Description

Staple Fitzpaine is a quintessential English conservation village of cottages, almshouses, a church and a pub, set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty at the foot of the Blackdown Hills.

In the heart of the village is Sunnyside, a detached converted barn in the grounds of the owners' home, totally secluded with its own pretty, enclosed patio and garden.

The lovely open plan living area has a high raftered ceiling, wooden floors and full height picture windows and patio doors which allow the sun to flood in, giving the cottage its name.

The cottage has level access, wide doorways and a walk-in shower, making it a suitable choice for guests with limited mobility.

In addition to the double bedroom, a sofa bed is provided in the lounge.

Sunnyside, set in one and a half acres of grounds, including gardens, woodland, a summer house and stream, all of which you are welcome to use.

The adjoining fields have open access enabling visitors to enjoy the wildlife, flora and fauna.

What a delightful cottage!

We had an amazing time at Sunnyside, relaxed, kicked back and let the quietness envelop us. The lounge was cosy, the bed was comfy, the little garden was private and all amenities were to hand. Diane, the host was very friendly and made us and our dog extremely welcome. Whilst there we ate out, cooked in, walked, strolled through the grounds and of course visited Cheddar Gorge and the beautiful Wells. Perry’s and Sheppy Cider Mills are a must. Sunnyside offers a lovely, relaxing holiday at a realistic cost.

We stayed for 6 nights in August as we came to visit family nearby and needed dog friendly accomodation.

We also came with our 4yo daughter. It was very suitable for our needs, it felt very cosy. The grounds are lovely, perfect for bringing a dog. Plus the pub nearby sells lovely food and also very dog friendly. I worked remotely from here too and the internet managed fine for my needs. It was perfect for what we wanted.

The cottage was charming.

The owner very helpful and friendly and the gardens are delightful. A quiet retreat away from everything yet close enough to facilities to be handy. Great pub within easy walking distance. If you visit go to Lyme Regis for a day. Lovely sea side town some quaint shops too. It was a good break in pleasant surroundings
