Such a peaceful and beautiful setting for a delightful character cottage.

We loved it.

We had a lovely holiday at Field View.

The cottage was well equipped and lovely and clean and the owners provided some welcome items plus a few extra things like liquid soap in the kitchen and bathroom which was appreciated. The cottage itself was cosy with lovely views from the garden. We found the location ideal for day trips out around Somerset and Devon (including Minehead, Lyme Regis, Burnham on Sea) and close to Taunton for 'big' shops. Highly recommended.

It was a lovely cute cottage, the views were amazing and the owners were very friendly and welcoming.

The bed was very comfy. Our greyhound enjoyed zoomies in the garden. There were walks from the cottage. Taunton was about 7 miles away so only a short drive through lovely countryside. A relaxing stay.

Beautiful cottage, very well maintained and in a very quiet location out in the country, with beautiful sunsets.

. The hosts are very friendly and helpful, their dog even friendlier :-). The field behind the cottage has regular visits from both deer and pheasants. Loved it so much that I booked for 2 weeks and stayed for 4. The only downside I would warn people of is the slow internet, its fine for general use, but not great if, like me, you work remote. However, you are out in the middle of nowhere so it is to be expected.

Our second time at this cottage.

Once again found it comfortable and it met our needs well. Very comfortable bed. Cottage was warm and cosy despite a storm raging outside. Would happily stay there again.

Field View was just perfect!

It was very comfortable, a good bed, great quality bedding, a very beautiful and cosy accommodation. Dog friendly. Its also set in an overall beautiful and peaceful area. I personally couldn't have asked for better. The hosts were so helpful, I got lost on the way there, very far out from where I was meant to be and the hosts couldn't have been more helpful or empathetic, the lengths they were willing to go to help me was very heartwarming and much appreciated. I really enjoyed my stay and I slept so well! Ready to return home for a chaotic Christmas lol. I would definitely return and I hope I do.

A perfect tranquil and cozy retreat.

The cottage is as lovely as the pictures suggest and very warm. The bed was as comfortable as any I’ve ever slept in. The kitchen is large and well-equipped with views over fields and woods, one evening we watched a deer grazing in the field below whilst drinking tea! There are plenty of woodland walks and footpaths within walking distance of the property, but it is 5 miles to the nearest shop.

A bit remote but we knew that when we booked it. A very well received welcome pack upon arrival. Dog friendly and sensibly laid out. Lovely spacious kitchen area.

I d maybe get more of the whole of the property in your picture but drawing a line where guests will stay as feel you may be doing yourself a disservice, as pic only shows part of the property

Such a lovely property to stay at .

..well located for visiting attractions like the national trust. It was very clean and tidy when we arrived. The owners left us a little welcome gift of eggs and wine, full instructions on how to use the cooker. The views are wonderful and it's very peaceful, nice for a relaxing holiday..Thank you

Just returned today from our visit to Somerset.

This is our second Sykes cottage and again it did not disappoint. The cottage was clean and had everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable. Would certainly consider staying there again when we are next visiting family in Somerset.

The cottage was perfect bliss after our long drive from southern Spain.

A real haven of peace and tranquillity. We would not change a thing - it was just perfect for us. If we lived back in the U.K. this would be our regular bolt hole. My only regret is that we did not book for longer!

Such a beautiful place with such a comfy bed.

Was lovely to relax together and spend quality time with the people you love. Fabulous kitchen with everything we needed, comfortable surroundings, private and very well cared for. Ceilings in lounge low but added to the character even though my better half kept hitting his head!! We would return.

Beautiful location, stunning views.

Pub about 40 mins walk away. Cottage very comfortable, warm and comfortable. Close to Taunton, Lyme Regis and many other beautiful locations.

We had a lovely 3 night stay at Field View.

