“This was our second visit to Chough Cottage and we loved it just as much as the first time.”

Clean, very comfortable and welcoming - it has everything you need for a lovely stay. We love the view from the lounge window overlooking the bay, and the location is about as convenient as it gets. So close to both Kingsand and Cawsand beaches, the shops and pubs just minutes away. One evening we were treated to an all male choir singing outside the pub behind the cottage! Lovely atmosphere and an unexpected gem right on our doorstep. The entrance to Mount Edgecumbe Country Park is a minute's walk and perfect for our morning dog walk. This is such a lovely spot and we will be back! Christine & family.

The property

In Kingsand, a little 'upside down' house with good sea views, snuggled in a row of 18th century houses, 150 yards up from the beach and 60 yards from the Coast Path.

Access is from a narrow lane which has no passing traffic. Hall (for coats/boots) and 3 steps up to two bedrooms - a twin, and a double (TV/DVD) with French windows to a tiny courtyard, imaginatively done just for two; loo.

From the hall, stairs (stairgate) up to light open-plan living/dining/kitchen (dishwasher, microwave, fridge, electric cooker) with TV/DVD/PVR, iPod dock, pine floor (rug) and those lovely time-wasting sea views - binoculars provided to observe passing shipping.

Also from the hall, more stairs down to smart, roomy bathroom (step up to roll-top bath, separate shower, washbasin, washer-drier).

Loading and unloading, 30 yards away; car park, 200 yards.

Thoroughly well done, comfortable and convenient.Kingsand and Cawsand: exquisite adjoining fishing villages in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty sheltered by a wooded headland; pebble-and-sand beaches, family pubs, cafés, essential shops.

Watersports hire in Cawsand.

Whitsand Bay, 1 mile; Mount Edgcumbe (800 acres for walking), and seasonal pedestrian ferry to Plymouth (city amenities, theatre, cinema), 2½ miles.
