Fox Den is the very best cottage we have had through Sykes.

It is beautiful in every way. The situation is remote and peaceful and surrounded by fields. Abundant wild life and dark sky at night allow for sitting out watching the milky way. The cottage lacks for nothing with beautiful bedding, large soft fluffy towels, comfy beds and pillows up stairs. Accomodation downstairs is perfect with a sitting room with log burner and beautiful leather sofas. The kitchen is well equipped and works well with doors out on to the terrace. The hot tub is just lush! We did not want to come home and had rebooked for next year within three hours of arrival. Tim and Kathy are delightful and attentive hosts. We can't wait for next year.

Idyllic!

We’ve enjoyed the most perfect stay this week - the ideal place for a much needed rest and recharge! The location is stunning, the house so well designed (windows making the best of all the views etc) and is so tastefully decorated and furnished. The bed was sooo comfortable, the towels soft and the sofa ideal for relaxing on when you could tear yourself away from the hot tub! We’ve loved being surrounded by beautiful English countryside and all the wildlife that’s so abundant here! Just so peaceful! We’ll definitely be returning!

We had the most peaceful holiday ever at the fox den.

It has to be one of the coolest hideaways in the uk. Sit outside at night and look up at the stars. Sleep in late in the most comfortable bed known to mankind. It’s like being inside a wildlife documentary. We saw deer casually strolling past whilst we were in the hot tub. Owls flying past. Bats overhead at night. Hares running around. If I could improve it I might add some more outside furniture and maybe put some essentials in the cupboards but this place is incredible. We will definitely be back. We were so lucky to visit in August during the heatwave, so didn’t spend anytime indoors or put the tv on. Our lurcher also had a lovely time. He couldn’t escape from the garden ( he is a lurcher so of course he tried) but he quickly decided it was his job to parade the perimeter. It feels like everything we wanted to do was drivable within an hour max. I’ve never known total silence like I experienced here. One week felt like a month due to it being so chill. Perfect hosts and the farm itself is beautiful. When we do return hopefully it will be for two weeks. Ten stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
