Lovely place to stay, very quiet, within easy reach of local attractions and pubs nearby.

Our dog loved the field to run around in. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and well equipped.

Our return visit as good as our first.

A beautifully present barn in a peaceful rural location yet within easy reach of places to visit, town and coast. The nearby paddock was brilliant for exercising the dog morning and evening.We had a week of tropical temperatures which were a little too much at times, but found sitting out at night when temperatures dropped lovely.The owner was very helpful when we had a problem with the hot water due to the temperatures. Would highly recommend the property

A great place for touring Somerset.

The field for the dog to run was a great bonus. Property owner was very friendly and obliging.

We did not get to meet the owners, and there was no Visitors book, as we would have liked to leave them some positive feedback from our stay.

We made full use of the ‘open’ field at the back of the property, future visitors be mindful if your dog likes water there are Rhynes?small man made streams running the length of the field. The owners had cut the grass before we arrived so it was great to walk on, but it meant in the early morning dew we did bring a lot of grass back to the property. Note to owner a yard broom would have been helpful - however we had a travel dustpan and brush so when the grass was dry we were able to tidy the patio area before we left. Also the bolt on the yard gate just needs a little attention, found it a bit difficult to secure the gate, so as we have a dog who loves to be nosy we placed two of the garden chairs up against the wall either side of the gate to prevent him from escaping. Other than that very well equipped, very comfortable, would definitely book again if we come down this direction in the future.

Lovely barn.

Very comfortable and quiet but with good access to motorway/main roads for exploring Somerset. Use of paddock, for exercising our 4 legged friend, was brilliant. Iron and ironing board could do with a bit of tlc. However, barn was very clean and well equipped. Would recommend this barn as a great place to stay. Would definitely book again.

Large kitchen and main bedroom. Good private car parking with extensive paddock leading on to quiet lane.

We had a generally good stay at this property.

It’s in a convenient location for local attractions, and the price felt reasonable for the time of year. The kitchen area is very spacious and the property was warm with easy temperature control on colder days. Having three toilets (two upstairs and one downstairs) was also very convenient. The walk-in shower is large and easy to use, and the field at the back of the property is a nice bonus - especially for walking or if you have dogs. On the downside, the mattresses were quite firm, to the point that we found them extremely uncomfortable. The lounge area is on the smaller side and may feel cramped with three or more people. The outdoor area behind the property is a bit uneven and untidy, with two large seemingly abandoned outbuildings - one of which appears to be used for storage of old items. Access onto the main road can be awkward due to a blind spot, although traffic is generally light. There’s also limited storage for clothes (no wardrobes, though hangers are provided), and some of the furniture feels a little dated. The welcome pack was minimal, and only UHT milk was provided. Finally, the kettle could do with a thorough descale, as it wasn’t in great condition on the inside.

We had a really lovely stay at Magnolia Barn.

The barn was very clean, warm and comfortable with everything we required. There are no wardrobes, but each bedroom has 5 hooks for hanging clothes and plenty of drawer space. The boot room was very useful – plenty of space for jackets and boots and great for ensuring the dog is clean before coming in. The outside water tap was also useful, as was the use of their paddock. The visibility when exiting onto The Causeway is restricted.

Absolutely wonderful stay.

.. Thank you very much for allowing us to stay at your wonderful cottage, it was everything we expected and needed for our New Years Break .. The cottage is amazing and perfect in almost every way .. (Maybe a larger TV) First world problems eh! Heating was amazing and almost too good (would have loved a Wood Stove then it would have been perfect but you may have had problems evicting us) Superbly Clean and well designed throughout. Kitchen, lounge, bedrooms and bathrooms all perfect. Surrounding areas perfect and all amenities local and easily accessible. An absolute Oasis and we were sad to leave when it was over. Thank you once again and we hope to book again.

Going away can be a gamble but I wasn't disappointed at all with Magnolia Barn.

It's spotlessly clean, the facilities are great, beds comfortable and the heating spot on! I genuinely loved my time there and will definitely go back!

