We have recently returned from this wonderful gem of a cottage.

It was in the most stunning location with views over the Estuary which we thoroughly enjoyed sitting out in the garden and having our morning cuppa watching the world go by. Watching the locals swim, dive, waterboarding and sailing was also a joy to watch. From the outset we had good communication with the owner both before our stay contacting me regarding our booking saying that we could arrive earlier in the day if we wished and during it to make sure we were OK and had no issues. On arrival we were greeted with not only a cream tea but also tea, coffee, sugar and a pt of milk which we really appreciated. The cottage was alot older than I originally thought so it had a lovely character to it. It had a lovely homely feel to it and was presented beautifully with a garden that was well maintained by the local gardener who we met during our stay. It was spotlessly clean and had every single appliance you could wish for and also the kitchen had every accessory, utensils, crockery, baking and cooking equipment you would possibly need. There was also extra care taken in providing the everyday essentials which we also thought was a nice touch!! There was instructions for everything if you needed it and labelled switches which we found helpful. The front and back gardens were very secure for our small jackchi which was important to us as most gardens he's small enough to get under gates etc and this garden has secure wire on both gates and the wall was easily tall enough for him not to jump over but I can understand if you have a very energetic dog they maybe able to jump over it onto the grass area behind which is a public area. I will point out that the small garden area passed where you park which directly leads onto the waterfront is not secure so we had to have him on a long lead when we sat out there. As mentioned in a previous review there is not a smart TV only a free view one which didn't bother us as we always found something to watch but a smart TV is what we have had in other cottages. There are a view DVDs and a player if desired but we never even bothered looking to see what there was available. We did take a 1000 piece jigsaw to occupy us in the evenings which we have donated to the cottage for others to enjoy. The cottage is in a lovely quiet village with easy assess to the main routes around Cornwall as it is so central which made it easy to visit lots of different locations around cornwall which we really enjoyed. We all found the 3 bedrooms and the living areas very comfortable and cosy for the 3 generations who all loved our stay that much we are hoping to return next year. If you are looking for a quaint home from home cottage in a peaceful village in a central location with easy access to the main roads then I would highly recommend this one..

We have had a delightful 3 day stay in Regatta cottage.

It is a very comfortable and well equipped cottage in a beautiful setting overlooking Restronguet creek. On arrival the cottage was very clean and welcoming (a vase of garden flowers awaited us together with a Cornish cream tea). There were clear instructions concerning the workings of the cottage and its equipment, which were very helpful and made us feel at home. We have no hesitation in recommending Regatta cottage and would happily return.

A lovely cottage with lots to like.

Comfortable and clean, in a wonderful peaceful location within the village. Lots of personal touches made our stay memorable.

We felt instantly at home in this comfortable, clean, and warm cottage.

It is extremely well maintained, from the many kitchen implements, to thoughtful touches like a mobility shower stool, and a 'doggy bits' box. The location is second to none, with views up and down the river. Listening to the curlews call as dusk settled over the water was magical. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Regatta Cottage.

An old cottage with character.

The cottage has everything you need. The owner checked we were ok there. We only had to ask if we needed anything else. Overlooks the river. Small enclosed garden perfect for the dog. Very quiet and peaceful. Plenty of walks to do in the area. Would love to return again.

My husband and I had a wonderful time staying at Regatta Cottage.

Everything that we could have possibly needed was provided for us. It was a real home from home - warm and comfortable. Nice enclosed gardens - front and back, although our more agile dog did manage to jump over the wall once or twice. We were left a cream tea for us to enjoy, on our arrival. It was nice to have the woodburner in the lounge, as well. Our 2 dogs really enjoyed it too. The view from the garden over the estuary was beautiful and we saw some lovel sunsets and sunrises, even in late November. Tan (the owner) contacted us several times to see if there was anything that we needed. The local people are very friendly. The local pub (The Old Quay Inn) has just re-opened - if you also have dogs, I recommend the 1/2 hour walk to the pub as there are various little places enroute where you can let your dogs off the lead, the best being just before you get to the pub, down by the estuary. Falmouth was also worth a visit. We definitely hope to go back and will definitely book Regatta Cottage, if it is available.

Our second stay at Regetta Cottage and just felt like we’d’ come home’ Excellent views with sun in one or other of the gardens all day.

Lovely to sit on the steps of the private foreshore belonging to the cottage Welcomed with fresh roses in kitchen and living area and scones with cream and jam. Even milk and coffee etc so you can have a cuppa before having to unpack or nip to shop. Curtesy call from owner before arrival and a call on the cottage phone just after arrival to check everything was ok…….its those personal touches that make all the difference. Will be staying again as the cottage is perfect and so central to everywhere. Would recommend this cottage 100% for couples, families or multigenerational groups…. Plus the dog can come too! Brilliant and so sorry to have to leave

Fantastic place for a holiday.

