IT was very clean and roomy and the owners whore very help full

A lovely cottage with everything we needed.

The cake waiting for us on arrival was delicious. A nice outside area for the dogs. A peaceful location and a great base to discover Somerset. The owners were very welcoming and we had a great break.

Fiona and Gary were so welcoming and helpful.

Yea, coffee, bread and homemade cakes were provided! It’s the second year I’ve stayed there so I knew it would be excellent. A lovely cottage with lovely hosts. Thank you so much

Lovely cottage in a quiet location, everything you need to have a relaxing holiday.

Secure garden, well stocked kitchen, comfy bed and a superb shower. Fiona and Gary very friendly and on hand if needed.

The best yet, could not fault, would not attempt to try.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at woodpecker cottage, Fiona and Gary we excellent hosts ,and there if needed, kitchen well stocked , nice sitting out area , we had lovely weather only rained twice and not all day , the Royal Naval Fleet Air arm museum well worth a visit less than 30 minutes away, lots of national trust places , ,would definitely recommend a stay here , ,will miss the dogs as well loved seeing them very friendly,

Friendly & helpful hosts, clean and comfortable cottage with everything we needed for a relaxing holiday.

The only thing we missed was not having a view of outside although we fully understand and appreciated the privacy glaze on the living space window.

We had a fantastic break.

The hosts Fiona and Gary were brilliant. Cottage had everything we needed. Dog loved it. The homemade cakes, dog biscuits and other essentials provided were much appreciated . A brilliant time was had by all.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Woodpecker Lodge, it was very clean , comfortable and modern.

Their was everything we needed for our stay their. Fiona & Gary were very friendly and on hand if there was anything we should need. They also left a nice hamper,to start our stay off, the cakes were delicious . Our 2 dogs enjoyed it to. We hope to go back another time. Very nice.

We had a fantastic time here.

The facilities are great and we were very comfortable. We wanted for nothing and Fiona and Gary are great. I am temporarily in a wheelchair and they made and installed a ramp at the front steps. I WMwould thoroughly recommend them their hospitality and their cottage. Fiona makes amazing cakes

Fiona and Gary were very helpful and friendly; nothing was too much trouble.

We received a welcome hamper and a supply of wonderful homemade flapjacks and cakes. I have to give them and their cottage a Gold Star! Well done!

This is the first holiday let that has suited all our needs.

The Owners were so helpful. A pub just down the road result. Nice meals. So we have booked again for next year. Shhs don't tell everyone they might take our slot.

! Spotless, private and perfect for a break away (for humans and doggies) . Very dog friendly . Hosts were lovely and available if needed but otherwise we were left to enjoy. Lovely dog walks in area too .

Fabulous stay - the lodge is well equipped, well maintained and really comfortable.

The kitchen contained everything you needed for the stay; literally everything was provided and thought about. It was lovely to receive the welcome goodies, especially the homemade Easter cakes and flapjacks - they went down very well indeed. The bedroom was huge and really comfortable with a nice en-suite bathroom The owners (Fiona and Gary) were very welcoming, friendly and on-hand for any problems; not that we had any problems what so ever! The only very slight issue was the wifi kept dropping in and out, but that is just a tiny niggle in the grand scheme of things The small gravel garden area was very pleasant to sit in and just listen to the peace and quiet of the surrounding area. Location was good for visiting places such as Glastonbury, Langport and Street and there were plenty of local markets to visit We had a lovely week and would go back for another visit.

Exceptional warm welcome including a hamper with homemade cakes bread milk and more.

Made to feel at home, well equipped kitchen with dishwasher and even a washing machine. Ideally placed to visit so many of the Somerset must sees. Even got to go to the Bath Christmas Market Can’t recommend this cottage enough a real gem

A little gem in a nice and quiet hamlet.

Everything you needed was provided for from excellent and friendly hosts. Nothing was too much trouble. Well situated to visit the Somerset countryside. Highly recommended for a place to unwind.

The property was lovely and comfortable, ideal for a couple and two dogs.

