Glenview is a fantastic cottage!

It has everything you need and more! Great layout, very clean, cosy, parking, lovely garden, good location, fabulous riverside walk into Lynton. Perfect home from home!

A beautifully presented and comfortable cottage - ample space for a family of 5 including 3 adults and 2 teenagers.

The beds were the comfiest we have slept in. The cottage was well equipped - everything thought of and provided for a home away from home feel.

Lovely spacious property, comfortable, cosy and great hot shower, had everything we needed.

Great location for walks from the doorstep and so much to visit and do in the area. Very relaxing stay, would recommend and hope to stay again. Nice touch with welcome goodies.

Enjoyed a 9 night stay at the property, which was spacious and comfortable.

The location was perfect for visiting Lynton and Lynmouth and surrounding areas. Beautiful walks enjoyed by all. The private parking space provided, took the stress out of finding somewhere to park on the narrow roads. Welcome pack of wine, honey and groceries was a lovely touch. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend the property.

Cottage in a great location with Lynton and Lynmouth just a short distance away. We did some of our favourite walks, visited Valley of the rocks, watersmeet, Barnstaple and went on the cliff railway. Had some great meals out at the fox and goose, blue boar inn and the station. The cottage has everything you need to make your stay home from home. It is well equipped, comfortable and would recommend to anyone. Thankyou again for a wonderful week.

This property is fabulous, it is very clean, spacious but also cosy.

There is everything you need. We will be returning. One small improvement would be a small latch gate fitted at the top of the steps on the front garden. Considering this is advertised as dog friendly. An enclosed garden would be another tick in the box.

This was the 3rd stay at Glenview and once again a delightful holiday.

We will be booking again that’s for sure.

Glenview is a spacious well equipped property which could comfortably accommodate up to five adults in three bedrooms.

The kitchen diner is of particular note with all the necessary equipment to self cater. Tea,coffee and powder for the dishwasher are supplied as well as a very kind welcome pack of milk and a bottle of wine. The level of cleanliness is exceptional as well. The property is situated on a fairly busy road which appears to be used as a shortcut to cancel out a couple of miles of the A39. Caution is required when walking from the property as there are no pavements. There is one parking space with steps to the property or a ramp at the other end of the property for further pedestrian access. The garden is mostly at the front but is not secure if you have a dog or a child. The noise from the river has been mentioned but it didn't really bother us. I can highly recommend Glenview as a lovely base for exploring all that this beautiful part of the country has to offer

This is an exceptional property, equipped to the highest standard.

The large kitchen/dining area is worth a special mention - made "eating in" a memorable experience. Our only minor criticism was the fact we were slightly misinformed regarding the possibility of walking into Lynton/Lynmouth. Perhaps some clear/detailed maps/instructions showing how this might be achieved would be useful. Also, a floor plan would have assisted us in accommodating our special needs daughter. However, this cottage is to be thoroughly recommended.

Fantastic house, with everything you need and more.

No closed in area for dogs off the lead, but plenty of areas to walk. Thoroughly recommend staying at this beautiful location. The owners were very helpful, leaving literature for suggestions of things to do in the area. The wine left was very much appreciated.

Had a wonderful stay at Glenview, a great base for day trips to Lynton and Lynmouth.

Pity the weather wasn't great to make use of the lovely garden. The wine, milk and honey was very much appreciated, thank you. My only suggestion would be to add a gate to the stairs if dogs are not wanted upstairs, my Shih Tzu is my shadow. Had to put suitcases across so he couldn’t follow me. First time to Devon and can’t wait to go back!

Glenview is a fantastic cottage - definitely one of the very best we have stayed in.

It’s clearly very well looked after by its owners - really clean, extremely comfortable and plenty of space. The owners were lovely to talk to and it’s nice to know that they’re not too far away (not that we had any issues whatsoever). We wish that all holiday cottages in the UK were looked after to this standard - thank you for a lovely week away.

