The Studio

This was our second stay at the Studio, and this time we were lucky enough to spend two wonderful weeks there.

Somehow it was every bit as wonderful as our first stay—helped along by the glorious weather! We had the pleasure of meeting the owner's delightful son, who very kindly brought us a fan during our stay. It was so thoughtfully appreciated and made such a difference—what a brilliant fan it was too! Having now experienced it ourselves, we really don't think driving on and off the driveway is difficult. We even watched the bin van manoeuvre on and off with ease, with enough room to spare on either side. It perhaps looks a little more daunting than it actually is. The Studio is most definitely our happy place, and we've already booked our next stay for next year, which says it all. Two weeks flew by, and no matter how long we stay, it never feels long enough. Thank you for another truly wonderful holiday. We always feel so welcome and can't wait to return!

The Studio is a lovely cottage, so much so we’ve visited twice in two years.

A couple of negatives, the en suite shower in the upstairs bedroom is poor and the drainage blocked up during our stay and we had to call a plumber to fix the problem. The lounge is uncomfortable and the sofa needs replacing. We spent all of our time in the kitchen, which is bright and airy. All in all a great experience, I only mention the negatives in a constructive way, so improvements can be implemented.

First word that came out of our mouths was WOW!

What a beautifully presented property, with nice finishing touches like coffee and tea, neatly made crisp white bedding and large thick fluffy towels. The garden is great for dogs too, our two GSDs loved it and the fact it’s only 15-20 minutes to Praa Sands. Yes the driveway entrance is very tight for a larger vehicle, but we managed to get in and out with a large Nissan Nivara Pickup every day without a scratch, and those things are like an oil tanker ship when it comes to manoeuvrability. Take your time and relax, it’s a beautiful cottage in a great location. We look forward to returning. Only additional item Id like to recommend is a separate maintenance suggestion book which can be reviewed after each guest by they cleaners/owners, so guests can leave constructive comments and not spoil Visitor Book or Reviews with such information. But then I’d suggest this for every rental property

What a fantastic cottage!

It was so warm and cosy with the underfloor heating and warm bedrooms, the beds and bedding were high quality and the garden and location couldn't have been more perfect for us and the dogs. A wonderful autumn stay with a storm thrown in as well!

Had another nice stay at The Studio Rinsey, saw the bats at dusk and dawn and a variety of birds in the daytime.

On a nice clear night the amount of stars is amazing as very little light pollution. It needs a new oven as we had to adjust our menu as only the grill works not the oven so we used mostly the ceramic hob on top.

Really somewhere where you can chill right out.

Would certainly go back again. Enjoyed every minute of it. Would have loved to stay longer.

An enjoyable and comfortable stay.

Several points that we feel needs highlighting. The directions regarding getting to the cottage we found confusing. We looked for the grassed triangle but because it had vehicles parked on it we couldn’t see it. The fridge could do with being replaced. We would have done a big shop but thanks to previous reviews we decided against it. It’s a lovely sized kitchen which could easily accommodate and would benefit from a larger freestanding fridge and freezer. The folder with recommendations and attractions etc has mouldy pages that wouldn’t take a lot to replace. The attraction leaflets are out of date. A selection of Board games would be nice as we soon tired of Connect 4. It would be lovely to share with guests about the history of the cottage. I googled it and found out the year it was built and who the artist was etc, really interesting. Bed and mattress comfortable, pillows old and lumpy. The garden isn’t suitable for elderly dogs as we soon found out. No one’s fault except ours. We didn’t take too much notice regarding the raised part being as high as it was which resulted in our dog falling which ended up with a trip to the vet. It also isn’t made clear that it’s a walk around garden, and unless the front gate is closed your dog can get out. We feel this should be stated clearly so that future visitors with elderly dogs or young children can decide if this is a suitable place to stay. The ironing board is a danger and urgently needs replacing as the pin holding the ironing board fell out multiple times causing the ironing board to collapse. Wonderful property in a fantastic location.

We loved everything about the property except getting onto the drive. We have an XC90 and had terrible trouble getting onto the drive so most of the time left the car out the front of the property which didn't seem to be a problem. Overall though, we would highly recommend the accommodation.

