Cousham Cottage

I’ve lost count of the amount of times we’ve stayed in beautiful Cousham Cottage.

It’s the only place for us in Kernow. As soon as you walk through the door, it feels lovely. Clean and welcoming. Cosy but far from cramped and very well equipped. Everything you need is supplied. Both bedrooms are a very good size as are the bathrooms. The quirky, upstairs garden is a treat and a real sun trap. The location really couldn’t be better. Literally seconds from the beach, pubs and fabulous views. There’s a small Spar within easy walking distance too. We try to keep our money in Kingsand-Cawsand but there are larger shops for supplies in Millbrook, a couple of miles away. Parking is a short walk away and no problem at all. You can unload and load within feet of the front door. Huge thanks for the lovely flowers and welcome pack that were there to greet us, all really appreciated. Highly recommended!

This is our second visit to Cousham Cottage and we shall definitely book again.

We’ve been visiting the area on and off for over 25 years and stayed in lots of different places and Cousham Cottage has to be one of the nicest ones. It was comfortable, close to everything, dog friendly and clean and tidy. Thank you for a lovely week,

A real home from home. Spotless as usual. Everything we needed was there. Just can't find fault!

This cottage is so cosy.

We felt at home straight away. Compliments to the cleaners, the cottage was spotless. Corsham is fitted out to a very high standard with excellent kitchen and bathrooms. We shall definitely book another stay.

2nd time our family have stayed in this cottage and we were not as impressed as our first time.

The cottage is set in a perfect spot and ideal for couples with a dog/dogs. However we found the cleanliness could have been improved. The curtain pole in the double bedroom remains broken and a safety issue as it fell down multiple times during our stay - We reported this last time we stayed however it has still not been fixed. The cottage does not appear to have had much maintenance since our last visit. We were told there would be logs provided for the fire however on arrival there was only 1. The welcome/information book appears in need of an update for local recommendations. We did enjoy staying in the area and proximity to the beach is fantastic.

Wonderful stay at a super cottage in a great location.

The only thing I would like to add is that there are no recycling facilities.

I took my recycling home but did notice that other holiday lets did provide recycling facilities.

Had a great time in Cawsand, the cottage was nearly as charming as we remembered it from our previous stay.

However, the electricity and the folder for the house need to be redone. The housekeeper does not work anymore and all our attempts to contact the owners were in vain. We replaced the light bulb at the dining table on our own cost, but when the switch at the stairs caused a short circuit, we gave up. There was a problem with the rubbish collection, so we had to take our rubbish somewhere else. We would like to come back sometime but hope that amendments can be made by then.

The cottage had plenty of characters and we enjoyed our stayed.

Easy walk to the beach and to the local pubs. Only downfall was, one of us is Deaf and subtitle was not available on the tv esp. on a raining day.

A very comfortable and well appointed cottage.

We needed some more light bulbs and this was dealt with immediately. Flowers , wine and milk were provided, a nice touch. Would retro others .

The cottage is superb.

There was nothing we needed that wasn't catered for. Perfect location to relax and unwind. The beach, a pub and costal walks all within 100 yards of the property. We have already booked for next year and look forward to many more holidays staying here.

Can't fault it at all. Clean and very comfortable and in a fantastic position. Not too much footfall past your door but still so close to the sea, just one reason why we love it.

For us it was the perfect cottage in a great location, close to the best beach in the bay.

Well furnished and decorated, we felt very much at home and immediately comfortable in our holiday surroundings. It was intimate without being claustrophobic, a perfect place for a couple, as we were. The owner was very repsonsive to a slight issue we had. We were very impressed and will book again.

A really nice cottage and we enjoyed ourselves there very much.

At 6 ft tall, a few times my head bored the brunt of the low beams but that was expected. One thing I would recommend is putting a coloured strip on the step from the living/dinning room to the kitchen, As the tiles are the same colour we had a couple of trips, Otherwise a really great place and would love to return.

The cottage was as great as we remembered from our previous visit and the friends we brought with us this time were delighted with our choice.

It's so well equipped and the welcome pack was an extra nice touch. Our friends suggested some white tape along the edge of the step from the sitting room to the kitchen and the last step into the kitchen from upstairs, we all missed our footing more than on ce. More hangers, please, a small niggle. A very enjoyable stay.

Lovely cottage in a perfect spot

Yet another totally wonderful stay in Cousham Cottage.

Cannot fault a thing. Clean, warm, cosy, well equipped and close to everything. It's perfect and we never want to leave. Literally seconds from the beach. The Bay bar and restaurant on the beach is lovely, great staff and the food is lush! Wander a few minutes further and there are more pubs and a couple of shops. You never need to leave! I've said it in a previous review, Cousham Cottage is like a warm hug. It truly is. Can't wait until our next stay.

