor bedroom and bathroom were vital, this property was a dream. She was able to independently access everything and it made the visit so much easier for us all. We also had our 2 year old in tow and he enjoyed everything about our stay, especially the cows. The property is well stocked with all the homely items you might need for a trip away, it is a little too warm at times but the underfloor heating is a wonderful feature on a cold Christmas morning. Our stay at Basswood was comfortable, toasty and like a home from home. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a break from life and a chance to recharge the batteries.

5* accommodation ; clean , comfortable, stylishly furnished, well equipped and beautifully maintained. Some great locations within easy reach ; Stourhead, Dorset coast , Stonehenge to name just a few. Would heartily recommend .

A lovely place to explore the whole area.

Everywhere we wanted to go only seemed a short 30 min car journey away. The place is beautiful inside and the air con in the bedroom was a welcome addition during the heatwave.

We stayed here for 4 nights and glad to say enjoyed great weather.

Basswood Barn is a good quality build and has excellent fixtures & fittings throughout. In depth thought has been given to everything from quality bathroom and kitchen products to a robot lawnmower keeping lawned areas spick and span. Good landscaping provides easy access from the car to the barn. We found the accommodation extremely clean and spacious - a real home from home. Great location also from which to explore the surrounding area. Fabulous Stourhead NT, charming Wells and the nearby Hauser & Wirth gallery (free entry!) was so close and a real treat. There were plenty more places to visit but we ran out of time. There are also plenty restaurants/bistros /pubs in the area to choose from. We plumped for Margot Henderson at The Three Horseshoes in Batcombe and the Italian at the aforementioned gallery. Great food in both. Nearby Bruton also has places to eat which we would have liked to have visited. Next time! Somerset is a lovely part of the country and has a lot to offer visitors and we would definitely return to Basswood Barn to explore it more.

This property is immaculate, very modern and well equipped.

Good central location for lots of lovely days out. However, this cottage is right next to a very noisy motor or generator that cuts on through the night waking you up at 4 to 4.30 each morning, and still loud until nearly midnight. The downstairs bedroom is particularly affected. It was the only thing that spoilt a lovely week.

This is one of our all time favourite holiday cottages and we love our stays at Lime Tree Barns.

There are many nice touches with high quality fixtures and fittings and everything you could possibly need. It is very quiet and a good central location to explore Somerset & Dorset.

Provided everything for a perfect long weekend break with the family and dog, including a Christmas tree, welcome cheese & crackers.

Outstanding property in a good location.

Owners attention to detail is impeccable, and obviously lots of thought put into the design and finishing touches. The Christmas decorations, card and welcome pack were an extra special bonus. Look forward to returning in the near future.

A super barn, beautifully fitted and exceptionally clean and well maintained.

The property suited us perfectly and we hope to return.

Having had many years of self catering holidays, some bad, some "par excellence", this place would rate near the top.

However, there are a couple of points that I feel need raising. The first was the absence of any kind of hello/greeting from the owners - a few seconds just to say welcome/hello would go a long way. This accommodation is meant for 4 people - the two chairs and the bench provided around the dining table badly need replacing with something comfortable and easy on the "backside" !! Finally, a couple of shower mats would be welcome - the floors in both showers are very slippery when wet. I am a 76 year old with bad hips and knees and had to be extremely careful in the shower not to slip. "Nuff said !!

A beautiful property which is finished & furnished to a very high standard in a Skandi style.

I can honestly say this is the cleanest holiday home we have ever rented. The attention to detail is second to none both inside and out. Very comfortable beds with Egyptian cotton linens. Large well fitted bathroom on the ground floor. Well designed and fitted kitchen. The upstairs bedroom is very large with a nice en-suite shower room. The garden is very simple with tiled patios front & rear, modern garden furniture & bbq. You are visited regularly by a robotic lawnmower which keeps the grass short and well tended without the intrusion of a gardener. The only down side to that is that the lower part of the fencing is open for for mower to access which meant the farm dog came visiting a couple of times during our week long stay. This was not a problem for us as we had not taken our two on this occasion but could be for those who are allergic or do not like dogs. The only negative for us (a party of 4 in our 70's) was the seating at the dining table. Two very stylish but uncomfortable dining chairs and one wooden bench which despite a cover was not conducive to comfortable dining.

Amazing stay and very understanding that we came a bit later as our daughter was ill.

We particularly appreciated the local tips and recommendations that made exploring the surrounding area a breeze. Overall, Basswood Barn provided a peaceful and relaxing retreat, with the perfect blend of rustic charm and modern convenience. We would highly recommend this gem to anyone looking for a serene getaway, and we look forward to returning in the future!

A clean and well-maintained cottage.

We found it very comfortable and fully equipped with every item one could reasonably wish to find in a holiday cottage. The owner, Fred, made us most welcome and allowed the children together with me and my daughter to "visit" his cows. He also allowed the children to have use of the (toy) dumper truck and trailer whilst we were there. My partner and I will certainly visit again, as will my daughter, since its location is so convenient for Stourhead and The Newt.

We arrived to a beautifully furnished and prepared house.

