The property

A prime waterfront location, this traditional granite cottage has unrivalled views over Newlyn’s magnificent harbour and the stunning coastline at Mount’s Bay.

Newlyn sits in south-west Cornwall, between the picturesque fishing village of Mousehole and the historic port of Penzance.

This charismatic seaside town is an active fishing port providing safe anchorage to one of the largest fishing fleets in the UK.

Westcliff offers an exceptional setting with immense letting appeal.

Set in an elevated harbour side position, guests can admire uninterrupted views to the iconic castle topped island of St Michael’s Mount and as far as the Lizard Peninsula on clear days.

Ideal for friends and families, Westcliff’s stone granite exterior belies a modern and spacious interior.

Large picture windows frame far reaching coastal views and flood the large first floor sitting room with light.

Time can be spent watching the changing skies and tides and the comings and goings of the fishing boats as they land their catch.

The spacious ground floor double bedroom also has a superb water vista.

There is a second double bedroom, a bunk bedroom which children will love and a family size bathroom, plus separate WC on the first floor.

A modern, spacious and well equipped kitchen dining room is located on the ground floor and provides access to an enclosed and sheltered courtyard with furniture for alfresco meals and idle time.

Allocated parking is available for one car a few minutes’ walk from the cottage.

This smart coastal bolthole is ideally located, within paces of old inns, restaurants and probably the best fish market in the UK.

It is worth rising at dawn to buy the freshest seafood for a delicious supper from the bustling fish market.

You will also find curio shops and art galleries including the famous Newlyn Art Gallery.

Scenic walks can commence from the front door with dog in tow.

Follow the coast path and discover sandy beaches at Marazion, Lamorna Cove and Porthcurno.

Continue farther to the renowned Minack Theatre and, for a more energetic walk, onto Land’s End.

Westcliff is ideal for breaks at any time of year.

About the location

NEWLYN

Penzance 1.2 miles; Marazion 6.6 miles; St Ives 8.9 miles.

Nestled next to Penzance, and although still a quaint town in its own right, Newlyn is actually the third largest fishing port in England, and an important Port of Refuge for all seafaring craft. This Cornish town is clustered around the harbour, with its historic 800 year old quay (the Mayflower actually left for America from this quay, not Plymouth) curling around a few small boats on the western side. Famous for the Newlyn school of Art and Newlyn Copper, the Cornwall Coastal Path passes through the town, as does the level Mousehole to Marazion cycle path. An abundance of wildlife and flora can be enjoyed along both, with basking sharks, dolphins and grey seals often seen. The Cornish coast is renowned for surfing, and Penwith offers some splendid beaches on which to enjoy this sport as well as surf fishing for sea bass. Mounts Bay also offers a wealth of opportunity for watersports enthusiasts as well as giving visitors an opportunity to relax and unwind in beautiful surroundings.