2nd time visiting the property over 5 years, there has been no investment it’s looking tired.

Fridge is knackered, loose kitchen tiles/kickboards .. needs a smart TV. Needs re-decorating. Location is perfect. And travel chapter who look after the property bookings need to step up their game..

Our 4th or 5th stay here.

Great place. Lovely comfortable beds. We appreciated the new living room furniture and outdoor chairs. It would benefit from a new fridge freezer…plenty of room for one in the lovely kitchen. We’ve thought this ever since we’ve been coming, but the fridge really is awful now with an huge block of ice at the back, and thus the food sometimes gets ruined, and the freezer is very small.

Fantastic location, just back from the coastal path, with a great beach close by.

Lovely garden around the property so you can relax and it feels very private. Only slight negative was the living room furniture is awful, please change it, we used two camping chairs all week so that we all had comfortable seating, and a smart tv would be good to entertain the kids in the morning.

This is the second time we have stayed at the studio and it is a lovely experience the house is great it’s situated in a great area as we had our dog with us for long walks and short drives to other places

It was the best we,ve stayed in so far Everthing provided and very clean the dogs loved the garden And lots of walks straight from the house.

Liked it so much have booked again for September.

Directions to cottage little hard to follow but it isn’t easy to change that.

One of the best cottages I’ve stayed in. Everything was first class. If you like peace and quiet and being away from it all you’ll go a long way to find a better place.

We have stayed at The Studio before a few years ago.

Fantastic location cottage well equipped beds very comfy. Cottage well laid out with fabulous views and access to coastal path. The only couple of things we would suggest is that the loving room seating could do with replacing and putting some wire/mesh on both gates would be a good idea for people bringing dogs.

We love this cottage and the area.

So…. We keep coming back!

We always holiday in self catering cottages and we were absolutely delighted with the high standards of the Studio.

Loved our stay, lovely place in a beautiful location.

The only issue was that in the kitchen/dinning area we discovered a lot of ants running around.

Great cottage; warm, welcoming and immaculate.

This was our 3rd stay, and again have very much enjoyed it. The beds are great, unlike the sofa and chairs, which are terribly uncomfortable, and along with the clapped-out patio furniture really need to be replaced.

We have stayed I Rinsey lots of times the house we have stayed in was £900.

00 for this week and was empty if it had been less for winter months we would have stayed there you’re home was a better price for this time of year so yours was used and we liked it so if a sensible price in the future we will rent the studio JW Sandford

Lovely property, ideal location for walking and very peaceful.

A great welcome pack on arrival. Would like to be able to arrive earlier than 5pm on the arrival day and depart later than 9am on departure day. You almost feel you lose a day of your holiday.

Beautiful cottage and private garden.

Perfectly situated as we like to use the coastal paths for walking, gorgeous views from the bedroom windows.

Think the cottage need a deep clean and needs just A bit of TLC.

Lots of cobwebs around and the kitchen sky lights a bit dirty. Dirty clothes under the Chester draws upstairs. (Found by accident) Would be nice if the hedges were slightly lower to make a better view of the sea. Otherwise we did enjoy our stay .

Amazing quiet location, we walked to Praa Sands from our cottage, which was only 20 minutes to walk with the kids and dog.

The cottage was clean and had everything we needed for a relaxing break away. We had a lovely meal at Victoria Inn https://victoriainn-penzance.co.uk on the way back from looking at St Michaels Mount, would highly recommend this, but still lots of other choices locally Heston which we enjoyed. We also visited the Seal Sanctuary, Eden Project, Lands End, Zip Wire and lots of other places.

The house was a little difficult to find (triangle?

??)and not easy to manoeuvre our Range Rover in and out! Perfect set up for dogs but means house not particularly’cozy’. We were disappointed with the level of cleanliness - sink plug in en suite was clogged with hair and we had to unclog with a skewer - very unpleasant. Also there was an ear-bud left on the bedside table again yuck! Oven not very clean. Cobwebs in kitchen, light fittings grubby. Overall we enjoyed our stay … think there should be a note in description regarding the SW coast path and how it is not for the faint hearted!!! The description makes it sound as if there’s a little stroll to Rinsey Cove when it is quite a steep hike. Perhaps update the local information - we found one restaurant mentioned is now permanently closed.