It is a lovely cottage in a lovely village within a few mins walk.

The barn is lovely and spacious and has all amenities needed to make our stay. The only downside is the main bed is listed as a king bed but it didn’t seem like a king to us just a standard double bed and it was very uncomfortable.

Lovely comfortable converted barn full modern kitchen if needed, bathroom facilities excellent, comfortable bed (especially pillows) A wardrobe for hanging clothes would be better but pegs available for hanging The use of the paddock for a dog run was absolute the best, which is fantastic addition any dog holiday “ definitely recommend a stay”

The cottage was just what we wanted.

It was comfortable, well equipped and spotlessly clean. The paddock was the perfect place for exercising our dog. The weather was very wet but the cottage was so comfortable it wasn’t a hardship to just stay in and have a restful time.

We had a fantastic stay at Magnolia Barn.

It was spacious accommodation for me, my husband and my daughter. The field at the back was a great option for playing when at the house, but we spent a lot of time at the many attractions nearby. We loved Burnham-On-Sea, Cheddar and Weston Super Mare. Locally, the cider press restaurant did exquisite food and the local shop was great for any provisions we needed at home. Would definitely recommend.

We loved Magnolia Barn, very comfortable and quiet.

Centrally located for exploring Somerset. We travelled to Gastonbury, Cheddar, Wells, Weston Super Mare and Brean Sands. All fabulous for dogs walks. The Barn was clean, beds supper comfortable and water pressure for showers, spot on. The paddock was brilliant for our fur boy to stretch his legs first thing and last thing at night, he loves to sniff! Ate out a couple of times, Goose and Fox lovely, as was the local garden centre and Ollie's, all happy for dogs to accompany you. Garden Centre had a pets corner in case you forgot anything. Indian in Wedmore, table 8 had an amazing selection, including vegetarians. Honestly would recommend to anyone looking to get away to Somerset. Main road can get busy, and doesn't have a footpath for the first part, worth noting but wasn't an issue.

We had a lovely stay at Magnolia barn beautifully presented & very clean a great big kitchen and nice front room with 2 bedrooms large double with an en-suite and another with 2 single beds and a large bathroom.

There was an outside courtyard which was all enclosed which our dog loved and then behind the house was a paddock field all enclosed which was perfect for walking our dog and had access to the country lanes and a 10 minute walk to the pub & village shop & lots of great walk. Ideally situated for Brean and Burnham on sea Cheddar Gorge & Ebbor Gorge & Wells Cathedral city. We would highly recommend this as a lovely place to stay.

Lovely cottage in a peaceful and easy to find location.

Lots of space for just the two of us staying. Modern facilities, very clean and well maintained. Second year we have stayed here and will definitely stay again.

We had a wonderful few days at Magnolia Barn.

Such a perfect cosy home from home. The barn is very well equipped and sofa and beds so comfy and inviting. Lots of reading matter for rainy days.Village shop nearby for emergency supplies. Adjoining padlock was brilliant for early morning and night runs for our dog. The dog especially liked lying out in the large kitchen. We had such a good stay, would certainly recommend and very much hope to return.

What a treat!

We loved Magnolia Barn from the moment we arrived. This was our first holiday since getting a dog and we couldn’t have chosen a better cottage. The cottage itself was spotlessly clean, lovely and warm and cosy and had everything we needed. The use of the paddock to exercise the dog was really appreciated too. We discovered some lovely walks in the area (Cheddar Gorge, Brent Knoll and Brean Down being the highlights) and a stunning Beach at Brean. Also recommend a visit to Wells.

Great location as a base to visit main points of interest. Access to the owners paddock a bonus for our dog, fir the first and last walk of the day. Highly recommend Magnolia Barn, beautiful place.

What a beautiful place to stay.

I'd never been to that area of the country and my wife has had many holidays there and wanted to go. I found this barn online and thought it looked nice. When we arrived it was so much better than the photos, loads of room for us and the dog. Also very large field to walk your dogs. We had a great break and would go back.

