What guests are saying

An unusual and excellent base for a holiday - spacious, comfortable, well-maintained and well-equipped.

Parking is free and very easy. We went in mid-September, when the house was relatively quiet, and were pleasantly surprised to have undisturbed use of the well-maintained and heated swimming pool, the snooker room, and the conservatory overlooking the attractive grounds. The house has an interesting history. It is now split into a number of apartments. Some of these are occupied by long-term residents - who were friendly and helpful. A minor drawback is that the walls between the apartments are not very thick, so on a couple of evenings we could hear muffled conversations and music. I.e. don't put on the TV too loud! On most days, though, all was quiet and peaceful. The owner was easily contactable, good-humoured and generous. Please be aware that this property is secluded, accessed only via a couple of miles of the notorious "Devon roads" - lanes not much wider than a car. Fortunately we only had to reverse to passing places half a dozen times during the week, but I'd advise you to ignore your satnav and keep to the provided route, as routes from other directions are even narrower and longer! Overall, this property exceeded our expectations, and has left us with very good memories. We would recommend it highly.

Lovely, comfy property with very good facilities.

Comfy sofa and bed. Beautifully furnished and well stocked kitchen utensils. Loved the outdoor pool and grounds. Good communication from the owner. WiFi speed was tricky at times but we managed fine. Would have loved an outdoor table to go with the chairs. Just a bit of fluff on the floor when we arrived but we think it was from the wool rug. All in all, a super stay. Thank you.
