Description

Resting on one of the many winding streets of the picturesque harbour town of Brixham is this charming one-bedroom fisherman’s cottage, Pilchard Cottage.

Beautifully renovated, this romantic bolthole by the sea is the ideal location for your next escape to Devon.

Spend evenings within the open-plan living space snuggled up on the sofa enjoying a favourite film on the TV, or play music from the Bluetooth speaker as you share a bottle of wine with your other half and plan your adventures.

The exposed timber beams and painted stone wall adds character to this homely setting, contrasting perfectly with the contemporary breakfast bar overlooking the kitchen space.

Discover all you need for cooking up delicious dishes, with an electric oven and a two-ring electric hob, perfect for treating your partner to a romantic meal for two.

Travel up the stairs and find yourself within the lovely bedroom featuring a king-size bed, with more exposed stone and skylights to add light into the room, it’s a tranquil setting.

Freshen up in the shower room up here, featuring a walk-in shower and the added benefit of a heated towel rail.

Begin exploring this quaint town by first heading out of the cute stable door and strolling down to the harbour to see Brixham’s amazing focal point, a life size replica of Sir Francis Drake’s iconic ship, The Golden Hind.

From here you can venture along Brixham Breakwater built to protect the harbour and affording a different but pleasing view of the town, before heading to Breakwater Beach, one of the cleanest beaches on the English Riviera and awarded Blue Flag status, as well as being popular with scuba divers for the rate seagrass beds, seahorses, fish and even shipwrecks!

Browse the stalls at the Brixham Art and Craft Market held every Saturday from Easter to October showcasing unique items and crafts, and catch an evening show at Brixham Theatre which puts on various live music and entertainment on throughout the year.

St Mary’s Bay and Churston Cove are two more beautiful beaches to visit, with the latter being a secluded cove accessed via a steep path, while those who want to get out onto the water can book a trip with Sea Kayak Devon to explore the stunning Devon coastline themselves.

Paignton is just further up the coast where you'll find the amazing Paignton Zoo, while the South West Coast Path can take you south down to Kingswear with ferries available to bring you across to Dartmouth.

Discover a world of wonderful adventures along the English Riviera from the lovely Pilchard Cottage.

A lovely little cottage.

A very short stroll to the restaurants, pubs, bars & beaches in Brixham.

A wonderfully cosy base in the centre of Brixham.

The only reason I haven't given five stars is because there was no blind on one of the bedroom windows and an almost transparent one on the other. It probably wouldn't bother most people but I like a blackout. It would be simple to correct, making Pilchard Cottage ideal.