Good size accomodation with well equiped kitchen and quality bathrooms and bedrooms.

Also great to have access to the field at the back to exercise doggies. The only drawback is the outdated/size of the tv in the lounge (too small) and not having one in the bedroom. Also having access to sky, netflicks or movies for days when the weather is bad would add to this accomodation and made us not leave the property a day early.

Upon booking there was no mention of the accommodation beingmon two floors hence why we booked this as wife has a bad back.

Disappointed upon arrival but a lovely cottage. The settee and chair dated and uncomfortable similar problen with the beds...The en suite was a nightmare to have a shower as minimal space to access the bath. Other issues just want be booking again......

A beautiful cottage, very comfortable with all we needed to feel at home.

Some nice touches with milk in the fridge & tea/coffee available when we arrived. Plenty of information about the property & surroundings with lots of ‘to do’ leaflets to help us plan our days. The field to exercise the dog was a godsend as was the information about the walking routes. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone.

The barn is absolutely beautiful and the paddock very handy to walk our dog. The beds were very comfy and we had everything we needed for our stay. The barn is very handy for visiting the beaches at Burnham on Sea & Weston Super Mare. Wedmore & Cheddar are not too away far either. We found the decor tired in some parts of the barn. There was no broom to sweep the kitchen floor and the vacuum was full. The smell coming from it wasn't very nice either. The sofa had visible marks on it. The shower in the main bathroom could do with a deep clean. The shower head was dirty. Just needs a little tlc.

Beautiful property and very clean.

Loved the paddock for morning and evening exercise for my dog. Perfectly situated for getting out and about in Somerset. I would highly recommend this property and would definitely stay again. A pint of milk on arrival would have been lovely.

We found the "barn" to be a very comfortable and well equipped property.

Extremely dog friendly property, with the access to the paddock being a bonus. Excellent base to explore Eastern Somerset. Lucy and Mike are a lovely couple, who should be congratulated in providing a perfect home from home.

Magnolia barn is a lovely place we take several cottage holiday each year and found magnolia barn very tired and in need of some TLC in places.

We did not use any pots or pans as they were not at all clean and needed replacing. Not enough towels only 1 small bath towel each. Although paddock for dog was amazing.

Great location and lovely and private cottage.

Not overlooked and the courtyard was a lovely touch as secure for our dog. The use of the owners field was great as well. No soap in the main bathroom, ensuite has the tiniest bit in the bottom so we ended up just using the kitchen soap. No welcome basket which isn't necessary but a nice touch. There isn't much storage in the kitchen for cereal and things we bought, would be great to just have a free shelf or something to pop these on and a spoon rest for tea spoons would be good

We have stayed at numerous holiday cottages around England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Eire over the years and Magnolia Barn ticked all the boxes and we would rate it as the best we've stayed in.

It was comfortable, clean, well equipped and generally of a very high standard.

no locks on any bathroom doors, downstairs toilet window waist height and clear glass can look straight in from outside sofas hard not soft and luxurious driveway very uneven and dangerous my wife tripped in a hole and dislocated her shoulder so we had to leave in emergency on the last day not even a welcome note to say have a nice stay no instructions for heating control ,kept turning on in middle of the night otherwise we had a good time

Perfect spot for us nature lovers!

Being a winter break the cottage was lovely and warm too. Everything we needed there, dishwasher was a nice touch. Maybe a small drawer unit could be added under the sink for our food supplies, but other than that it was perfect. Would recommend.

Perfectly situated for ease of travel. We loved our New Year stay so much we've booked to stay again. We are torn between recommending Magnolia Barn to everyone and keeping it as our secret!

Everything you needed was there, including a well equipped kitchen. We had a great stay and we will be back.

A really lovely property.