Glenview is a very clean, comfortable, well stocked holiday cottage in a great location for visiting Lynton, Lynmouth and the rest of Exmoor.

We found Glenview to be spotlessly clean, with good facilities & nice touches such as local honey left for our use & tea & coffee provided.

The only comment I would make (& this is a very minor criticism) is that the bath mat looked well used & rather tired, considering how clean & up to date everything else was. Other than that, everything was perfect!

A wonderful holiday , Very relaxing, hope to do it again next year there is so much more to do .

A very well appointed and well maintained property.

There was problem with the boiler but the owner attended to this immediately and it in no way detracted from our stay. I would not hesitate in recommending this cottage to others.

This is our 7th visit to Glenview and we still love it and the surrounding area.

The owners leave the house so clean and cosy and always leave milk, wine, tea and coffee and homemade honey out. We left some clothes behind and the owner kindly posted them to us promptly. Thank you so very much

A delightful, warm and well-appointed cottage.

Particular thanks to Mr Peacock for his assistance with the key safe on arrival ... and for the very generous wine and delicious honey: what a treat on both counts! [Our only minor concern was the lack of radio signal and pixellation of TV picture (though the latter settled) which, in fact, we should have anticipated because of the location deep in the lovely river valley]

Glenview was everything we wanted from a holiday cottage, it provided a great 'home from home' base from which to explore North Devon.

The welcome pack was much appreciated and the honey was delicious.

The property had everything we could possibly need, although new baking sheets would be useful, and different tog duvets dependent on season would have been helpful.

Attention to detail was evident in the supply of cleaning materials and instruction booklets. As well as everything we needed to cook. I liked the hand mixer as I’m a baker and was able to indulge in baking a few times. The beds and pillows were all very comfortable and linen lovely and fresh being replaced on a weekly basis. A really nice touch we thought. Another thing we liked was the comfy sofas in the lounge and table and chairs in the kitchen. The location of the house is very convenient to see all the area and the cheap petrol at the garage was a bonus. We ordered our groceries from Tesco to be delivered, and I would suggest others do the same if it is their intention to cook rather than go out. All in all, well recommended and a place we would love to stay at again.

Glenview is a lovely cottage in beautiful surroundings, ideal for exploring many beaches in north Devon plus walks straight from the door.

The cottage had everything we needed plus we very much appreciated the added touches of milk, local honey and a bottle of wine when we arrived, making it a relaxing stay from the start. We would highly recommend and would love to stay again.

Glenview was a beautiful property set in a rural area just outside the bustling towns of Lynton and Lynmouth.

The sound of the Brook outside the window gave us the best nights sleep we've had and despite this property being near a road we were not disturbed once even with windows open. Property was well equipped with every amenity you would need for a holiday, felt like having a home away from home. Great location for access to some of North Devons highlights.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay which was enhanced by the beautiful weather we were fortunate enough to experience.

Glenview is a stunning property and your every need is catered for. It was a fantastic home from home, a wonderful base for walking, straight from the house on some days. The hosts couldn’t be more helpful and we were so thrilled with the wine, milk and home made honey. Literally everything you’d need was there; from dishwasher tablets, fairy liquid, hand soap and washing powder to tea, coffee, sugar and everything in between. The beds were super comfy and the towels fluffy. It’s no wonder guests return year after year. We absolutely loved it and am sure we will return. The booking process with Sykes was so easy and the property exactly as described; If not better! We just couldn’t fault it in any way. The best holiday ever. Thank you to our hosts for making it so welcoming.

The cottage exceeded expectations.

It was very well situated, a short drive to Lynton and Lynmouth and a beautiful walk through the woods along the riverbank from Barbrook to Lynton. Ideal for a family group and dog. The cottage was very well equipped and we would definitely recommend and hopefully return.

Glenview cottage was absolutely beautiful both inside and out.

It was immaculately clean on our arrival and the provisions of tea, coffee and milk were much appreciated as was the gift of locally produced honey. The cottage was extremely well kept and had everything that we needed.