It was great to have a small completely enclosed patio garden, safe for the dogs and lovely to sit in Reading my book! Fiona and Gary were lovely, friendly and helpful. We would certainly recommend this to anyone wanting a rural holiday.

We had a lovely stay at Woodpecker Lodge.

We were greeted by Gary who was very welcoming and accommodating with our arrival time. We were travelling from Essex. Both Gary and Fiona were very helpful and were right there if you needed help. The lodge was very clean and conveniently located for us. We were visiting family and this was a perfect base for us. The welcome pack and cake were a lovely touch and very much appreciated. The amenities were also perfect. We will definitely be staying again. Thank you again :)

Woodpecker Lodge is positioned very well for exploring surrounding areas including Glastonbury, Bridgewater, Canals, Rivers, RSPB Nature reserve at Greylake and the quaint little Barrow Mump .

.. The Lodge is decorated beautifully, spotless, very well equiped and warms up in an instant. The bedroom is spacious with plenty of storage and a large comfy bed ... Fiona is very welcoming and left us a lovely hamper, we had a fantastic time.

Excellent cosy property, lots of room for two people [and dog] and a very comfy bed.

A little bit out of the way for the bird reserves, but the owners and accommodation was worth it.

After a very warm welcome from Fiona we soon settled in for our Christmas and New Year break, Christmas tree and mince pies was a nice touch.

We found Woodpecker lodge very clean and comfortable with an enclosed secure outside area ideal for our 2 small dogs. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend for exploring this area.

I was made very welcome by the owners and the cottage was very clean, comfortable and fully equipped.

I would be very happy to return to Woodpecker Lodge in the future.

A beautiful lodge spotlessly clean everything you need plus more , Fiona was there to meet us when we arrived and had baked a lovely cake plus a welcome package .

We just got home from a weeks stay at Woodpecker Lodge.

The cottage was immaculately clean and perfect in every way providing everything we needed for our stay. Situated in a really quiet area but easy to get to everywhere. The owners, Gary and Fiona couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend this cottage.

This is a wonderful cottage ideally located for nature lovers and walkers being close to Avalon Marshes and other stunning locations.

The host were very hospitable and we particularly appreciated the home baking. Could not have asked for more.

We had a wonderful week at Woodpecker Lodge with our two small dogs.

Although a little off the beaten track the accommodation is ideal and really well located to explore the area, many places of interest within a fairly small radius. Our hosts were excellent and nothing too much trouble.

What a warm welcome, the room was impeccably clean with every possible comfort considered.

Very warm & friendly reception from Fiona & he dogs! When we got into the lodge, we found that not only had she provided milk & bread rolls, but she had also baked us cakes & biscuits! We will definitely returning to this lovely place.

Nothing was too much trouble. The cottage is lovely very cosy and everything you need. We only cooked an evening meal once and a couple of cooked breakfast but there was every thing we needed. Thank you so much to Fiona and Gary for such a lovely break in Somerset. We will defiantly come back. X

Very pleasant little cottage in quiet rural location, ideal for visiting local area and for anybody interested in birdwatching.

Fiona and Gary were the perfect hosts, nothing was too much trouble, the lodge was very comfortable and very well equipped, they had wonderful reviews in their visitor's book (very well deserved) lovely people, also had two lovely dogs.

The directions to the lodge were very detailed.

Also, because of the coronavirus restrictions an extra layer of precautions were emailed to us. This was appreciated both by the lodge owners and ourselves.

Lovely quiet location.

Great location as base to explore the area and many reserves nearby. Owners and friendly dogs live next to accomodation and are very accomodating and welcoming. Gave us their milk , when we ran out one night! Comfy bed and good working shower , which is always a bonus! Well equipped kitchen and fresh modern interior and private parking too! In all very pleased with everything!

This is a FIRST CLASS cottage in a perfect location,the cottage could not be better, a top London hotel would be hard pushed to beat the quality and cleanliness of Woodpecker Lodge, there is everything you could wish for, ideal for a long or short break.

