South Devon

An unspoiled region of moorland, lush farmland and wooded valleys turning to lake-like estuaries with sailing boats and a very beautiful coast of fine sandy beaches and mighty cliffs edged by the South West Coast Path walking trail. Around the peaceful coastline, with its wide variety of lovely beaches, are interesting old small towns, like Dartmouth, Kingsbridge, Totnes and Salcombe, and pretty little villages with welcoming cosy pubs. Inland, the southern edge of Dartmoor is a dramatic National Park of rock-tors, heather and bracken, wonderful for walking and exploring. Plymouth is the West Country's biggest town, with its theatre, cinemas, shops and restaurants.
