2 Pigsfoot Cottages

I would like to start by saying that, generally, the property was okay, clean and tidy aside from a number of cobwebs.

However, there were a few things I feel need mentioning. 1. The listing mentions some internal steps but fails to say that every ground-floor doorway has a step, including a very deep step into the utility room and a small step in the doorway of one of the bedrooms. The patio and hot tub area also have a number of steps and uneven slabs. Because of this, I would not recommend this property as suitable for young children or elderly people. 2. The beds, which are two singles made up as a king-size bed, have a very uncomfortable topper, and a number of the beds squeaked with every movement. 3. The fridge freezer is in the utility room rather than the kitchen, which is inconvenient. 4. The hot tub is maintained daily by the owners, which I feel should have been included in the listing information. We have a reactive dog that does not like strangers, and had we known this in advance, it would have impacted our decision to book. 5. The sofas are worn, and the seats sink so much that once you are sitting down, it is difficult to get up from them. 6. The property needs some care and attention. Some walls are damaged or poorly finished, some light fittings have seen better days, and the electrical sockets are close to the floor, some being in inconvenient places like under the bed.

We had a very enjoyable week at Pigsfoot a lovely cottage with lots of character.

The garden was amazing secure and enclosed with lots of natural shade for us all to relax knowing our grandson and dogs were safe. The hot tub was wonderful and well maintained. A great location to explore the area. We had a great time and recommend the property.

Everything was well maintained, comfortable, and perfect for a relaxing break. Tracey and Ade were very helpful throughout our stay. For anyone travelling with dogs, there’s no need to worry—the garden is fully enclosed, making it safe and secure for pets. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend it to others

A lovely 4 night stay at the cottage.

Ade and Tracy the owners were wonderful and allowed an early check in and an extra hour for check out which was great. The cottage is huge with comfy beds, and even a play room for the kids which had a PS4 and loads of games and books. Outside the garden is stunning, and even though we went in April we had a quite a few sunny days, and we were even able to use the provided gas BBQ which is a great addition. The hot tub is huge and so relaxing, the hot tub area is also covered so offers some share and shelter from the elements if you needed it. However sitting in there with a coffee in the morning you still got some lovely rays from the sun. We went for a lovely walk along the canal to the local village where we stopped at the Farm Shop and then up to local pub for a couple of pints and a few nibbles. I would highly recommend 2 Pigsfoot Cottages and cant wait to visit again. Thanks again Ade and Tracey.

Great cottage in a great location.

Clean, cosy, and felt very homely. It was perfect for getting the whole family together and hosting Christmas dinner, with plenty of space and everything we needed. The owners were brilliant – really friendly and easy to communicate with. We had an amazing Christmas stay here and would happily come back.

We visited as a family of 9 (including our dog) and Pigs Foot ticked every box.

Everything was provided, the kitchen is well stocked as are the games in the playroom. We especially loved the hot tub and the wood burner. The cottage is a 10 minute drive from Diggerland, the purpose of our visit. We will definitely book again.

The owners were really helpful throughout the stay and communicated each morning when they needed to check the hot tub. The garden was a delight in the sunshine, and the property is walking distance to the canal and Halberton. Would strongly recommend.

A lovely stay booked at short notice.

Cottage had all the amenities required to make it feel like a home from home. Pleasant surroundings but mainly a quiet place to relax. Some nice walks along the tow path that is nearby to the property which the dogs loved

Lovely cottage, spacious with lots of storage.

Everyone really enjoyed our week, playing or relaxing in the garden, playing in the games room or board games on the large dining table. The only slight issues we found were uncomfortable mattresses (although they did not stop us from sleeping well), far more steps than suggested in the details, and uncomfortable sofas ( 2 of the party had bad backs and could not sit in them at all, although the conservatory chairs were fine). Our cocker spaniel had a wonderful time too. All in all a fabulous week and highly recommended. Thanks to Tracey and Adrian who are lovely hosts, and for the yummy cake and doggy treats.8

Had a really relaxing stay.

Owners were very friendly. They kindly left some logs and kindling for us. The chocolates were a nice welcome too. There are lovely walks to the canal from the cottage, but too long for our 14 year old dog. There are plenty of walks less than 5 mins drive from the cottage though. Would stay there again

Our mattress was uncomfortable but that may just be me otherwise a lovely cottage to get away to with a lovely couple running it.

We visited in late March to celebrate our daughter’s 18th birthday with her friends and all have a great time, memories made for ever!

We drove from London, have travelled around a fair bit in UK and Europe exploring small towns and cottage stays. The cottage is spacious, clean, fully equipped and has a lot of character with every detail taken care of by the owners Tracey and Adrian. It’s a treasure and better than what you see in the listing, and the hot tub unsurprisingly was popular! The cottage is in a wonderful location to explore Devon and we even drove up to Lynton and Lynmouth! The owners are too kind and very responsive to make sure your stay is as comfortable as possible hence the 5 stars

This is a beautiful holiday home, well equipped and in a great location.

The owners are really helpful and welcoming to ensure our stay was a great experience. We stayed over the Christmas break and the house had been decorated wonderfully for our stay. The log fire created a great cosy atmosphere for a spending family time watching films and playing games. This is a great spot for a break at any time of the year.

We had a wonderful weekend.

Tracey was so thoughtful - left us milk, a cake, eggs and even a treat for the dog! The house was beautiful and well equipped. The hot tub was a real treat. There were places to explore nearby and we were left some great suggestions. We will definitely be coming back!!

I cannot speak highly enough about Pigsfoot Cottage.

It is fabulous and all the facilities are brilliant. We all enjoyed the hot tub and the woodburner made the lounge really cosy. It is big enough so that 2 families were not on top of each other and the secure garden was great for the dog. We will definitely want to come again thankyou.

The cottage was well equipped and comfortable.

The whole cottage and gardens are maintained to a high standard. You are able to switch off and relax very easily. Tracey and Ade were around if we needed them which is reassuring if you have any issues or questions.

We had a family week at Pigs foot cottage, 8 adults.

It was ideal for us all to gather in the kitchen and around the huge dinner table. The hot tub was popular and the garden was great for adults and dog alike. The owners checked the hot tub every day with a very welcome supply of eggs from the chickens close by. We will happily book again for our next family get together.

We had a lovely time in the cottage and the hot tub was much appreciated in the morning 's and after long walks on the Devon coast.

This cottage is an absolute gem, we were met by Tracey and Ade who showed us around and the basics and were always at hand should we require anything, little extras on arrival like milk, fresh eggs and cake made it all the more welcoming, garden enclosed and safe for the the dogs Everything in the cottage that you need for your stay.

As a family we had a wonderful time and have built some very special memories, we will be back. Thank you Tracey and Ade for everything.

A beautiful cottage, close enough to amenities yet definitely felt that we were in the serenity of the countryside.

Tracey and Adrian were on hand to meet and greet and then left us to enjoy our stay. What a treat to have almost daily fresh eggs from the chickens and the welcome cake, along with all the other essentials in the cottage. A great place to explore the local area from. I really enjoyed my stay at Pigsfoot lodge they took me in last minute and the place was fantastic the home was nice and cosy and very clean the hot tub was amazing and very spacious also the owners was a great help & it was a nice quite place I would definitely recommend to anyone looking to stay and I will definitely be coming again :)