So many places to sit and enjoy the sun and the view. Lovely bathrooms and comfortable beds. Good roomy parking. Bit of confusion to find the key box as its not clear which is the front door and the box itself is completely hidden when the creeper is out. Definitely recommend. Courteous owner.

Our second stay at Regatta Cottage - another lovely week.

Such an amazing setting, right on the river. Comfortable, warm and cosy, with a wood burner which we didn’t need. Decorations for Christmas were a lovely touch - thank you. We think we may need to visit in the summer so that we can make use of the garden tables - bit too chilly again in December! Thoroughly recommend this cottage - still the best we’ve found!

Lovely location, the cottage is very well equipped and there was a lovely cream tea to enjoy on arrival.

Unfortunately the downstairs rooms in the cottage smells musty due to dampness. The lounge chairs and sofas are past their best, not comfortable and also do not smell nice. The WiFi is unreliable, providing only an intermittent service. The old windows have secondary double glazing, they have mould and mildew growing on them between the panes, we would have liked to open a window in the lounge and the upstairs bedroom but we think that they would have broken had we tried. The owner was very kind and came promptly when we called him to say that we were cold and he put the heating on for us. The cottage is highly rated on the Sykes website and certainly not cheap, overall we are sorry to say that we were disappointed.

A beautiful cottage with a beautiful view.

I’ve stayed in various cottages/ places in Cornwall but Regatta Cottage trumps them all. It’s so well equipped and every detail has been carefully thought of, it’s so cosy and so homely you felt that it was a home not a rental. I wish that I had booked a second week there, the views are amazing, it’s so peaceful and you can watch the world go by in total relaxation. Watching the paddle boarders and wild swimmers from the front garden was great. A lovely touch was a call from the owner before our stay to introduce himself and another a few days in to check all was going well. Welcoming fresh flowers and a cream tea was a lovely touch. Will definitely be booking 2 weeks next year.

We have had a lovely two weeks at Regatta Cottage.

The Cottage itself is very comfortable and well equiped. The views from Regatta Cottage are amazing, we especially enjoyed sitting on the bench at the side of the Cottage overlooking the Creek with a glass of something in the evening or breakfast in the morning. The cream tea on arrival was greatly appreciated.

The property has an exceptional positioning, allowing guests to enjoy spectacular views and to truly immerse themselves in a beautiful corner of Cornwall.

The cottage is well-equipped and extremely comfortable and certainly plenty of room for 6. The owners have very kindly opened-up a west-facing section of their garden to allow guests to enjoy their own foreshore access and to enjoy spectacular sunsets.

When we arrived in the pouring rain we tried for 10minutes to open the key safe and failed so we rang the phone number of lady who looks after cottage we got her husband as they had changed phones and he was in Essex but would get her to call she told us you really have to wiggle box about to get it to open .

we finally got in and the place was nice with scones and cream .the wood burner was a challenge as it was old with ropes hanging off door and the logs were laid outside in the rain the owner turned up a day later with some nice dry logs which was kind.

Cottage well maintained and cleaner worked very hard.

The owner met us and was very helpful and phoned later to see if everything was in order. The extra touches like fresh flowers and cream tea were much appreciated.

Regatta Cottage provided everything we needed, including beautiful Christmas decor.

The level of equipment is excellent and the furniture and furnishings were very comfortable. The only tiny quibble, from the younger member of our party, was the lack of a smart tv!

Warm and cosy cottage, with unlimited heating and fuel for the wood burner (which we didn’t need as the heating was very efficient.). Met the owner when we arrived - very friendly and chatty. And the cream tea in the fridge was delicious - and fresh roses also a lovely touch. Also, being December, the sitting room was decorated for Christmas, including crackers on the table - our grandson loved the little tree with its pretty lights. The best cottage we’ve ever stayed in - we will be going back.

Very well located for the surrounding attractions and the private water access was a nice addition. Unfortunately the weather for us was not good but nonetheless we really enjoyed our stay.

A very well equipped cottage in a great position.

We loved having enclosed gardens at the front and back of the cottage. Our cockapoo was safe, resulting in us having a relaxed holiday. Beds and bedding were very comfortable. Kitchen had everything you could need for a self catering holiday. We’d definitely love to return.

So peaceful with great views of the river with a private quay. Great for boating & canoeing. Good food at the local pub just a half hour stroll up the road by the river. A good base for exploring South Cornwall further by car.