Beautiful property!

Absolutely everything you’d need for a hassle free stay! If you’re looking for somewhere calm and quiet and away from the hustle and bustle this one’s just the spot. Fantastic bedroom views, a drop out onto the coastal path and a remote real gem of a remote location.

Great for walking and leaving the car at home. Bright, fresh and clean property with plenty of garden space for the dog to explore. Would hope to return again to this cottage and this beautiful area of Cornwall. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your property.

The property was get for us.

Mother in law can't do stairs so the downstairs bedroom and walk in shower was perfect. There was a pint of milk, clotted cream, biscuits and tea / coffee waiting for us. The only thing we could do with is a lower gate. Our little dogs could get under the larger of the 2 gates. Otherwise it was perfect

A couple of very minor things; 1) Some better outside lighting would be good 2) A slightly bigger Telly?

But generally its a great house, very comfortable and great location. Access into the drive is tight but fine if you are careful, we got our Ford S-Max in and out with no problems.

Met the owner, nice chap who popped in to read the meter at a time which would be normally between guests.

The cottage was comfy and nicely discrete, near good paths so it is easy to walk to Praa Sands and if you're a bit fitter to Porthleven. Great little beach nearby for playing with the dog at Rinsey Head. Garden is nice and long and enclosed so the dog can be allowed to meander around. We used the log burner quite a bit, fuel from Porthleven supermarket. Nice touch to have a little freezer available which we used. The only recommendation which may be a good thing for *all* cottages - I wanted to get a delivery from Sainsbury's/Tesco's etc. but when I put the postcode in all nearby addresses were listed - apart from this one so I was wary of putting in a text-based address (as opposed to 'search by postcode') in case it was lost, so information on that would be good in the welcome pack emailed to customers.

Lovely property, well equipped, good quality towels and bedding, excellent location.

Local pubs and garden centre very good. One down side - not warm enough when sitting in the living room and couldn't adjust the temperature above a pre-set level.

It has everything you need & you don’t need to use your car you can just walk everyday from the cottage. Big thank you to the owner for letting us share this beautiful place & thank you for the warm welcome with all the lovely extras.

Very tight gateway which was difficult to negotiate with our wide saloon car.

We were aware before booking (due to reading the reviews) but being experienced drivers in tight spaces we took a chance. A wonderful place to stay! We have already booked again for next year.

The house was well equiped and perfect as a base to explore cornwall.

Clean, warm, comfy beds, spacious. Kitchen very well equipped, with welcome treats on arrival. Great garden , lovely & sheltered from wind. Perfect walking country, dogs had a great time. Large parking area, although driving through gate was a challenge, but not impossible! Brilliant week in your cottage , thanks.

We always enjoy staying at The Studio.

Tastefully converted, minimalist white walls with pleasing art and studio pottery, always cleaned to a good standard. Easy access to the coast path, although the public footpath to the side of the cottage does compromise privacy on the rear patio. This time we felt the bed in the main bedroom seemed too firm, possibly compressed through the sheer volume of guests using it so this may need looking at. Also 9am departure is just far too early (it doesn't take 8 hours to clean a property to C19 compliant standard!) . But overall, a good place to stay!

The cottage was really lovely and such a perfect location, right on the coastal path.

The underfloor heating was truly great. It was probably even better than the photos indicated, so it was a joy to arrive to and we really enjoyed our stay. However it was frustrating that there were no logs or means of lighting the wood burner especially as the description said a bag of logs would be provided. Simple things, but they make so much difference ! Not relevant to a winter rental but the outdoor furniture looked somewhat tired.

Another nice and quite week at the studio with great views, lovely and warm, great to see the bats and garden birds, looking forward to our next visit.

Lovely property as others mentioned tight to get in the gate but we managed with a 4x4.