This really is the best kept cottage we have stayed in .

Everything was so clean and good quality. But the most important thing was the hosts Fiona and Gary they really do go that extra mile to make your stay welcoming and comfortable .

This is an excellent location perfectly sited to explore the counties of Somerset and Dorset .

The owners Fiona and Gary are very welcoming and well organised .The accommodation is excellent ,well equipped and very comfortable .One of the best holidays we have had ,so quiet and peaceful at Henley .

The welcome from hosts was lovely.

The lodge has everything you need and I really mean everything even down to dishwasher tabs! It was spotlessly clean, the décor is beautiful and little extras such as cake, choice,dog treats, etc very thoughtful. It is the perfect retreat away from a busy world especially for couples with a dog or baby. PS it also has wi-fi if you have to stay in touch. Just perfect really so will certainly be going back. PPS it has a brilliant walk in shower so good for easy access.

We had a fantastic holiday in a beautiful cottage everything we could wish for Gary and Fiona were perfect host.

Nothing was too much trouble a beautiful cake was waiting for us as well as chocolate and biscuits for our dog.

I have just returned from Woodpecker Lodge today after a fantastic week there with my husband and two dogs.

The five star property really did exceed our expectations!It is a beautifully renovated barn in the peaceful hamlet of Henley situated down a quiet country lane, with several walks from the door. The Lodge is fitted out with absolutely everything you may need for a comfortable stay, with a secure area to let the dogs out and to leave your vehicle Lots of interesting places to visit and plenty of beaches not too far away which the dogs loved. The hosts Fiona and Gary were very helpful and welcoming, providing a hamper with extras which was much appreciated-bread milk cake chocolates and even doggie biscuits ,towels and dog bags. They gave us plenty of useful information regarding the area and were around if needed but were never intrusive at all. Many thanks for your hospitality We cannot recommend this holiday home enough and look forward to returning to this lovely corner of the country which has something to interest all ages , hopefully next year

The location was perfect for exploring Somerset. The owners Fiona and Gary were fantastic, from the welcoming pack, personally, with local information, they were like the 'best neighbours' you could want............they made the stay at Woodpecker Lodge exceptional. The cottage was like home from home with 'extras'. And we will definitely be recommending it to All our friends.

The Lodge was fantastic - there was nothing they hadn't thought of!

it was beautifully decorated/laid out. Fiona and Gary were a very nice couple who are next door if you have any questions/needs - they were helpful and kind. Fabulous central position to explore Somerset, parts of Avon/Devon and Dorset (a car would probably be the best way to see the area). The scenery is breath taking. The only small issue to be aware of is you don't get any O2 cover (may get other service providers!?) if you need phone or internet urgently, but Gary and Fiona have wifi set up now to assist with internet, which is great. This was our first taste of "dog friendly cottages", having sold our caravan, and we were very impressed. We would recommend Sykes, and specifically this lodge, to anyone. We had a lovely time. Superb in every respect.

One of the best propertied we have been to. Couldn't fault it in any way. Equipment, furnishings, location, all top class. The hosts, Fiona and Gary, could not have done more for us. We would recommend Woodpecker Lodge without hesitation.

Excellent hosts beauitful cottage in a quite location with lots of lovely lanes to ride your bike, also good for sight seeing.

Staying at Woodpecker lodge provided a tranquil setting for our rather busy schedule of exploring Somerset and Dorset with a view of moving to this area.

It was always enjoyable after a day out to return to the peace and quiet of the cottage. Gary and Fiona could not have been better hosts and our Maltese dog settled in very well. We certainly would return in the future.

Woodpecker Lodge is set in a beautiful rural location within easy reach of nearby towns and amenities.

The cottage itself has been decorated and equipped to an exceptionally high standard with everything you could ever need for a relaxing break away. Fiona and Gary were fantastic hosts and made us and our whippet most welcome and were on hand to answer any questions we had. We couldn’t recommend Woodpecker Lodge enough and we hope to return again for a longer break away.