Superb location with estuary views and a choice of 3 sitting areas, however the decor and furnishings were a little tired but the milk and cream tea provided by the owner were very welcome.

It is comfortable, clean and well equipped. The location is really lovely- peaceful, on the edge of the creek for swimming and boating . A uniquely quiet part of Cornwall with miles footpaths from the house and a great pub a mile away. What more could you want?

Once again it was a pleasure to stay at Regatta Cottage - warm and cosy with everything we could possibly need.

A great location with easy access to the North coast, Truro, Falmouth and National Trust gardens. Flowers and cream tea were a lovely welcome. We enjoyed sitting outside with the wonderful views of Restronguet creek (albeit with coats on) and the cold water swimmer of our party only had a few steps to reach the water at high tide. Superb.

Right by the River with three outside spaces where you can sit and admire the views. We had two dogs with us so really appreciated that two of the spaces were secure for them. Very well equipped cottage, with everything you could need. Comfortable beds and sofas, and nice to have the wood burner in Winter as well as the central heating. The regatta cottage is the perfect base to explore Cornwall It's clean and tidy inside and out also everything has been thought of by the owner who we met It's a peaceful and calming place to stay with fantastic views of the point We couldn't find any fault with regatta cottage it was perfect and a credit to the owners We even had cream tea when we arrived what more can one ask for I would highly recommend regatta cottage to anyone.

Regatta Cottage is in a superb location and is comfortable and well equipped.

It was very clean and well-cared for. A Cornish cream tea was waiting for us on arrival and the owner’s welcoming phone call was appreciated.

Great little touches like milk, teabags, coffee & sugar being provided to at least get you through the first couple of days. There’s a Spar 5 mins drive to stock up if needed. Mainly pubs nearby to eat in, restaurants further afield. Takeaways not delivered to the cottage. My recommendation would be to take wetsuits, paddle boards & kayaks if you enjoy water sports and want to make the most of being positioned so near to the water. It does get quite busy just outside the front garden with families enjoying their water sports. Overall a lovely cottage with lots of space and well equipped. The owners have taken great care in providing lots of information on places to see and things to do which was really helpful.

No facilities in the village, but only 5 miles to Truro. I would definitely recommend this cottage.

This was an exceptional cottage to stay in - even better in reality than on the website.

Cottage was very comfortable and incredibly well equipped - a real home-away-from home. A couple of days before we went the owner phoned us to check if there was any further information we required and he phoned the cottage a couple of days after we arrived to check we had all we needed and required further information on places to visit. We would certainly go back to this lovely cottage - superb location too. Thank you.

The cottage is beautiful and presented superbly throughout. The setting is tranquil and peaceful. Try not to fall over the bed or walk into a wall when you turn the lights out at night. The journey from Kent is the only reason why I will not visit the property on a regular basis, but I will certainly return soon. SUBLIME!

The owner was excellent with communication and flexibility changing dates & agreeing to add family members to the group at short notice.

The listing would benefit from explaining that there is little privacy in the front garden during high tide daylight hours as the quayside is a hive of activity. We decided not to bring our two dogs and we’re very glad as it was a dig busy area so there would’ve been a lot of extra barking. The upstairs bedroom was very comfortable and well appointed however the ground floor bedrooms have a musty, damp smell despite leaving windows open as requested. The mattresses are also rather tired, as also the fabric of the living room sofas and armchair. They seemed to take up a lot of space and one was very uncomfortable so I used the bedroom upstairs to sit in. This didn’t detract too much from our stay as the weather was so good whilst the views and waterside options are the location’s strongest point. It was a heatwave that week but the property would benefit from more than the one small cooling fan. For these reasons I feel that the property is a little over-priced and wouldn’t accommodate six adults comfortably. We were only three adults so it was adequate. The paintings were lovely and the views fabulous.

Excellent base for either chilling by the Waterside or for short trips to Falmouth & beyond. For those who like to stay in touch, good 4G Mobile signal. Looking forward to visiting again in the future.

Superb cottage in excellent location, great to have three different gardens to sit in.

Kitchen was very well equipped for a self catering holiday. Tan the owner was very helpful,calling us before our trip and also a couple of days after our arrival to make sure we were happy with everything.Would definitely return.

A delighful cottage in an idyllic location Comfortably furnished with many extras provided.

Equipment in kitchen was amazing, everything you could possibly want. The three garden areas were well maintained, all with garden furniture. The private beach was a bonus and ideal for drinks and bbqs in the evening. Would definitely recommend this cottage.

Homely, cosy cottage.

Good for dog owners and those with mobility limitations. Not too fancy, but still comfortable. Suited us very well.

Lovely area, great area to explore with out having to drive.