Stunning property.

So well equipped and very homely. Lovely to have milk in the fridge on arrival, and a bottle of wine! The twin room bed wasn't too comfortable (for an adult) and the bats in the attic can get very noisy at night. I would think its mostly children that would sleep in the twin room and asleep before they get really active. Not easy to get takeaway here, and if eating out book in advance or you may struggle. Overall a wonderful location and lots of fun things do do!

Glenview is a lovely cottage.

Although it is very close to Lynton and Lynmouth, due to the hilly nature of the area, there is no easy walk in to town. However don't let that put you off. Glenview is extremely well equipped, with everything you would need to cook meals plus plenty of crockery and glasses, which means using the dishwasher is not a problem. It is spotlessly clean and beds are very comfy. The two showers are excellent and having a further toilet downstairs is a bonus.There are TV's in almost all the rooms and lots of little extras provided, including all cleaning and laundry products plus milk, tea, coffee, sugar, juice, salt/pepper, vinegar, tin foil. Even though it is right on the road there was no problem with traffic noise at night even with the windows open. It's elevated position means it may be difficult for anyone with mobility issues although there is a sloping path up from the road as an alternative to the steps. Overall the property is excellent.

This is the first time we have used Sykes cottages, and must say from start to finish have been very impressed, I had a question and couldn't get through on the phone so emailed and they responded within 15 mins calling me back.

It was very clean and spacious. The location is excellent with lots of amazing walks available. Our family of 5 settled in well and had a lovely holiday.

A good well equipped cottage, where we had fun as a family.

The garden is not enclosed and next to a fairly busy B road so small children or dogs need supervision. Nearby petrol station (200m or so) has some basics. The permissive footpath the other side of river (cross footbridge, up steps, turn left, find little wooden gate) can Take you to pub at Lyn Bridge, or west Lyn, and Also down hill to Lynmouth. Walking further? Watersmeet, And Tarka Trail are also easily accessed by this route, but remember this is North Devon it is very hilly!

Great walks on the doorstep and views out to grey squirrels and woodpeckers in the garden. Lounge, kitchen and bedrooms were very comfortable. Care needs to be taken when leaving the parking pull-in which is off a fast bend in the road.

A great comfortable house the only thing letting it down is the oven.

Glenview is a lovely house set in a peaceful location a short drive from Lynton.

The house is very well equipped and a comfortable place to return to after a busy day visiting the towns and beaches. Lynton and Lynmouth are lovely towns with plenty of restaurants and gift shops. The owners had left milk,tea,coffee and a welcome bottle of wine. My grandsons loved the unsual garden and really enjoyed the holiday.

The cottage was a home away from home.

The owner had left milk in the fridge; tea coffee and sugar as well as basic condiments. We really enjoyed the white wine and the honey (although not together!) throughout the holiday. The cottage was immaculate and well placed to see so many places in the area. We did enjoy the walk into Lynton and everyone we met in the area was helpful and approachable. We had no reason to call the owner during our stay as so much was explained in the information left there - including the complicated, but useful, re-cycling information. The kitchen was very well appointed and the equipment supplied was as good as, if not better, than our own! We have used Helpful Holidays before and will continue to use them when we want to stay in the area.

Glenview is a fabulous cottage brimming with everything you could possibly need for a stress free stay away from home.

It is beautifully kept, comfortable beds, relaxing lounge and lovely large outdoor area which we used continually as the weather was so glorious. There is a river nearby that you can hear which just adds to the tranquil space nestled in between lots of trees, so relaxing. Very close to Lynmouth which is stunning and just what you would expect from a charming Devon seaside town. Recommend highly, and already planning to return!

This was by far the best equipped house we have stayed in, the kitchen particularly.

The underfloor heating was wonderful for those of us suffering from cold toes. Comfort plus.

This was our second year and yes it is a great place to stay always clean tidy with a warm feeling on entry, love this property.