But I knew the area was fantastic before booking as I grew up just up the road at Rame head.

This was our first time in Cousham Cottage although we come to Kingsand/Cawsand every year.

Near the beach and all amenities. Comfortable living area and great garden which has the sun for the majority of the day. Kitchen has everything you need.

This is a traditional cottage very close to the beach.

The owners have managed to provide all the modern conveniences whilst maintaining a “cottagy” feeling. Downstairs there are two modern bathrooms, one with bath, one with a really good shower, both with heated towel rails. Hot water is plentiful. The kitchen is well accessorised. Nice dining area by the window; cosy and comfortable sitting area with wood burning stove. There is also a handy internal room for keeping wood and bits and pieces. Two good-sized bedrooms upstairs, and great outdoor patio area on this floor. Well furnished and accessorised throughout - simple, not tacky. You can’t park there, but the car park is close and you can drive close by to load and offload. We thought it was a good place in a good location.

.Great to have a dishwasher too .. Plus 2 beautiful large bathrooms ,beds very comfortable. Loved the outside roof garden . A lovely part of Cornwall to visit .

We stay at Cousham Cottage twice a year.

It is like a warm hug. You can tell that it’s a much loved property. Everything you need is there, spotlessly clean too. A few steps from the beach, pubs and and stunning views. We really wouldn’t want to change where we stay in this part of Cornwall. The cottage couldn’t be improved upon. Two bathrooms, one has a lovely walk in shower and the other a bath, so you’re well catered for there! Beautiful, modern kitchen with all the equipment you need. The lounge diner is cosy and warm and the wood burner adds to that. Bedrooms are spacious with comfortable beds and beautiful, crisp linen. The garden is so pretty and a wonderful place to sit and chill. Although there isn’t a parking space, this is not an issue in the slightest. You can park very close by to unpack your car and the car park is just a short stroll away. We paid £39 to park for the week (via an app), which I think is very reasonable. The housekeeper, Liz, is just a star. She ensures we have a marvellous stay every time. The cottage is always in top notch order whenever we’ve stayed. What more can I say? It’s perfect!

We really enjoyed our stay.

Our only comments meant entirely constructively is we felt the initial supply of logs was poor and the lounge needed the fire to be comfortable, and that when paying for a week a greater supply of loo roll should be provided. We let a cottage on airbnb where we supply all loo roll and two large baskets of logs. We love the cottage and had a great time so just minor points for consideration

Cousham Cottage is where we stay twice a year.

It's absolutely perfect. Quirky, homely and really well loved. Every comfort you could want. It is always spotless and this goes for the towels and bedding too. Liz, who looks after the cottage, is a star. I can't recommend it highly enough. Seconds from the sea too. The car park is 2 minutes walk away and very reasonably priced. When you arrive however, you can park very close to the front door to unload your vehicle. There is a lovely patio area if you want to sit outside, reached by going upstairs! So pretty and there is a partial sea view. It's our piece of heaven for a week.

Cousham Cottage is a delight.

It has a super location in a very quiet street but only a few steps to the beach, and is a quirky but very well laid-out old cottage. The only minor drawback is that it is a typical old cottage with low ceilings and doorways, so you need to mind your head! It was beautifully clean and well equipped, and plenty of space for four people.

The little roof terrace with a sliver of sea view is a real boon though a sun umbrella would have been welcome!

We loved staying in this beautiful cottage, a great shower, and the second bathroom by the main entrance very useful.

A well equipped kitchen and comfortable sofas & beds. Also a great location for swimming and walks. Would definitely love to be back!!

Couldn't fault it, all the equipment we needed and a fabulous shower! Freddie our dog loved being so close to Cawsland beach. Staff at The Bay and Halfway House pubs very friendly.

The cottage oozes character and history and has been generally well modernised.

The owners had generously provided more kitchen items than we were expecting, very helpful. The new bathroom with walk in rain shower was wonderful. A couple of niggles: the bathroom was not completely clean. We did not need to use the front bathroom, however, no water came out of the hot tap, so we could have had issues. The cottage instruction pack needs updating by the owner. A car parking pass is no longer provided but we spent a lot of time looking for one, as referred to in the instructions. The local councils have changed their practice and require a registration number to be entered on parking passes. This would be a valuable benefit as guests are required to use the village car park apart from loading and unloading. It would not be too difficult for the owner and Sykes to require future bookers to provide their car registration numbers in advance so that the owner/housekeeper could purchase a permit and have it waiting in the cottage. The cottage in Devon we had booked for the week prior offered this benefit which we appreciated. Otherwise, Sykes should make it very clear in the Cousham cottage advertising that bookers would benefit from ordering a weekly pass in advance from the local council. Finally, the spiral staircase required extra care to negotiate, especially when descending. Apart from these niggles, we enjoyed the cottage and particularly the roof terrace at wine o'clock, very much indeed.