With the weather being good it was great to sit out for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Lots of bird live to see. We must take are kayak next time

Lovely cottage in beautiful location.

After arriving in the dark we awoke to stunning waterside views. The cottage is very cosy and warm and has everything you could possibly need. Kitchen very well equipped and the beds were very comfortable. Secure garden for the dogs and enjoyed some lovely walks without getting in the car. Owners lovely and kept in touch with everything we needed to know. One of the best holiday cottages we have stayed in. Would love to return in the summer to enjoy the gardens sone more.

We loved the location - seen a few reviews about this point and would agree that the description almost doesn't do it justice.

The proximity to Point Quay is fantastic and the views are simply brilliant. Its a really comfortable and functional house for 6 people and is very well equipped overall. Only thing that would have been helpful for us in addition would be a BBQ. would definitely recommend.

Things are often not what they seem in photos and descriptions of a property and its location: this one was in every way better.

The location was superb, easily accessible, and with great outdoor areas, and the tables and chairs to match.

The cottage was well equipped and comfortable and in a beautiful location.

They even had everything you need for your dog if you forget anything and both front and back gardens are secure. Would highly recommend this cottage if you want a quiet life. A quick drive into Truro and you are back to civilisation.

From the description I expected a peaceful location with easy access to a creek side footpath.

Instead, whenever the tide was in, there were large numbers of people just outside the cottage launching boats, jumping into the river and generally making a lot of noise and disturbance. Most of the creek side walk is on narrow roads rather than a footpath. With the level of traffic and visitors parked all along it made for uncomfortable walking. I was also extremely surprised to be told I had to take any recycling away from the cottage! Other houses had bins that were collected and I don’t think it is reasonable to expect people on holiday to be driving around finding recycling points for the small amount of plastic and cardboard they will generate in a week.

The cottage was even better than the website details.

The area is beautiful and very unspoilt. We have booked again for next year - what more can be said?

Amazing location for a secluded break.

Fantastic access to the estuary if you have a kayak or paddleboard. We used the large public space to our full advantage of late evening ball games. Local walks with the dog were very pleasant and easy access to all of Cornwall, therefore great location to start from. The scones, clotted cream and jam on arrival was very well received after a long journey, the extremely comfortable beds and cosy fire means this place is definitely worth a visit.

Exterior (windows) in need of some updating and tidying up but overall a really enjoyable week.

This is an ideal place to stay out of season, although I would imagine it would get quite busy in the summer.

Delightful location, easy walking and friendly locals. We booked this cottage just five days before arrival as a chill out, rest and convalescent break and it filled all of our requirements. It was a pleasant surprise to find a holiday let that sleeps six which actually has comfortable seating and dining space for six. Also plenty of outdoor furniture in all areas, so there was no need to move it around. Lovely spacious bathrooms too. Would we recommend? Definately! Would we consider going back? Yes! We had a minor problem whilst staying at Regatta Cottage which was referred to the caretaker and then sorted by the owner within a matter of hours of making contact. Much appreciated! Thank you.

Clean and comfortable cottage in a stunning location. An ideal base for exploring that part of Cornwall, either by car or on foot as the walking from the property was excellent. Welcome pack appreciated and phone call from owner to check all ok. Only comment re accuracy of the listing was the fact the part of the garden with direct water access was slightly away from the property across the drive, which made no difference for us but may for those with children.

Beautiful cottage set in an amazing place

The Regatta Cottage, perfect by the way, is set on the waters edge in a tranquil village of Cornwall.

Watching tides come and go in complete silence, no traffic noise, only birds. A beautiful retreat that I would highly recommend to everyone. What a treat.

Beautiful property in a stunning location.

Was brilliant for our elderly parents with having twin rooms and shower on the ground floor. The walled gardens front and back were great for our little dog. Was lovely to receive a call from the owners to make sure everything was okay.

The location is amazing,particularly if you want to kayak, paddle board or dingy sail.

The local pub, The Old Quay Inn is within easy walking distance and serves excellent beer & food. What more could you want.

Poor weather meant we were not able to enjoy the outside facilities more, but we could appreciate the potential.

This is the 3rd time we have booked this gorgeous cottage through them and every time has been easy and efficient and any queries answered in a professional and courteous way. Regatta Cottage is a lovely holiday house to spend the week (or more) at. We love waking up to the stunning views of the creek and it is so well positioned to visit most places. We had snow while we were there, which is a first for us, but it really added to the holiday. The cottage was very warm and comfy and we had several log fires. It is a very well equipped house with everything you should need, even down to a box of doggy toys!! Our 2 dogs loved their time here with us as there are so many places to walk and beaches to go on.
