Why book a cottage in Dittisham?

Situated on the River Dart, Dittisham is one of the most beautiful spots in Devon. If you want a relaxing Devon break then you can’t go wrong with booking a cottage in Dittisham. Sit on the quayside and watch the sailing boats head up and down the estuary. If you want to get involved then book a sailing lesson at one of the local centres.

There are a couple of excellent pubs and cafés in the village but if you want a wider choice of establishments just jump on the ferry to Dartmouth. Just on the opposite bank from Dittisham is Greenway House, the former residence of Agatha Christie and now owned by the National Trust. A Literary Festival takes place here in June featuring a host of bestselling writers.

Places to visit near Dittisham

Follow the course of the river up to the market town of Totnes. It has a wide variety of bohemian and independent shops as well as a Pannier Market, operating on Fridays and Saturdays. On the boundary of Dartmoor is the small town of Buckfastleigh. The main attraction is the Benedectine monastery of Buckfast Abbey.
