    “Lovely spacious cottage.”

    A minor problem was the light outside wasnt working and nor the fairy lights thst run thr length of the 'village'. Also heating could only be put on by boosting every 2 hours rather than on timer, so very cold at times when coming back from day out, other than this it is a super place to stay.

The property

Pear Tree Cottage is a picturesque Village in a Village settled into the delightful seaside town of Appledore, Devon, and with two bedrooms, pretty furnishings, and nearby attractions, it is a delightful base for two couples, friends, and families alike, as well as their four-legged companions.

Be welcomed into a light and airy sitting room, settling down into the stylish furniture and planning the day ahead of you with a cup of coffee, taking in the characterful wooden beams as you relax.

When mealtimes call, an amply fitted kitchen offers a spacious room for guests to cook together, as well as enjoy a heart-warming meal around the dining table over a bottle of fizz, or outside there is a communal garden where guests can recline at the end of the day and make the most of the last of the sunshine.

As the evening draws in, retire upstairs and take a relaxing soak in the bath, or a warm shower, before settling down into one of the two well presented rooms on offer, with the option of a double with a TV and a super-king-size with a TV, that can be set up as a twin on request.

Where the Taw and Torridge rivers meet, sits the delightful quayside village of Appledore, next to the River Torridge. Appledore boasts a small but great range of shops, pubs, guesthouses and art galleries. A thriving fishing and trading village since the 14th century, Appledore has been a famous boat-building centre for many years and the shipyard is still active today. Picturesque Appledore provides a peaceful base from which to explore North Devon, and is close to surf beaches.The Quay is very central to life in the village and it is here you will find many activities including fishing trips, crabbing contests on the quay, and sometimes Morris Dancers. This quaint fishing village has a maze of narrow streets leading to the quay.
Just four miles from Appledore,straddling the Torridge estuary, is the quaint bustling town of Bideford boasts a medieval bridge, town quay, quaint pannier market and vibrant shopping area - all well worth a visit. For the more active, several major surfing beaches, golf courses, theme parks and other attractions are nearby and the South West coast path passes close by on its way into Cornwall.