So easy to solve by widening the opening. Lovely private big garden for the dog. A coffee machine & BBQ Woild be a nice addition as would an upgrade of garden furniture. People mentioned small tv. I tend to agree but wouldn’t put me off. Probably the nicest property we have had so far and we’re on our 10th or so. Would go back but not at the inflated prices for 2022

The studio was a fabulous place to spend a week.

It was well equipped and we particularly appreciated all of the extra touches, even the little things like spare loo rolls! We loved playing in the garden and walking didn’t to either Rinsey Cove or Praa Sands. The private parking is great; like others gage said you just need to be careful getting in and out - but we managed it daily in our estate car so it is doable. Thank you for a lovely week.

Great location.

Perfect if you want to enjoy the coastal scenery and escape the crowds.

The cottage itself is OK but nothing exceptional.

Given that there is an eight hour "cleaning" period between renters on a Saturday I was surprised that it was dusty in places with cobwebs in some corners. The upstairs en-suite shower is small and larger people might struggle fitting through the narrow gap between the glass sliding doors. On the other hand, the downstairs shower is excellent. A box of biscuits and a bottle of wine had been left for us, a nice touch, thank you. The TV is a little small by modern standards and it made watching the Euro's Final even more edge of the seat. The main problem is access to the cottage. You expect narrow roads in Cornwall, so the mile or more of tight single track road to the cottage wasn't a surprise. Facing the 90 degree turn into the cottage driveway, between solid stone walls, in our average sized family car was a challenge. Unless you drive a FIAT 500, you will have to manoeuver (very carefully) between the stone gate way to one side and the stone wall to the other. And if you decide to park on a rough piece of grass just up from the gateway, the neighbour's get the hump and plant large lumps of rock on it, while your out the next day. Some people love this cottage, but we'll look elsewhere next we are in Cornwall.

As previously reviewed, on a beach -type holiday a line outside to dry towels would be useful as would some oven gloves to retrieve food safely from oven.

Also it could be pointed out that the entrance turn is very tight between walls- we had to leave our rather long car on the grassy lane even though there is lots of room outside cottage. Other than that it is a lovely cottage in a beautiful place.

The dog poo bin was not at the property, unless it was the large black plastic dustbin.

If it is the poo bin then can a label be attached to state that is what it is for please. An outside wirly gig washing line and pegs would be a good addition.

The Studio is a very relaxing property.

Great kitchen, in which we spent most of our time. The under floor heating meant it was always warm and comfortable. The access to the coastal walks made for a great all round holiday with our dog. Good WiFi, and the welcome goodies were appreciated. The gates are not dog safe and are the only thing that could be improved. A genuinely lovely property that we would use again.

Helpful Holidays lived up to their name when a family illness threatened our holiday - they were friendly and efficient in helping us explore our options with the accommodation owner.

The property is lovely, in a stunning location and with everything you need for a great holiday. The under floor heating is great to return to and we were never short of hot water. The property wasn't super clean on arrival but it wasn't really dirty either. There was only a small bag of kindling and two logs for the wood burner whereas, I think, a full basket was mentioned. Recycling instructions could be clearer and the bins labelled.

Really enjoyed staying here having known it as a child when it was the potter and artist’s studio.

It has been beautifully renovated and extended and the location on the clifftop is wonderful. Our only real complaint was the 3 mugs and three wine glasses, particularly as this feedback had already been given by a guest the previous month....we ended up buying extra!

We were very pleased with our accommodation.

Here are some improvements... There were only 3 mugs and 3 wine glasses. For a house sleeping 4, I think there should be at least 6 mugs. Ony one sunbed... Two would be nice. Thanks

Great place and location is amazing.

Just as a footnote, loads of car space but can be a tight squeeze for larger cars or difficult for inexperienced drivers.

The cottage was a real treat.

Beautifully equipped and very peaceful...….except when the wind blew !!! Still what do you expect in February. The dog really loved the underfloor heating after a soggy walk. Will revisit later this year

The cottage was immaculate and very warm.

