It's a privilege to lead a
team of such caring and interesting people. I’ve lived in Devon for most of my
life, briefly wandering to Scotland; eventually the irresistible temptation of
Dartmoor brought me back. HH is my family's business. I happily recall stuffing brochures into envelopes in front of ‘Lovejoy’ c1986, I've been here for 20 years and still learning.
I'm the Sales Office Manager, running the main booking office, and I'm one of the longer serving members of staff, having joined HH in 1998. I enjoy exploring the West Country when I'm not working, spending time on the beach and walking on Dartmoor with my two dogs.
I'm a member of a walking group in my local town which affords good exercise and panoramic views all year round, and particularly after work during the spring and summer, which is a mini break in itself, bringing home what a privilege it is to live in the South West.
grown up in Devon, I returned in 2005 to work in Marketing at HH. Having
married in 2004, I also came home to start a family and now have two children,
Amelie and Joshua, and a dog called Jake. I love to travel and two years ago I
took up running and recently completed my first half marathon.
I first discovered the beauty of Devon over forty years ago
when camping near Salcombe, immediately falling in love with the South Hams and returning
year after year before moving my family here 14 years ago. The West
Country has that effect on you. When not penning words for HH, I
while away hours on the most beautiful cricket grounds in the
I'm the newbie on the HH team, having joined in March 2015. I've been living in Exeter for the past decade. With a background in online marketing, I'm responsible for most of HH's internet marketing activities. Married with two kids, I spend most of my free time messing about with them and our four year old lab retriever.
Ex carpet fitter, I managed to blag my way into design by pretending I was someone else entirely. I love painting, drawing and all things vintage. I'm a bell tent glamper, no sleeping bag or airbeds for this boy! I am also a black belt at picnics.
Passionate about the West Country, which produces some fantastic food and wines in an outstanding landscape, I love living in Devon and sampling all the above. I enjoy nothing more then gathering friends and family and dogs, going for long walks and discovering country pubs for lunch, then hiking home.
I took a temporary summer job at HH after teaching in Africa and here I am 18 years later! Tussling with errant but entertaining ponies, bantams and children are daily adventures, as well as gardening for elusive village show ribbons. I juggle words for HH, notorious for red pen and pedantry.
Responsible for all things IT, I live locally with my wife and son and our mischievous pup. We all love the West Country lifestyle and exploring the coast and moors in our VW camper. I’m a keen mountain biker and surfer and, alongside my role at HH, I’m also an on-call firefighter.
I’ve been working with HH for ten years and enjoy my varied role as Website Development Manager. I enjoy living in Devon with my husband Tristan. We've welcomed our first baby this year. In my spare time I love swimming, singing, painting, genealogical research, photography and exploring beautiful new places. I love spending time with my family.
Mum to Aggie and Freya, I also live with Buster (a dog) and Dave (a husband). Likes: List making, sea swimming, cooking, laughing (a lot), interior design, dog walking, wild moorland, Cornish coves, my garden Dislikes: running out of tea bags Crowning moment: Shaldon Water Carnival Queen 1983
I live in North Cornwall with family around and good friends. My work takes me across the West Country, driving its verdant highways and byways. The natural environment in all its fascinating forms is a passion of mine and nothing is more satisfying than being in it, with knowledgeable people, learning more and working to ensure it will be here to enjoy for future generations.
Having grown up by the water in the beautiful South Hams, being
based back here after a spell of globe-trotting and London living is fantastic
and I enjoy nothing more than exploring the region and visiting new places,
especially if they’re off the beaten track with a lovely beach or good pub (ideally
I joined HH in
2004, a naive, fresh-faced 20-something! I knew I loved living in Devon and
that I loved holidays, so what could possibly go wrong…? And I was right! Since
then, I've married and had two children, but my love of the West Country
remains constant. I'm fortunate enough to see many parts of our beautiful
region every day, and really love what I do.
about Cornwall and all things Cornish; my love of the water is met and
surpassed in this beautiful peninsula. I love to be outdoors, and never tire
of local places to explore and wonder. I'm an avid gardener and keen chef, delighting in entertaining friends and family with home-grown and local
I moved from Kent eight years ago to Porthleven, west Cornwall. Often seen walking around our beautiful village with Bella (Jack Russell), I've been a Porthleven Town Councillor for two years which can be ‘interesting’. Love the sea. Love to travel. Love Thailand. Love Cornwall. Love life!