We wanted to be as remote as possible to avoid any NYE fireworks and this was the perfect location. Nicola and Mike have thought of everything, this is a luxurious home from home place to be. The kitchen is well equipped making self catering easy, there is a great strong shower, and super comfy bed. The garden was completely secure for our dog so we had no concerns there. Although we were there in December at no point were we cold, the property has lovely solid floors so we were pleased we had packed our slippers (we always do) but the cottage stayed warm throughout as there are lots of radiators and heated towel rails. Bedding was spotlessly clean and there was an abundance of towels. Nicola and Mike had also kindly popped in some welcome treats which were very much appreciated, especially the freshly laid eggs. Although remote and rural the Greyhound Pub is only a short drive away, and Taunton was only about a 15 min drive away. The views were amazing and we were only disappointed that we weren’t there longer in warmer weather to have a lazy breakfast in the garden. We would definitely return and definitely recommend.

Lovely cottage complete with everything you would need.

Very rural, but still a relatively short distance to all the amenities. A quiet, relaxing break.

I am please that the holiday was relaxing and it was quiet and comfortable the host were very helpful and Bonnie enjoyed it as well thank you for the items that you provide they were very much appreciate I will hope to come back again maybe for a week next year.

We would like to thank Mike and Nicola for providing us with a beautiful little cottage for our holiday.

The welcome pack really was welcome after the journey down from Yorkshire. The cottage is really well set out and you can see that a lot of time and effort has been taken to make sure the guests have a good time whilst there. It is the most peaceful tranquil cottage we have been in with amazing scenery and sunsets, we managed to go to Dorset, Devon and Somerset attractions whilst there and the only negative we had is that we didn't have more time there than the week we had, our problem not there's. The bed was amazing and you could have stayed there all day but then you wouldn't see any of the amazing countryside and towns. You have all the equipment to cook for yourself or go for a drink and a meal at one of the local pubs, the Greyhound is really good and very popular. Again many thanks to you both and not forgetting Lily, we hope to come back to see you again soon but this time it will be for a longer break, take care of yourselves. Field View was everything we expected but more.

The hosts were friendly, kindly and helpful. There was a very thoughtful welcome pack, including wine and fresh eggs from the farm chickens! We visited lots of lovely places, Dunster, Minehead, Montacute House, Seaton and many others. Almost the best thing though was sitting in the garden and soaking up the peace and tranquility. Our little dog loved it there. We'd recommend The Greyhound Inn for cosy meals and drinks, walkable but quicker to drive! Dog friendly too. We'd love to go back and probably will.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Field View.

The pictures do not do this place justice! It is a lot larger than we thought it would be, and was the perfect cosy bolthole for our Christmas stay. Mike and Nicola had decorated the space for Christmas and left us eggs from their chickens (delicious!) along with other supplies. Very thoughtful! We loved popping in to say hello to the horses and meeting the lovely Molly and Lily, who interacted with our dog so nicely. The bed and sofa are SO comfortable, much time was spent lounging and watching tv. Honestly, we had the best time and are looking forward to come back next year! Thank you so much Mike and Nicola!

The cottage was very clean and the bed was very comfortable.

The garden was the right size for our dog and was very safe and tidy. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you might need to cook a meal. The kitchen was lacking in cleaning products. It would be an idea to have a mop and bucket, and a clean sponge for the dishes and some J cloths with some kitchen spray. We really enjoyed our stay and will be rebooking in the future.

The cottage was perfect.

It had everything we needed (apart from kitchen tongs) and was so comfortable. The bed was the best ever! And the hosts were friendly and informative, giving us great ideas of where to go and what to see. I'd HIGHLY recommend staying in this gorgeous cottage.

The property was lovely and comfortable.

Bed was so comfortable with quality bedding and plenty of towels provided. Good shower and kitchen well equipped. Welcome pack was excellent and the owners were on hand if we needed anything. Lovely setting and it was nice to experience such peace and quiet. A very relaxing holiday. A couple of more comfortable chairs to sit in the garden would have been welcome. Otherwise we thoroughly enjoyed our stay , as did our greyhound Lottie, who loved the spacious garden. Thanks to Nicola and Mike who were there if needed and very friendly , but unobtrusive.

What a gem!

