“The Mount was a great place to stay.”

The position is wonderful hidden away but right in heart of the town with fantastic views from the first floor conservatory extension. The house was newly decorated and felt bright and welcoming. The position is wonderful hidden away but right in heart of the town with fantastic views from the first floor conservatory extension. The house was newly decorated and felt bright and welcoming. We only used one bedroom but found it comfortable with good quality bedding and towels. Shower was great with plenty hot water. The garden would have been a lovely bonus if only our weather had been better. The only minor issue which some people might struggle with is the unloading/loading at the beginning and end of the holiday, whichever option you take involves parking on either a narrow or busy lane and taking luggage either up or down a slope whilst the driver needs to remain with the vehicle. Parking in the main car park was reasonable £29 for the week and is a pleasant 5 minute walk.

The property

A handsome detached house with commanding views over Padstow to the Camel estuary.

Wonderfully secluded with a big garden, it doesn't seem possible it could be in the heart of this special and famous town.

Thirty yards of passageway lead to the centre of shops, pubs, restaurants, cafés; harbour, 150 yards.

Lawned garden to the front (patio, little shaded raised deck, table/chairs, BBQ).

Patio doors from garden to lovely spacious open-plan sunlight-filled ground-floor, comprising conservatory/dining room/kitchen (slimline dishwasher, microwave, gas hob/electric oven) and living room with TV/DVD and 'living flame' gas fire, all looking south to the garden.

Big utility room (washing machine, tumble drier, fridge-freezer, sink) with space for boots, bicycles and surfboards, and two external doors.

Downstairs loo.

Stairs up to three bedrooms, all with great views - a double leading through to a sunroom with comfy seating, table/chairs and views; a room with double bed plus single; and a room with 2'6" single plus child's cabin bed (5'6" x 2').

Bathroom (suite with separate shower).

Loading/unloading on quiet road via 40 yard sloping path.

Free road parking possible, but not guaranteed; car park, 300 yards.

Just right for those who want the lively buzz of this little town, plus privacy, relaxation and space too. Padstow: very attractive old small harbour town (excellent restaurants, Rick Stein's base) on the River Camel's sandy estuary.

Many fine beaches very close and headlands for walking; sea birds.

Pedestrian ferry to Rock (watersports, sailing school) and very good golf course (St Enodoc).

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £100.
