“We had a lovely stay, great location with the harbour a short walk away.”

Kitchen was well equipped, comfy beds and we had access to washing machine - which is handy with kids! Would definitely book again, thanks for having us!

The property

Tucked away in Charlestown, approached over 100 yards of private hardcore lane, an attractive single-storey detached cottage converted from an old barn.

At the back, a meadow adjacent to a playing field (setting for the village regatta).

In front, gravelled access to the cottage and to the friendly owners' house; to one side, a neat paved area (table/chairs).

From garden, double doors into open-plan living/dining/kitchen (dishwasher, microwave, fridge, gas hob/electric oven) with TV.

Two bedrooms, both with big floor-to-ceiling windows between original granite pillars - a double (5' bed) with en suite shower-room (suite), and a twin (truckle).

Bathroom (suite, shower over bath).

External utility room (washing machine).

A comfy base within walking distance of three pubs, restaurants and the beach and within easy reach of good golf and beautiful gardens to visit. Charlestown: tiny, picturesque, 18th century harbour (coarse sand beach, three pubs/restaurants, museum, church, tea rooms, cottages) on the Coast Path, from which ships once took copper and china clay around the world, now loved by film-makers (Poldark, Dr Who).

St Austell (town, leisure centre, mainline railway), ½ mile.

Eden Project, 4 miles; Lost Gardens of Heligan, 6½.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £100.
