Honeycombe Lodge is a delightful reverse-level lodge set in the Tamar Valley Resort.

Featuring a balcony for al fresco dining, pet-friendly accommodation and access to excellent on-site facilities including indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a tennis court and seasonal activities, it is perfectly placed for a family getaway in Callington, South East Cornwall.

The three bedrooms are bright and spacious, with the master bedroom benefiting from access to a decked area, offering a pleasant spot to begin the day.

Upstairs, the open-plan living space provides a sociable setting for the whole family to gather, while doors open onto the balcony where guests can dine outdoors and take in far-reaching views across the Tamar Valley towards Dartmoor.

There's plenty to keep everyone entertained, from the indoor and outdoor heated swimming pools to seasonal activities including archery, rock climbing, canoeing and abseiling (subject to availability and additional charges), while an on-site bar and shop add further convenience throughout your stay.

Set within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Tamar Valley Resort is ideally positioned for exploring both Cornwall and Devon.

Nearby, the National Trust's Cotehele offers a fascinating Tudor house and valley garden estate overlooking the River Tamar, while the sweeping sands of Whitsand Bay provide a wonderful setting for seaside days beneath dramatic cliffs.

What guests are saying

Needs a little TLC and up keep as the outside nothing like photos so makes you think what have I come too, inside was clean and tidy but needs updating very old fashioned, so lets the property down.

Pub on site food was very disappointing, so didn’t attempt using the pool or other facilities on site as this put us off, but they were doing work maintenance on site so maybe improved Overall we had nice holiday and this made it a good base for our days out.

The entrance is located at the rear, which isn’t currently featured in our photographs, so this may have been the area referred to in the review. However, the photographs do provide an accurate representation of the front of the property. We’re glad to hear that you found the lodge clean and tidy. We appreciate that décor is a matter of personal taste, and we are always looking at ways to maintain and improve the property for our guests. We were also sorry to hear that you chose not to make use of the onsite pool and facilities. These are separate from the lodge itself and are available as extra benefits for guests to enjoy. The onsite pub is independently operated, so unfortunately we have no involvement in its food or service. We appreciate your comments and are pleased that you enjoyed your holiday and found the lodge a good base for exploring the area. We hope you’ll have many more enjoyable breaks in the future.

Great property and location.

It is pet friendly which is great. There was also lots of great information and basic kitchen equipment and coffee tea etc My only change would be Supplying a hoover that actually helps clean pet hair as the one supplied does jot down the job. The other point to note is the booster for the hot water and low water pressure. I would also add drying facilities as with kids it’s really hard to keep on top of the drying if you do a wash.

Thank you so much for your lovely comments about the lodge and its location. We take great pride in creating a comfortable and welcoming space for our guests. Thank you for your feedback about the hoover; we appreciate you taking the time to look after the property during your stay. We have an excellent housekeeper who prepares the lodge between every stay, including taking particular care with pet hair. The hoover provided is intended for guests’ occasional day-to-day needs, rather than replacing the thorough cleaning carried out between bookings. This is also why we ask that pets remain off the furniture, out of the bedrooms and are not left unattended in the lodge, helping us to keep the property in excellent condition for every guest. We provide an airer for drying clothes, which can be found in the wardrobe in the master bedroom. Unfortunately, there simply isn’t space for a tumble dryer, but we hope the airer is a useful option for guests. Thank you again for your feedback and for highlighting the many things you enjoyed. We’re so pleased you found it a great property in a great location, and we hope you had a lovely stay.

Note: This property has a private water supply which is tested regularly.
Note: Site Gym and Pool Rules - No under 18's permitted to use the gym. Pool - under 16's must be accompanied by an adult, two children max per adult. Under 8's/Non-swimmers should always be accompanied by a competent adult in the pool. No balls except beach balls. There are no lifeguards on duty.