It was such a relaxing stay and we loved having the fields around us. Supermarket within a couple of miles and a petrol station right on main road out. This has been one of our favourite properties and we definitely would stay again. First class.

Basswood was a delight to stay in.

We had the best time. It provided us with the perfect base so we could explore and visit so many great places from only 14mins to 1hour away there was so much choice. The property had everything and more included very clean and modern. We will be back.

We have just returned home from a fabulous week at Basswood barn, a fabulous minimalist/Scandi conversion that has everything you could need whilst on holiday.

A lovely approach to the cottages through two fields of the most magnificent cows, no seriously! Located in Wincanton it is the perfect location for travelling around the many local historical sights. couldn't recommend it highly enough.

The property is very well equipped is modern light and airy, any queries were dealt with promptly.

The property is ideally located for exploring the area in any direction with plenty to do without going too far. I personally would have preferred to look out onto the hedge not the fence.

We have stayed in a lot of Sykes rentals over the years an this is easily the best we have stayed in.

The facilities are 5* + very modern well equipped with excellent quality bedding towels ect. Lovely seating area outside in a lovely patio area and lawns maintained by Rodney lol the robot. Even though this is situated on a working farm there is absolutely no noise or sense of work going on. Will definitely return and recommend Basswood Barn to all Kyra & Raymond and of coarse Heidi woof woof

We had a really lovely 3 night break at Basswood Barn.

We couldn’t fault anything about it. An ideal base from which to explore the local area. We visited Stourhead House and Gardens, Lytes Carey Manor, Tintinhull Gardens, and Wells. All very lovely. Basswood is a beautiful barn conversion done very tastefully and to a very high standard. The mattress in the downstairs bedroom was the most comfortable I have slept in; so much so that I’ve asked the owners where I can buy one! We were incredibly lucky with the weather and were able to enjoy time relaxing in the garden, which is an absolute sun trap. 5* all round.

Basswood Barn is an exceptional property.

Spotlessly clean, spacious and fitted out with everything you could possibly need. Fixtures and fittings were also of the highest quality. The location is perfectly central for visiting many historic properties and gardens. Welcome basket with local produce, including cheese made at the farm was much appreciated. Thank you.

Spacious, light and beautifully presented. Fixtures and fittings are of the highest quality. Every detail has been thought about. Fred was always helpful and friendly making himself available even when he was busy on the farm. All requests and queries prior to our stay were quickly answered and in place for our arrival. One of the best self catering places we’ve stayed in.

Basswood Barn is wonderful!

It is extremely clean and well-maintained. The kitchen has everything you could need for preparing meals. There was a small issue with the blinds, but Fred sorted it very quickly, and checked that everything was working well. The outside area is welcoming, however the weather did prevent us from utilising it. Our teenage son mentioned the WiFi is extremely good, better than we have at home apparently! The location is great too. Easy to travel to Stonehenge, Longleat, Weymouth. Shops and fast food outlets are about one mile away, so easy to shop and have a takeaway. We would definitely recommend Basswood Barn.

Cottage was absolutely gorgeous.

Even bigger and better than the photos. Back fence has a large gap at the bottom I assume for the robot mower so I messaged the owners asking if they had any chicken wire or netting to stop the dog getting out and the next day they had put a temporary fence up. Would definitely recommend.

Property was superb in every way, clean, comfortable, well equipped. All round high quality accommodation and great location for exploring the area.

It was a privilege to stay in Basswood. The attention to detail is incredible. This is, without a doubt, the best property I've ever stayed in. The kitchen contained every utensil you could possibly think of. The living room was even more spacious than it appears in the photos. The bathrooms were immaculate. The welcome hamper was filled with local treats, including cheese made using milk from the farm.

Absolutely fantastic barn conversion.

Everything we could want/think of was supplied, even things we'd never had in a holiday let before (the 'boot box' was brilliant!). Can't recommend Lime Tree Barn highly enough, definitely would return.

An amazing property, no expense spared.

Everything you need in the kitchen and more. Bathrooms were gorgeous and the beds very comfortable. Spotlessly clean. Lovely welcome pack. Great base to visit local attractions and NT houses. We have used Sykes 25+ times and this has to be in the top 3 for quality and price. Brilliant.

I was so impressed. There was cutlery, cups and plates for my young children. Beautiful finish to everything. I would definitely come back. My youngest daughter wanted to move in and to to be honest I wouldn't be against the idea. Thank you for a great stay

This was a luxurious let, one of three in Limetree Barn.

It was extremely well appointed and the master bedroom has a very comfortable en suite. The open plan living space was larger than we expected; airy, light and calm. The kitchen was well equipped. We drive an EV and we were reassured to find that each of the lets had its own charger which you pay for separately using the Energy Park app.

What an absolutely luxurious stay we had at Basswood.

Everything we could possibly need was there. The kitchen was so well equipped, the beds were super comfortable upstairs and down, the living area was stunning. The air con in the bedroom was amazing and we loved the cheese and biscuits that were left as a welcome gift. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

A stunning barn conversion in a lovely quiet area with great access to the A303 - we were delighted to be the first to stay in Basswood.

The barn was incredibly well equipped and my children particularly enjoyed the amazing bath!
