Why book a cottage in Kingswear
The characterful village of Kingswear is set on the east bank of the River Dart opposite Dartmouth. You can cross between the two via a ferry service, which is in operation all year round. You can also reach the village by the Dartmouth Steam Railway which runs from Paignton and operates between April and October.
There are a number of local attractions to enjoy if you are on holiday in the area. Kingswear Castle is a 15th century artillery tower built to protect Dartmouth harbour. It was in operation until the 18th century and is now a private residence. Spend the day at Coleton Fishacre, a National Trust owned property with a 24-acre garden. The house was built in the Arts and Crafts style and has many Art Deco features.