Very nice area. We found it very good for going out to different places to visit. Cheddar Gorge was not far away and beautiful. The only problem we had was it got a bit chilly in the evening and we couldn’t find out how to put the heating on for awhile,yet we was leaving on Saturday morning and the heating came on ,how we do not know.There was no instructions for the heating which should of been in the welcome book. Overall a very lovely place to stay

We found the property to be one of the cleanest we have stayed in and the comfort and fittings were really good .

Personally the mattress was too firm for us but that's not to say other guests would agree . The paddock at the rear for dogs was great ,very private and enclosed for dogs off lead. The property was very private and we were not disturbed by the owners next door overall great place to stay.Having a good TV that actually worked was a bonus

A wonderful week away in pure peace and quiet

Our 3rd visit to the property, as always excellent.

Will be back for a 4th very soon.

No where on the listing did it say that dogs were not allowed upstairs or on the sofa.

We always take sofa covers and our own bed covers as our dog always goes on the sofa and sleeps with us. It also didn’t say in the advert that our dog couldn’t stay in the house alone. So we went out for 2 hours in the morning and then he slept all day as usual but we literally had nothing to do all day as couldn’t leave him. This is not a dog friendly property in my opinion

We stayed at Magnolia Barn for a week and it was lovely.

Peaceful location, and you can get to some nice places in a 20 minute drive. Our dog loved running around in the large paddock. The accommodation was very cosy, comfortable and clean. One of our favourite places we have stayed in and would love to come back here again one day.

We stayed for five nights in this cottage and really enjoyed our stay.

It was clean warm and quite well equipped it had every thing we needed including comfy sofas and a dining table to eat the beds are also very comfy so a good nights sleep was no problem. It was nice to have a nice table and chairs to sit on outside when the weather was nice. It has a long paddock at the back to have a walk or exercise your furry friend. You can do more of a walk around the loop beyond the paddock which you can reach the the white heart pub easier than walking along the main road (not open every day). The owners are friendly and helpful if needed but very good at letting you have privacy and don’t bother you. The cottage has a good size space for your car or two. It’s a fantastic location if you want to visit places like Chedder Gorge or Glastonbury and Wells etc. We would definitely come back and stay in this lovely cottage again.

A lovely well appointed cottage which was spotlessly clean on our arrival.

It is located ideally for visiting the many attractions that this part of Somerset has to offer. The only slightly negative comment I would have is that the other outbuildings that the cottage looks out on would benefit from being tidied up a bit

We had a lovely stay, the cottage is modern and comfortable while being cosy and retaining a country cottage feel.

Was exceptionally clean. Kitchen was fantastic and spacious and overlooked the courtyard which would be wonderful in the summer. The use of the owners field to exercise our dog was a bonus. Highly recommended.

The hosts were very friendly and helpful without being obtrusive. Would definitely stay again if visiting the area.

We had a problem with the kitchen tap when we first arrived.

The owner was helpful and we resolved it ourselves, but I would recommend replacement with a simpler design. The heating was very uneven, with some rooms very warm but the kitchen / dining room was very poorly served by the heating. The exterior garden wall was very shabby. Overall, it was fairly comfortable and the two nearest pubs served reasonable food.

The cottage was wonderful, very comfortable, warm and well equipped.

It was ideal for us and my elderly mother with the bathroom so close to the second bedroom. We all slept well in the comfortable beds and enjoyed a peaceful week in the countryside. Only a short drive to Burnham for shops and a brisk walk along the seafront.

Great little cosy cottage in a pretty village.

Useful for us as we were visiting family nearby. Lovely meal in The Packhorse Inn in Mark, I am sure we will book again in the next year.

This is the 2nd time in 4 months we have stayed here and it didn't disappoint again.

Absolutely love it here. So quiet and relaxing with everything you need. Amazing property wondering surroundings. We will be back again for sure.

A wonderful week in a fantastic location.

A lovely cottage, extremely clean and in a very nice setting, we had a small dog so the paddock at the rear of the property was excellent.

A couple of minor negatives were, the main shower took an age to fully drain, tv could have been slightly larger and a chopping board in the kitchen would have been useful, on the whole a lovely place to stay.

