Archie's is situated in the heart of Minehead, a bustling coastal town lying on the south bank of the Bristol Channel.
With designated parking for one car, an enclosed rear courtyard with outdoor seating, and a collection of well-presented interiors set across the ground-floor, this lovely apartment is perfectly-positioned close to nearby shops and pubs, making an idyllic base for a small family or group of friends seeking a relaxing, fuss-free stay by the Somerset seaside.
Step into your charming new abode, wherein you'll discover a well-appointed, open-plan living space, featuring a fully-equipped kitchen where the chosen chef can rustle up delicious, home-cooked feasts, a dining area with a table seating four, and a sitting space with an elegant Smart TV.
When day rolls into night, retreat to the bathroom to indulge with a soak in the bath before you finally retire for a much-needed rest in either an inviting king-size with an accompanying en-suite, or a twin bedroom If you can tear yourself from your tranquil new home, set out on foot to discover more of what Minehead has to offer.
A brief walk into town will bring you to a plethora of convenience stores and supermarkets where you can stock up on essentials, a variety of independent pubs and restaurants including The Hairy Dog, The Quay Inn, and The Old Ship Aground, as well as the must-visit spots of the Blenheim Gardens, Splash Waterworld, and the beautiful Minehead Seafront.
Further afield, spend a full day out exploring the countless wonders of the Exmoor National Park, whether that's snapping shots of Robber's Bridge, hopping onboard a ride along the Lynton & Lynmouth Cliff Railway, getting up close and personal with aviary wildlife at the Exmoor Owl & Hawk Centre, or even embarking on a scenic hike through the areas of Dunkery Beacon or Hurlstone Point.
There is also an 18 hole golf course for which day passes can be purchased.
Opposite the beach, you will find the Somerset West Steam Railway.

Lovely single floor accommodation that was spotlessly clean and comfortable.
The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed, and the location was perfect, just a short walk from Minehead High Street and the beach. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Ground floor apartment with easy access and good location.
Facilities good,could do with a sharper cutting knife. Traffic noise could be a problem for late risers. Lovely welcoming basics,bread,butter milk,tea,coffee,a nice cake.Thank you. Overall,we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Thank you for your review. We will take a look at the knives in the kitchen and replace if necessary. The road passing the rear of the property is a one way road so we are surprised to hear that you were disturbed by the noise as this is not on a main route and is positioned away from the main road through the town. We provide a complimentary welcome pack so that guests have the basics on their arrival without needing to go directly out to the shops.

Archies was spotless. Beds were really comfortable. The welcome pack which included home made lemon drizzle cake was super. There was even a dog bed and blanket left for my assistance dog Will certainly be booking again. Thank you for a wonderful stay Sandra, Julie, and Buddy.

Nick and Melanie's house Archies was the perfect stay for for us when visiting our great grandchildren.
The house had everything and more than we required, Fresh fruit, Chocolate biscuits ,milk eggs and butter as a welcome gift. So no shopping on arrival. The house was spotless and everything was in it's place. We couldn't find fault with anything as everything had been thought out. You have your own parking space, and the building is secure. Archies is a place that we would gladly tell people about for a stay. The kids loved it as we did. Thank you for a wonderful stay and hope to see you again soon Mark, Denise, Eva and Vinnie

We are lucky that the flat is located so conveniently to the beach, the high street and shops as well as the local eateries and only a short distance from Exmoor. Dear Marian thank you for your review. We feel there is greater risk for people forgetting to leave us both sets of keys so we suggest that the key safe already in situ could be used by 2 sets of guests if necessary. if guests are returning at different times then the key would be easily accessible
Very clean property and only a short walk from town center and the seafront.
Direct access to property around the back through a narrow unlit passageway but you need to climb over a small wall. Minehead itself was lovely and a total surprise! We went out of season so didn't encounter many people from Butlins next door.
Thanks Sean. We would always advise our guests to access the property from the main front entrance through the communal doorway from the car park and into the building. Where you will find the front door entrance to the flat directly accessible. . As you say the rear entrance is not the usual entrance so we are surprised to hear that you attempted this route. We are pleased that you found the location convenient to Minehead town center and all its amenities, restaurants and sites.

