Erika “We have just returned from a most lovely weeks holiday at Crosscombe barn.”
We stayed with another couple and found the property exactly as described and extremely comfortable and well equipped. We loved the countryside views from the window, the peace and quiet, the space and the fact that so many lovely places are within easy reach. Would highly recommend.

Gerald “We had a lovely stay in Crosscombe Barn.”
The property was fantastic in every way you could not wish for more, comfortable sofa's, chairs, well equipped kitchen and lovely dining area. Beds were comfortable, lovely bathroom and en suite as well. We are thinking about going back next year.
- Gerald, August 2023Thank you so much for your lovely comments. We are so happy you enjoyed your stay at Crosscombe Barn. Many thanks also for taking the time to share with us your comments. Property Owner
John “We had such a wonderful stay.”
The Barn is beautiful.... really well equipped, clean and spacious with amazing views.
- John, May 2023Sima “Spacious and well equipped.”
The furniture were quite comfortable though the main sofas were quite itchy. The showers are not satisfactory; the one in the en-suite does not drain well so we didn’t use it. The screenshower in the main bathroom didn’t stop the water soaking the floor. The vent in the bathroom cannot cope with the amount of steam created by the shower. The toilet seat in the en-suite was not fixed well, rather loose. The beds are very soft and not at all good support for sleeping. The place itself was peaceful and quite easy to access. On the whole it was OK.
- Sima, September 2022Thank you for your feedback, I’m sorry you didn’t have a very good holiday and that the property was not satisfactory. We will endeavour to correct the issues mentioned. As you can see from the feedback from past guests they have enjoyed the barn. Property Owner
Kevin “Outstanding property - the best self-catering property we have stayed in in 25 years.”

Rita “Crosscombe Barn is a lovely property, very well equipped with everything you could need on your holiday.”
Spacious accommodation and a lovely garden.
- Rita, June 2022Matthew “This cottage is in a great location with many places to visit a short car journey away.”
It was one of the cleanest and well equipped cottages we have stayed in. Only thing that would have been a great help for us with a toddler would have been a high chair and stair gate as the property has the living room upstairs, we ended up taking our own high chair and placing two chairs in front of the stairs. Apart from that a great property and we would recommend it to anyone.
- Matthew, May 2022Thank you so much for your lovely comments and we are very happy you enjoyed your stay at our barn. We always appreciate suggestions and will look into the possibility of stair gates and a high chair. Property Owner
Amy “This was our second visit to Crosscombe Barn and we loved it just as much the second time!”
The views are spectacular, the kitchen well-equipped, the bedrooms comfortable and the lounge with its log-burner warm and cosy. The barn is beautiful, with plenty of space for our family of four, and perfectly placed for exploring the gorgeous scenery and beaches of the South Hams. We hope to be back soon!
- Amy, March 2022We are so glad you had a lovely holiday and thank you for the great feedback. Kind regards Nick and Suzanne. Property Owner
George “One of the best holidays we have ever had, The Barn is spacious and is designed and furnished to a very high standard.”
Nothing has been forgotten in the provision of everything that is necessary to provide a first rate holiday base. The Barn is ideally situated to explore this corner of Devon.
- George, March 2022Many thanks for the lovely feedback. We are so happy you enjoyed your stay at our barn.. Property Owner
Paul “Best equipped we’ve ever had, and we’ve had quite a few.”
- Paul, March 2022Anthony “Great place, we loved the layout of the house which gave a view across the valley.”
The barn is very well furnished, equipped and cleaned.
- Anthony, November 2021Matthew “We had a lovely stay in this wonderful converted barn with its beautiful views and excellent location.”
We found it very comfortable and well-equipped with everything we needed (and much more besides) and we would definitely return.
- Matthew, October 2021Amanda “Crosscombe Barn is ideally situated for exploring South Hams with all its beautiful river estuaries and lovely beaches.”
There are several National Trust houses and woods nearby to explore and historic Plymouth is within easy reach. We particularly enjoyed a cruise on the Dart and discovering scenic Salcombe and quaint Totnes. The barn itself is spacious and very comfortably equipped with quality furniture and fittings, including a desk with lots of little extras. There is extensive kitchen and dining equipment and everything we could possibly want and more for a self catering holiday was provided. Overall, it is a warm and welcoming individual character home with plenty of room for 6 guests. The garden is a delightful sun trap and was full of late summer flowers during our visit. The provision of a small kitchen in the utility room was an added bonus - it is an upside down house so it saved the legs when making drinks and snacks. The village shop is well stocked but Kingsbridge is only 10 minutes away. We would recommend the local garden centre and farm shop for excellent lunches and a bit of browsing. The Avon valley is an excellent walking area with lots of wildlife. The barn is in a quiet corner of Loddiswell and so we had a very peaceful and restful stay. The views across the hills were a joy to view from the lounge window seat. We thoroughly recommend this property and thank the owners for their thoughtfulness.
- Amanda, September 2021Stephen “The cottage far exceeded our expectations, spotlessly clean, homely and luxurious it had everything we needed.”
Fantastically equipped cottage, beautiful and peaceful garden, we loved our stay. Loads to do in the surrounding area, it couldn't have been more perfect. Thank you.
- Stephen, August 2021C “Crosscombe Barn is stunning!”
Set in the quiet village of Loddiswell, it’s a good location (close to Kingsbridge, Salcombe and the beaches). The Barn is beautifully and very tastefully furnished and equipped with everything you could possibly need (a home away from home). I couldn’t recommend this more, we can’t wait to return.
- C, July 2021Julie “Such a comfortable, well equipped house within a short drive of lovely beaches and walks.”
The country lanes are a test of driving skills. Not many facilities in the village itself.
- Julie, July 2021Christine “Beautiful cottage furnished and equipped to a very high standard, in a very lovely area with lots to see and do.”
- Christine, June 2021Sally “Could not wish for a better place to stay.”
Everything you could wish for.
- Sally, May 2021Ian “The converted barn was excellent, plenty of space and everything you need for a comfortable break.”
It is ideally place to tour Devon and if you wish to travel further Cornwall is only on the doorstep.