Beautiful cottage, perfectly situated in the heart of the village with great access to beaches, pubs and a few local shops.

Great that the cottage is dog friendly, as is the nearby beach in Kingsand and wonderful coastal walks and the grounds surrounding Mount Edgecombe. For those days you want to escape village life, a ferry connects directly to the historic Barbican in Plymouth. The cottage itself is comfortable, well equipped and immaculately clean, with a little secluded courtyard offering some outdoor space to eat, drink and listen to the sea nearby. We very much look forward to returning.

Great service from Sykes, coupled with a wonderful owner and housekeeper too. Lots of little touches make this the best place we've ever stayed in Cornwall....and we've stayed in a lot!

An absolutely fabulous cottage.

We just couldn't fault it. Sykes were brilliant to deal to begin with and then we end up in the most beautiful 17th century Cornish gem. Perfect!

We have been going to Cawsand for many years and cousham cottage is now one of our favourites.

The outside space which was a sun trap all day really made it special

I have spent several holidays at Cousham Cottage.

The owner and caretaker are lovely, any little problems are deal with quickly. The kitchen is very well stocked with all you need I make meals if your don't want to eat out.

Beautiful cottage, full of history and charm.

Very well equipped and situated in a very convenient location with a public car park nearby. The cottage is only a stone’s throw from the beach and there are other beaches nearby. If you like walking you have come to the right place as there are plenty of scenic walks close by. A glimpse of the sea can be seen from the little garden. There are a few pubs in Cawsand and nearby Kingsand which all serve good food

A BEAUTIFUL COTTAGE AND WELL MAINTAINED.

ONCE WE MASTERED THE NEW TECHNOLOGY ON THE CERAMIC HOB EVERY THING WAS FINE.LOVELY PLACES TO EAT OUT IN KINGSAND JUST 5 MINUTES WALK FROM THE COTTAGE.WE WOULD FULLY RECOMMEND PEOPLE TO TRY A HOLIDAY IN THIS AREA.

Cottage is lovely and has everything that we required.

We have stayed several times, being honest I would say that there are a few things that need looking into. Lots of chipped mugs and glasses, the kitchen tap that falls apart and the side gate which has a dodgy lock (these were a problem last year too!). However, these are minor things that did not spoil the experience. A lovely place and we would come back again. ***Owner response***I’m glad you found the cottage lovely. We always try to address everything that comes up immediately. We have replaced all the chip mugs and the tap, which has a moving part can become loose on occasion. will be fixed. We are aware the gate can be affected by the weather and can get a bit stiff. We plan to replace this in the Autumn. I’m sorry if this was an inconvenience to you and we look forward to seeing you again.

Cousham was a very well stocked cottage with plenty of clean crockery and cutlery and a very effective dishwasher which is an essential in a holiday home in my opinion.

The flowers and tea tray were a lovely welcome.The whole place had a very good atmosphere and I will be rebooking. The one disadvantage was that both bathrooms were downstairs and the stairs need care when using but all the other advantages and proximity to the beach far outweigh this disadvantage.

Ideal location in an idyllic place, beaches and 4 pubs, all with food, within minutes walking distance.

Having been here for last 4 years a little tired in places and cleanliness on arrival not up to previous years.

It is a lovely cottage very well equipped and in an excellent position for the beach and for the many scenic walks around the area

Superb location .

... But maybe people should be made aware that on evenings when it's hot and sunny it can get a little noisy, when people are stood outside the pub the cottage faces the back of .... Not that it bothered us in the slightest, as we were usually there with them :D Only other point maybe, is that we were unaware that there is no access to outside space/garden without going up the staircase ..... a slight problem for us, as our two elderly dogs couldn't manage them, and couldn't join us sitting out. But it didn't spoil our visit at all ....

A great little haven tucked away from the whirl of the world. A perfect place to enjoy everything that this part of Cornwall offers.

Booked at short notice so more complicated than usual, but appreciated owner's flexibility and office staff's patience when I was finding website frustrating.

.. Fab property in brilliant position, really comfortably and stylishly furnished, spotlessly clean - as always in our experience with HH. Lounge appeared much bigger in website photos than it actually was, but we enjoyed its cosiness, it wasn't a problem at all. Only slightly critical comment is that I feel it is misleading and inaccurate to say that heating is included, when we actually needed the wood burner to be warm, and yet only a small quantity of logs, sufficient for one evening, were provided. Re. Feedback being published or not - no preference. Still awaiting notification of return of our deposit.