This was our second time at Archies and won't be the last.
Great accommodation and close to all amenities. Even with Butlins on the doorstep and security in the pubs (at the weekend) it is so quiet. The hosts kindly provided well for basic food provision which was really nice not just for us but the dog also. Perhaps one of the Best accommodation that we have ever stayed at in all the 20 years plus that we have used Sykes. Thank you!
Thank you for your kind comments. We like to be able to offer some basic provisions to guests who may have just ended a long journey. We do believe that the location great, with the town, beach and West Somerset railway all within an easy stroll.

This flat has everything you could wish for including comfortable beds great bathrooms and a nice kitchen. we are going to book this venue again. ps you also get your own parking place

In fact I myself will be doing that when I meet a colleague of mine as they were looking to stay in the area at some time in the near future. The welcome pack was very useful when we arrived and the orange cake was delicious.

We really enjoyed our stay at Archies.
The welcome pack was great to start off, the place was clean and comfortable with great facilities - everything you need with plenty to spare whether towels or kitchen utensils etc. Good size TV, comfy beds, 2 bathrooms were ideal and being all on ground floor was ideal for my elderly mum. It may be just a few steps away from the shops and bars but you really wouldn't know, it's nice and quiet. We know the area well so loved walks and visits to places like Dunster, Lynmouth, Porlock, Horner Woods etc and enjoyed runs along the prom in Minehead. We would definitely recommend Archies for anyone wanting to stay in the area.

As you say it is a quiet residential neighborhood with off street private secure parking so you can feel relaxed and comfortable during your stay.
lovely apartment, either near the beach or shops,nice touch of a cake, plus milk, cheese, etc even for our dog.
we did have concerns how hot the water were inthe taps, could be dangerous, with children, also just a bit of a tidy up on the patio,and where was the tv for the second bedroom.
Thank you for your comments,. we have contacted the residents association about the outside space and prompted them to ensure that the garden and outside spaces are tidied up. We have had our handyman take a look at the thermostat thank you for bringing this to our attention. This should now be resolved. Lovely apartment very clean and comfortable.
The court yard could have been better, has it definitely needs some TLC. Very close to the shops, restaurants and sea front which was ideal. Great that a car space was provided. The owners provided us with a lovely selection of goodies. Milk, cheese, eggs, bread, chocolate biscuits and a really lovely cake. This was a lovely surprise thank you.

This was our second stay at Archie’s.
It was clean and comfortable. It’s such a convenient location, handy for the sea front and the High Street. The bathrooms are good and the water extremely hot ( temperature of water could be turned lower as groundwater this time of year is warm to start with). We really enjoyed our relaxing stay. The apartment is very quiet. We would definitely stay here again if in Minehead.

A beautiful apartment very close to the Minehead town centre. I look forward to a return visit, which says it all. 2. I must also mention that, due to confusion between my brother and myself, I left my rucksack behind. We were contacted promptly and I then spoke to the owner, transferred £25 by bank transfer to him, and it was returned to me safely is a secure box by Royal Mail special delivery. Fantastic customer service.
It is good to hear that you both enjoyed your stay at Archies and you found the location convenient to the centre of Minehead and all its attractions and are planning to return in the future. We understand that clearing up and packing to return home can be a bit stressful and belongings can be overlooked. We strive to ensure that we can return them to their owners as promptly as possible.

Archies is a very well laid out apartment all on one level, beautifully modern, clean and tastefully attractive.
The beds, the sofa and chairs were really comfortable, especially the recliner. The ensuite and the bathroom with underfloor heating and space for our toiletries, along with heated towel rails, meant the thick white towels were warm when one emerged from enjoying an invigorating shower or a bath. Everything we needed for a happy visit, and more, was provided including milk, eggs, bread and biscuits, making us feel very welcome. The orange cake was beyond delicious! The kitchen was really well equipped, with thoughtful provision of space for our own items. The designated car parking space was great. We were concerned that, being close to the town centre, we might be troubled by noise but not a bit of it, it was as quiet and peaceful as the countryside. Minehead itself has an attractive main street, and we enjoyed eating local fish and chips while walking along the sea front. We also enjoyed a couple of good meals at The Old Ship Aground. On holiday we like to explore and at Archies we were spoilt for choice. We went to Dunster Castle, lived in since 1066, which is on the doorstep, then we travelled through the glorious Exmoor scenery to Arlington Court and Carriage Museum. The description of Barrington Court having “glorious garden rooms” drew us there and we weren’t disappointed. Likewise, we felt we were privileged to walk around Cleeve Abbey, a nearby medieval monastery with its magnificent tiled floor dating from around 1270. Every day we found fabulous places to visit and make wonderful memories all thanks to staying at Archies, the perfect property, base, and hosts. Maureen
What an absolute gem!
A clean comfortable well equipped ground floor flat. It is so close to shops, pubs, restaurants, bus stop, the beach and Heritage steam railway station (free to wander around the platforms) yet in a quiet residential location. The scenic countryside around is a delight and it has good access to Exmoor National Park. We would highly recommend Archie’s, did not want to leave and hope to visit again. Thankyou for allowing us to stay and also for the very generous welcome pack.