Stayed for a week with my daughter and dog,the cottage is lovely and clean and well equipped,the paddock at the back is a great space too,and if you walk out of the bottom gate of the paddock the White Horse pub is only a 10 minute walk(definitely recommend a meal there)!

.also the bakery in the village do gorgeous pastries!. Would love to return to magnolia barn,another fabulous Sykes cottage.

The property was just as described and we had everything that we needed to enjoy our stay.

The property was beautiful and the facilities including the patio and garden areas were perfect. We found the village of Mark to be perfect for our holiday requirements, a local post office and shop, the village playground and the White Horse Inn which was walking distance and was fantastic location with amazing food and gardens. We will return!

Huge paddock at the back to walk the dog and through the gate at the bottom was a pleasant circular walk to the village of Mark. This property is well situated to visit many different places, can highly recommend the Bishops Palace at Wells, stunning gardens and building, and Break Down beach and headland

Lovely spacious main bedroom, although a wardrobe would have been good instead of hooks on the wall.

2nd bedroom a very tight fit if 2 adults were sharing and only contained 2 single beds and a dressing table. Location very good, our dog enjoyed use of owners paddock and it was lovely sitting in the sunny court yard for lunch. Excellent standard of cleanliness through out with good shower and bathroom facilities. Few extra bits of kitchen equipment would be useful. Overall a good property, centrally located for days out and true to description advertised.

The house was fabulously clean and the owners really friendly and available if needed.

We had a lovely Easter break with the children and dog, enjoying the surrounding sites. The local pub (White Horse) was excellent with great food and we had a laugh playing foot golf with the owner. Sadly we had to leave a night early and didn't manage to say goodbye but we would like to say thank you for having us in your lovely property and letting us get on with our holiday.

Very nice place comfortable and clean good location

We have just returned from 5 days and we have absolutely loved it.

Really relaxing, clean tidy cottage. Lovely quiet area. Really good having the paddock for the dog. We have just received booked for August.

The cottage was a great conversion, perfect quiet location, had a comfortable and stylish feel, the bathrooms were exceptional, however when we arrived we expected a welcome pack of some sort, providing some basic initial necessities, such as milk, sugar, salt and pepper, tea/coffee and dishwashing products.

It may sound trivial but means a lot as when you've had a long journey, as do most of your guests, we've experienced this at other properties, for a small outlay it would make quite a difference, you want to relax and take a breather before going to do a groceries shop. It always felt warm and cosy despite near freezing conditions outside. Great village pub at the white horse,

A lovely conversion and well appointed.

Large kitchen/dining area. Four adults might find sitting room very cosy. Excellent location to explore the area. The use of the paddock to give dog first walk of day was especially welcome. Close to good and important birding sites. Good village pub though not open every day. The village bakery proved irresistible. With great village shop selling wide range of goods including plants from local growers. Hosts friendly and welcoming.

Loved staying, although a couple of small basics would help.

Usually when you go to cottages there is washing up liquid in the kitchen and hand wash in the bathroom/cloakroom. Otherwise fabulous accommodation!

Comfortable cottage, great field for walking the dog.

Two good pubs within walking distance ( part of the walk along the road with limited footpath, best done in day light) We were four adults staying, it would probably be more suitable for two adults and two children. I would recommend staying there

First class property, nothing you could have any issue with, owners very friendly too, enjoyed our stay

Downstairs was excellent, with a nice large kitchen/diner with doors to a west facing courtyard, so a nice sunny aspect if the weather is good.

