It’s fairly basic accommodation but in a nice spot and comfortable beds. Good selection of crockery etc in the kitchen. The local pub was very nice - friendly for families and good food. The ferry to Falmouth was fun, but £20 return for family of 4 made it pricey. A few suggestions: We didn’t read through the guest book until the last night and realised there were lots of recommendations in there for places to visit - it would be great if they could be included in the welcome pack instead. There was a DVD player and lots of dvds which we were looking forward to using but no lead to connect it to the tv. The smart tv upstairs didn’t seem to work properly - perhaps the internet didn’t reach. Please provide soap to wash hands - only a tiny amount of handwash provided which ran out after a few days.

The property

A simple, cosy three-storey cottage on a quiet road, just 150 yards from the pub, shops and quay in Flushing.

A courtyard (table/chairs) at the rear of the cottage is a tranquil enclosed space for alfresco dining.

The cottage is simply presented without frills and has been enjoyed by its owners for many years as a relaxing seaside retreat.

Entrance porch for boots/coats.

Open-plan living/dining/kitchen (slimline dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, small freezer, larder fridge, electric cooker) with flame-effect electric fire, smart TV/DVD and door to courtyard.

Stairs up to first floor and two bedrooms - a double, and a small single (limited clothes-hanging space); bathroom (suite, shower over bath).

More stairs up to top floor (top stairgate) and a spacious twin (no door) with sloping ceiling, light streaming in from dual-aspect windows, two wicker chairs and Smart TV with Netflix and Prime Video.

A handy base for sailing, coastal walking and enjoying many local events and regattas. Flushing: exceptionally pretty, unspoilt and peaceful village (sandy beach, colour-washed cottages, church, shop, two pubs, quay restaurant) beside the Penryn River estuary, looking across boat-busy water to Falmouth.

17th century.Dutch people founded it.Slipway.Pedestrian ferry to Falmouth (by car, about 3½ miles).