Wonderful apartment ideal for 2 couples.
So comfortable, very quiet even though on main road towards the seafront. Loved all the little extras that were left for us. Only one issue which I wasn't aware of until we were leaving, the shower in the main bathroom didn't switch to the shower function. I wasn't using it, otherwise I would have rung the owner before. We would definitely co e back and recommend to friends and family. This part of Minehead has everything we could ask for.

We try to make our guests feel comfortable and at home when they arrive after their travel journey and find that a welcome pack with some of the essentials means that they can make a simple meal if they need to without going out to the shops again. This is our second visit to Archie's.
Well equipped and clean and close to shops and town centre.The welcome pack and cake was lovely.The only negative 's were the bamboo toilet rolls and the side ov the garden needs tidying.And and needs lighting down side to the back.
Thanks Chris for your feedback we will attend to the side access , with all the wet weather the plant growth has certainly become a bit wilder than we would like. We our trying to do our bit by using the bamboo toilet paper which is more sustainable in the long run but we appreciate that it this sort of thing is personal taste. Thanks for your comments
Archie’s was in a most convenient position in the town.
We could be on the Avenue in 5 minutes and on the sea front in another 2. The apartment was very clean and comfortable and the welcome groceries and cake was a lovely surprise. Having a parking space was great. We would definitely book Archie’s if staying in Minehead again.

We try to make guests feel welcome and able to relax into your holiday break as soon as you arrive. The Welcome pack items which provides you with the basics ( plus some homemade cake) means you dont have to rush off to the shops. You can sit down with a cuppa and a slice of homemade cake with you feet up .
We had the best time.
The place was perfect. Well equipped and very clean. My party were impressed so much so we’re looking to book again! Didn’t like the brown toilets paper but that’s only concern!! lol the little touches like equipment for my dog were totally appreciated and he loved the bed and use of the bowls! Fabulous thank you
We are glad that you found all the facilities for both human and dogs made you relax into your holiday and feel 'at home'. Just to say that the 'brown toilet paper' is actually bamboo paper - which is more sustainable and easier to biodegrade than the bleached domestic supermarket sell, we try to do our bit for the planet. We are aware that this is not everyone's taste. It would be great if you wanted to book another stay as you know there are plenty of things to do and see across Exmoor and around about Minehead.
Very nice flat, very well appointed and a warm welcome from the owner.
The only minor detail one should know is that due to the flat being on the ground floor and the property being surrounded by walls all around one does always look out onto these walls (over a small terrace with a courtyard feeling to it). All of that is described on the website, but we did not realise it. So it was pretty much our own fault. All in all a great place to stay in Minehead with very easy access to the town centre and all amenities.
Archie's is a lovely well equipped and comfortable apartment, everything is as good as new and very clean.
The welcome food pack was generous and much appreciated. We didn't get to use the outside area as the weather was showery and gloomy. The property is on a potentially busy road, but we didn't notice any traffic noise.
We are pleased you enjoyed the apartment. We want our guests to be able to settle in easily. Minehead is a vibrant place and Archie's is a short walk to the amenities, yet secluded.

Very generous food starter pack.Happy to revisit it. Kitchen generally well stocked but needs more small Saucepans ( loads frying pans) and more 1/2 pint drinking glasses ( loads wine glasses) . Small points that would definitely improve the experience to an even higher level.

Couple of suggestions.
Hook on back of bathroom door. Toothbrush holders at side of mirror. Thanks for welcome pack - cake enjoyed other things very useful. The lantern blew down. Nightlight in ensuite bedroom was very useful as my sister has mobility issues. Really comfortable beds. Meant to check out the make of the mattresses

A very comfortable apartment that feels like home from home.
Very will situated in the heart of Minehead. The essentials provided (tea, milk, butter etc.) were much appreciated and more than you normally expect (thanks for the homemade cake!). A lovely holiday apartment that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