The equipment in kitchen was all spotless (no tatty used pans etc). It is in a fabulous position right on the coast path and local pubs are fairly nearby. Views from the upstairs bedroom are lovely, looking out to sea. Bathrooms are spotless and water is hot and showers very efficient. Very efficient little log burner in the lounge. Nice sheltered garden which must be super in the warm weather. Plenty of car parking. Highly recommend this cottage. T&J Seeger + Beezley the mutt

It was a wonderful cottage and very clean and the owner was very helpful and made us feel very welcome would definitely recommend this place to all my family and friends i would definitely give it five stars

The Studio is the perfect place to relax unwind and soak up all the beauty that Cornwall has in abundance.

Positioned a minute from the coast path, you can walk west or east . The cottage has far reaching views out to the Atlantic. It's a haven for nature lovers with cliffs decked in wildflowers and fluttering butterflies. We saw Choughs ,Seals and Dolphins. Rinsey cove has a beautiful tidal beach which an agile dog can go on without restriction and is a minute walk from the cottage. You can leave the car on the drive for the week if you desire. The cottage has everything you need and is perfect in every way. This was our second stay. Don't change a thing and thank you.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful part of Cornwall.

This is a superb holiday house, with a wonderful coastal location and delightful interior.

Having holidayed together for nearly 20 years without husbands my friend and I have stayed in many holiday cottages and The Studio was possibly the cleanest we have stayed in.

The cottage had a good feel to it and the size of the well-equipped kitchen/diner was a pleasant surprise. The showers were easy to use, which was a relief as sometimes you almost need an instruction manual, and the beds were comfortable. It was perfect in every way except one and the only reason I haven't given it full marks for comfort is that the sofa in the kitchen has possibly seen better days and the seat cushions need firmer replacements. The kitchen was full of light during the day and as this was to be a holiday of relaxation I liked to read while my friend did a jigsaw but it was more comfortable to sit at the table. I appreciate, though, that most people probably wouldn't spend as long in the kitchen as we did, but it was such a spacious light room. The Studio's proximity to the coastal path and to many places of interest made it the perfect base for exploring west Cornwall but with the weather as good as it was last week we were in no hurry to go out every day and enjoyed having our morning coffee sitting in the sun in the garden looking out over the sea. My friend's son stayed in a Sykes cottage in north Cornwall earlier this year and was also very impressed with the standard of accommodation. Based on his recommendation we booked a Sykes holiday in north Somerset for next year and now that we have stayed at The Studio we are looking at other Sykes Cottages for future holidays.

Can't control the weather but a really nice house and friendly folk

The Studio could do with a really good winter clean, the place is also starting to get a bit tatty around the edges, damp and peeling paint near the windows.

Very Clean spacious comfortable cottage , right on the coastal footpath , superb views and great coastal walks particularly to praa sands approx.

1.5 miles away . The cottage has all the facilities you would want . Really enjoyed the stay . The only issue with the cottage is if like me you have a large car it is testing getting in and out of the driveway , having said that it is doable but you need to take care as there are stone walls on both sides of the access.

We had been to the cottage before, and loved it, but this time we introduced a member of my family to staying there.

She said it far outweighed what she was expecting, even from our description.

Just wonderful.

Everything about the cottage was just great in terms of rooms, style, design, comfort, cleanliness and location. The welcome cake, flowers and Cava was a lovely way to start our holiday. We will definitely be back. Many thanks Annette and John

Fabulous location a short pàth from the garden takes you straight onto the coastal path.

Cottage has everything you could possibly want so well stocked. Rinsey is a small quiet hamlet in a great location

It would have been environmentally friendly to have a green bin, so that paper and plastics could be re-cycled without us having either to take to a local re-cycling centre or take back home with us.

The access to the properties driveway was challenging if, as we have, an estate car! Superb location with great sea views and a lovely garden in which to relax in.

The location of The Studio is perfect for walks from the door step.

We (+one dog) had a very comfortable stay. Clive was very helpful.

I would have thought a warning or photo of entrance as any vehicle over car size would struggle for access.

The property was as i hoped it would be and the location perfect yet another good property from Helpful Holidays