Love living and working in the South West. HH… great job, lovely colleagues! Grandmother to scrumptious Olivia, Holly, Joseph and Max. Time away from HH spent with family and friends, cooking, walking, going to the theatre and cinema and reading. My philosophy – work hard, have fun, life is short and precious!
My role as Property Inspector is to assist owners in exceeding the ever increasing standards expected by holidaymakers. As Content
Manager, I'm responsible for the organisation and throughput of property images
used in the brochure and on the website. I’m helped very ably in this by Rachel
With a childhood rooted in classic '80s movies (think Indiana Jones) and as the son of a successful travel agent, I’ve always had a passion for travel and adventure. I’m at my happiest with either a surfboard under feet or a camera in hand. Despite the wanderlust, I’ve come to learn there’s really no place like the South West with its abundant beauty and I feel privileged to call it home.
I’ve been a part of the HH family for nearly 10 years
now, after first gaining work experience with the business when I was in
secondary school. This job has given me a real appreciation for the West
Country and all that it offers, both coast and country. I enjoy my spare
time with my wife Samantha and playing football on a regular
I am a Devon girl, born and bred, and have lived here all my life. I love Devon and live with my boyfriend and our cat Loki (who's more like our baby) in Chagford where HH is based. I enjoy socialising and going to the beach.
I've been very fortunate to
have lived in Devon all my life along with my family. I've been at
HH for nine and a half years and work in both the Sales Office
and the Accounts department. My free time is spent with my family,
walking, reading, cooking and exploring different parts of the West Country.
I am very lucky. I live in the beautiful Dartmoor National Park. My commute to work is a 35 minute walk or 25 minute run over the fields and along the River Teign with our dog Beau, watching the grass grow, the hay being cut, or the blackberries ripening. Blissful!
Although I only moved to Devon in 2014 I
already feel at home. I am a member of The Upper Teign Fishing
Association and of The Chagford Film Club. I am also on the committee for
Chagword, a bi-annual Literary Festival held here in Chagford. It really is an
amazing place, with so much to see and do. I feel like I’ve lived here for
I'm a great lover of the outdoors and there's nothing I like more than to explore the wilds of Dartmoor, finishing off with a good old pub lunch washed down with a local ale. Indoors, I'm a keen musician, most likely to be found playing organ and violin or singing with Chagford Singers, or indulging in my other passion, cooking.
"Travel makes one modest. You see what a tiny place you occupy in the world.” There are so many places to see and one of those highlights for me has been the West Country. The unique light and the gentle green. Happiness is great friends, family and lots of adventures!
I’ve worked at HH for just over 15 years now, I’m what is known as a 'bitser', I do a bit of this and a bit of that! In my spare time I love to explore Dartmoor on horseback, taking in the splendid scenery and never-ending views. The rest of my time is kept busy with my family and enjoying foreign holidays.
My life is all about juggling writing, painting, breeding Bichon Frisés and working at HH. My first novel is on Amazon and I'm currently writing my second adventure novel. I have a series of paintings shortly available as cards. And the beauty of our natural world profoundly affects me.
I've been in Devon for 20-something years now and still look forward to discovering new places on my doorstep. Dartmoor may be my back garden, but coast and country are just as convenient for a visit. Walking is a favourite pastime of mine, but it must incorporate a good pub lunch or picnic to really make my day!
I'm a Northerner by birth, but
love living in the West Country. I've worked at HH for 14 years. I deal with all booking confirmations. I enjoy
going on holiday to sunnier climes with my husband and relaxing with lots of
reading matter. Socialising
and cooking for friends are my favourite things.
worked at HH for 15 years. In my spare time
I enjoy spending time with my family. My hobbies include photography
and walking on the moors, along the coast and on sandy beaches, being out in
the fresh air and enjoying the scenery. I also enjoy gardening and
I've worked at HH for the past 17 years as a receptionist (but I call myself the 'jack of all trades'). When I'm not working I enjoy walking our lovely Dartmoor with my husband Graham and rescue dog Nessa. I also like spending time in my garden just relaxing and trying out new recipes on the barbecue.
was Helpful Holidays' first member of staff in 1983, using my own typewriter
under the eaves in the office in Su and Euan’s farmhouse (no computers in those
early days!). In my spare time I enjoy walking on Dartmoor and spending time
with my two grandchildren.
I've been at HH for about 27 years and I'm the chief cake baker, brochure stuffer and mailshot team helper. I've lived in Chagford all my life and I'm married to Kevin - our local postie - and I have two girls, Charlotte and Sophie.
