Cosy yet spacious cottage on the edge of the village, ideal for the solo traveller Large kitchen diner with washer/dryer and fridge freezer.
Great walks through woodland and lanes, with the Ship pubs in Porlock and Porlock Weir serving hearty meals to revive you
Such a lovely cottage, I would recommend it thoroughly, so clean and beautifully decorated.
I was fascinated by the amazing Fox pictures. Just two tiny things, could do with a black out blind in the bedroom, street light very bright but you do get used to it as the days go by. And the sofa could do with an upgrade.
Overall, the cottage was fine.
Situated pretty much in the centre of the village and great for dogs with the village rec. ground opposite - with a really good dog walking area. However, car parking was a bit of a challenge. Two criticisms though. On arrival we were very suprised to find no "welcome pack". No milk, tea, sugar, coffee, or anything else. If there is not going to be a welcome pack of some basics then at least warn us before arrival! As it was, upon our arrival, the first thing we had to do was to find a shop that was still open. The other criticism is the rear terrace. It was very unkempt and utilitarian. A great pity. It really let the place down. It had a lot of tree/leaf debris - a really ratty old brush had been left out for you to clear it up yourself - which left more debris than it cleared - and there were several dead plants in pots scattered around, with a watering can that had clearly not been used for a rather long time! So, perhaps a little lacking in general housekeeping?
