“The steps from parking to the house are listed as shallow steps… these are far from shallow and are actually very deep (one full railway sleeper deep).”

Each step is sloping making them harder to climb and covered in loose road stone making them slippy. They were also full of nettles and weeds which didn’t help! We were aware of the internal steps but it was these external steps which made the house a poor choice due to mobility issues in our party. After these steps were further stone steps which though quite deep did have a rail. The steep steps lacked a handrail and had nettles and other weeds too alongside the chunky sliding gravel ...

After these steps were further stone steps which though quite deep did have a rail. The steep steps lacked a handrail and had nettles and other weeds too alongside the chunky sliding gravel making them harder work! We had an issue with a lock which was quickly resolved. Great owner communication too! There weren’t enough working outside seats for everyone (we were five); some were damaged. The indoors seating was in urgent need of upholstery cleaning- which has been mentioned in previous reviews but not actioned. The hot tub was great. The kitchen was well equipped, though a jug and tray would be good additions.

Thank you for taking the time to leave such detailed feedback following your stay. We're sorry to hear that some aspects of the property did not meet your expectations and appreciate you bringing them to our attention. We will be reviewing and updating the property description to better reflect the nature of the external steps, including their depth and gravel. We understand how important this is, particularly for guests with mobility concerns, and we want to ensure our listing provides an accurate representation. We’re also addressing the issue with the wet/dry hoover this week and are looking into the upholstery cleaning as a priority — thank you for highlighting this again. We’ve recently added a tray, jug, and ice bucket to the kitchen inventory based on your suggestions. In terms of the outdoor seating and garden maintenance, we’re sorry these weren’t up to standard. We’ll be replacing any damaged seating and the garden paths and steps have been cleared of weeds and gravel for improved safety and appearance. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the hot tub, the kitchen amenities, and appreciated our communication during your stay. Your feedback helps us continue to improve, and we hope we might have the opportunity to welcome you again in the future. Warm regards Property Owner
