  • “The Hayloft is a lovely spacious house with perfect gardens for a dog.”

We loved the sea view, thoroughly enjoyed a coffee in the morning on the balcony. Great location, so many places on the doorstep, would return.

The property

On the edge of Breage, about 500 yards from the pub and 2 miles from Rinsey Cove and Porthleven, a detached 'upside down' cottage beautifully converted from a stone barn with far-reaching panoramic sea views to Porthleven in one direction and Breage church in the other.

It is set within its own enclosed lawned garden with raised decking (table/chairs), a great place for enjoying lovely sunsets, and 200 yards from a footpath to a garden centre (café). Inside, beautifully designed to a high standard with wood floors.

Step up to hallway/passage (space for coats/boots).

Oak stairs up to open-plan dual-aspect living/dining/kitchen (dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, fridge-freezer, electric hob/double oven) with original beams, Velux windows, TV/DVD/Blu-ray and door to decking and steps down to garden.

On the ground-floor, three bedrooms - a double (5' bed) with en suite shower-room (suite), a twin (zip-linkable to 6' double), and a single.

Bathroom (suite, shower over bath).

An idyllic cottage in a secluded location, yet close to the wonderful surfing beach of Praa Sands (2 miles) and Rinsey headland for lovely coastal walks. Breage: village (good food pub, PO/shop, 15th cent.

Church, garden centre/café) surrounded by ancient settlements and mining heritage, 2 miles inland from Rinsey Cove.

Good walking: Tregonning Hill (spectacular views of Mount's Bay and The Lizard), 2 miles, and Loe Pool lake, 4 miles.

Porthleven, 2½ miles; Helston, 3.

About the location

BREAGE

Porthleven 2 miles ; Helston 3 miles ; Penzance 10 miles.

A peaceful, rural village located in between Helston and Penzance, Breage is home to the 12th century St Breaca church – and on Tregonning Hill, the highest point in the village, are the remains of an ancient settlement. During the 19th century, Breage was an important mining centre, producing considerable amounts of tin and copper. Today, the village has a small but welcoming community, a lovely pub, playing fields and a village hall. The much-loved harbour town of Porthleven is just a short drive away, with its various waterside inns and restaurants – and the glorious stretch of golden sand at Praa Sands beach is just 3 miles along the coast.
