“We had an amazing holiday with the house as base camp.”

Penny and the family were amazing from property care to recommending the best Sunday roast ever! As said by my two children. And I will say it was the best. The walks around are good but beware you do need good sturdy shoes or possibly wellies for the winter. We had the best time making memories here and highly recommended booking this lovely family run spot. Thank you penny and family for having us

The property

On a 160 acre working farm (cattle, sheep) which you’re welcome to wander, ½ mile from St Endellion, 1½ by footpath from Port Isaac and 1 from a pub, a lovely old granite farmhouse (13th cent.

origins) with thick stone walls, leaded-light mullioned windows and slate sills.

We let half the farmhouse (shared with the friendly owners) and a neat, first-floor apartment in the west wing.

'Doc Martin' scenes were filmed here.

At the front, a shared lawned garden (picnic bench, barbecue) with trampoline and swing (your risk).

Access over 500 yards of rough hardcore lane.

Spring water.

Good value accommodation in a very popular area the farmhouse has a private side garden, from which 3 steps down to kitchen/dining room (dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, fridge-freezer, electric cooker) with oil-fired Rayburn for extra cosiness.

Step up to living room looking to garden and fields beyond, with TV/DVD, table/chairs and woodburner.

Loo.

Stairs from kitchen up to three bedrooms - a big roomy double, an equally big double plus single, and a room with 4' bed; shower-room; separate loo.

Lovely long rural views from upstairs. St Endellion: hamlet with superb church (famous music festivals in August and at Easter), 1½ miles from the sea at Port Isaac.

Port Quin, hamlet at the head of a ‘fjord’ (beautiful walks), 3 miles; Polzeath and Rock, 5.
