Why visit Shaldon?
Situated at the mouth of the River Teign is the beautiful village of Shaldon. The village has become an increasingly popular tourist resort in recent years and it’s not hard to see why.
Shaldon has two lovely sandy beaches to choose from - Shaldon Beach and Ness Cove Beach, which you access via the old Smuggler’s Tunnel. The village is well stocked with shops to explore and has several delightful pubs and restaurants to dine in.
Shaldon is on the South West Coast Path and has miles of coastline to explore. Walkers can enjoy a fabulous walk to Labrador Bay or continue all the way to Torquay!
Places to visit near Shaldon
On the opposite bank of the River Teign is the town of Teignmouth. Travel across the river on the Teign Ferry, possibly the oldest passenger in England. Farther inland is the market town of Newton Abbot. Explore the Pannier Market or spend the day at Decoy Country Park.