The cottage is located surrounded by countryside. You have wonderful views, beautiful birdsong all day, incredible sunsets & we were even lucky enough to see deer in the field twice during our stay! It's the most lovely place to relax, unwind & get away from it all. The cottage itself is just perfect! So well equipped, comfortable & clean throughout. That fireplace is stunning. The owners, Nicola and Mike, are just so lovely, so friendly & we enjoyed chatting with them during our stay. And meeting their gorgeous doggies too. It's great they're just next door & on hand if you need anything, but equally they give you complete privacy whilst you're at the cottage. We were so lucky with the endless sunshine whilst we stayed, but the cottage stayed so cool inside which was great for our elderly springer. We had such a relaxing few days & although we explored different places in the area, or was equally just at nice to sit in the garden & absorb the views. We couldn't recommend Field View enough & we will definitely be back to stay again

What a lovely cottage and in a beautiful location.

We have family living in Taunton so this was just perfect for us, but it would also be very convenient for the many National Trust properties in the area, Exmoor, other attractions and seaside towns.

We had a fantastic stay the accommodation was lovely.

The owners were extremely helpful as we had a problem with the oven but it was resolved quickly. Literally the only things we'd say would be we would have preferred a washing machine rather than a dishwasher as it wasn't used and a washing machine would have been more useful after muddy dog walks!!.Also the bins being in cupboard was annoying but that's literally it. We loved our stay ❤️

A very suitable cottage for one or two people, also garden completely dog proof.

Most comfortable bed. Lovely big kitchen maybe do with a few more kitchen items if you are into cooking. Lovely to have bath and shower with ample hot water. Fairly easy access to rest of county and Devon and Dorset. Some lovely walks from the house. Quiet remote location. Helpful owners.

Nicola & Mike are excellent hosts, the cottage has everything you could wish for to ensure a relaxing break with a four legged family member. We are looking froward to staying again later in the year.

It was ideal for us. The welcome by the owner along with the welcome pack was very good. Added to which the nearest pub was dog friendly and served excellent food.

Lovely little cottage attached to owners cottage.

Some neighbouring noise but not intrusive. Great base for exploring Somerset, Devon and Dorset. Cottage had everything we needed. Beds a little firmer than our liking but still comfortable. Mike and Nicola good hosts. Lovely welcome pack of eggs, bread, milk and wine which was very appreciated. We would recommend this cottage for a break in this lovely part of the UK.

A super little place.

Please keep up your wonderful work. You provided us with a simply perfect spot to relax after our wedding. We loved the little touches... The wine, the milk, the eggs... All really appreciated. And your gorgeous dogs! This is such an ideal dog friendly cottage. Apologies for leaving dog hair behind!

First of all can I say what a beautiful little cottage Field View is, we have really loved the peaceful surroundings and all its comforts.

The welcome pack is a great touch which was bliss as we didn't have time to have a quick shop on our arrival, therefore, we were able to have scrabbled egg on toast our first morning with a lovely cup of tea. We haven't done much exploring although we intend to in future trips, we used the cottage as a base to visit our newly born granddaughter in nearby Horton. Upon reading previous customers feedback, from what I could see all the feedback has been acted on and Mike and Nicola have thought of everything, all in all the cottage is perfect. We will definitely be staying again and will be recommending Field View to family and friends.

A beautiful little thatched cottage conveniently placed just outside Taunton.

The owners are delightful and couldn’t have been more friendly. A lovely package of goodies awaits you as you walk in including fresh farm eggs. A lovely garden and view across the neighbouring fields is a great place to sit and relax. Would thoroughly recommend Field View to anyone wanting a peaceful rural retreat.

We stayed a week with our lively Springer Spaniel.

We couldn’t have wished for better hosts. A lovely, courteous and very caring couple with 2 beautiful dogs who our dog loved to play with. Welcome pack was extraordinary and we got spoiled with tomatoes from their garden and eggs from their hens. The Cottage was very cosy and clean. We enjoyed dinner in the garden while watching the sunset behind the fields. Lakes and woodlands are nearby and the beach is only a 40 minute drive. Wished we could have stayed longer.

Loved the location, the views and the tranquility.

Welcome pack was brilliant and host was friendly. Just a few touches needed to make it easier on a self catering manner. Please add wine glasses, gin glasses, soup and pasta bowls. Another pot to cook in and maybe a selection of up to date walks in the area, as some of the new Herepath trail is not accessible. Another chopping board, hairdryer a good pairing come culinary knife. Nitpicking but these are what we missed. Great spot and super quiet, just what we ordered