The lounge was also a good size with a comfortable sofa and chair. WiFi was excellent and it was easy to stream programs on the smart TV or on our own devices. Upstairs, the main shower room was large and very stylish, with a superb large shower. However we found the bedrooms rather disappointing - the main bedroom was in the eaves, with only two very small windows, so we felt that the room was rather claustrophobic. The en suite bathroom was also very small and the bath was short and difficult to get into and out of. The second bedroom was brighter but there was very little space around the beds. Storage in the bedrooms consisted of a chest of drawers but no wardrobe, just a few hooks on the wall. The location is excellent - Mark is a great village with two pubs, a post office/general store and a bakery. It is also a great centre for a holiday, with lots of places to visit in all directions. Wedmore is only a couple of miles to the east, and Wells about 10 miles away, both are worth a visit. You are also on the Somerset Levels, so can see for miles around and it is great areas for bird watching - we saw lots of starlings on our trip and the murmurations in the area are famous. The coast is only 15 minutes away and Bath and Bristol are in easy reach.

Magnolia Barn was so comfortable especially the beds and sofa.

It was a nice surprise to see the amount of space for our dog to run around outside. It was warm and always hot water. So useful with a downstairs loo. Well placed for roads in all directions. The highlight of my holiday was the Fleet Air Arm Museum and I wasn,t the one who waned to visit. All such heroes. .

The property was lovely, it is kept spotlessly clean, the use of the paddock was an extra bonus, our dog loved it, the property is quite central to get to many other places.

We found it was necessary for one of us to stand on the road outside of the property and signal when it was safe to pull out onto the road because hedges blocked the drivers' view in both directions.

Not a major problem, but would hate to do this when it was raining! Apart from this, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The night sky in this area is marvellous due to the complete absence of light pollution, just wish I'd taken my telescope! Our visit to the Apex leisure and wildlife park at Burnham on Sea was very enjoyable, even the parking was free!

Magnolia Barn was a perfect base for exploring Somerset.

It was very comfortable and had definatley home from home.

Pretty much ideal for what we wanted.

Very comfortable cottage and excellent grounds for us to walk (and train) our young dog. Nicely placed to use as a base for visits to Weston Super Mare and Cheddar Gorge.

Very comfortable and well kept cottage, only point is that extra glasses and tableware would have been useful.

Easy reach of local pub, shop and bakery. Lots of information in folder so everything was clearly laid out. Paddock was excellent for the dog for early morning play before heading out for the day.

We had a fantastic time.

The Barn was lovely and extremely comfy. We had everything we needed plus the benefit of lovely surroundings. The couple that owned the barn were only next door, and were really friendly and attentive to our needs. The Barn had a fantastic homely feel, with a cozy snug living room, gorgeous kitchen that brought the outside in, and really comfy beds that I would like to have at home (but I have still never quite managed to achieve that lovely hotel feel). The area was great, really easy to get to beautiful places like Cheddar, Wells, and Glastonbury, as well as the coast. The village had great local pubs within walking distance (10 mins at a very lazy stroll), but there were also other places to eat in beautiful surroundings and great food within a 15 minute drive. We would definitely recommend Magnolia Barn as a lovely place to stay and hope to visit again. Thank you from Rachael, Andy and Caitlin .

Beautiful cottage, very clean and comfortable.

Plenty of room for the three of us and the dog. Living room would have been too small for four people to sit in comfort. Ideal location as a base to explore, only 5 minutes from the M5, close to some great beaches and beautiful countryside. Our only criticism would be that the kitchen could have been slightly better equipped - not many pans, and an extra few plates would have made a difference.

The property is on a very busy road so could do with a mirror opposite to help get out of the driveway.

It was pure home from home , everything there that we needed , beds and sofa very comfy we would highly recommend it as there are lots of places to visit Jean ,Stewart ,Katy & Sherri .

We loved Magnolia Barn.

So peaceful. It is much more spacious than it looks on the photos. The beds are super comfy with lovely cool linen. We enjoyed the lollipop walk from the barn/paddock around the village. The 2 village pubs are outstanding for food and make you very welcome. Perfect if you want to escape for some relaxation.

A lovely property, comfortable and well equipped whilst still retaining a cosy atmosphere with plenty to do locally as well as attractions to visit further afield.

We were lucky to enjoy some warm weather during our stay and the courtyard was a real suntrap. Will look forward to returning in the future!
