“I’ve lost count of the amount of times we’ve stayed in beautiful Cousham Cottage.”

It’s the only place for us in Kernow. As soon as you walk through the door, it feels lovely. Clean and welcoming. Cosy but far from cramped and very well equipped. Everything you need is supplied. Both bedrooms are a very good size as are the bathrooms. The quirky, upstairs garden is a treat and a real sun trap. The location really couldn’t be better. Literally seconds from the beach, pubs and fabulous views. There’s a small Spar within easy walking distance too. We try to keep our money ...

We try to keep our money in Kingsand-Cawsand but there are larger shops for supplies in Millbrook, a couple of miles away. Parking is a short walk away and no problem at all. You can unload and load within feet of the front door. Huge thanks for the lovely flowers and welcome pack that were there to greet us, all really appreciated. Highly recommended!

Thanks Alison for the lovely review, you’ve been staying with us almost since the beginning and it’s always lovely to see you return each time! Thanks for your loyalty and also your love for our beautiful villages. Nicki x Property Owner

The property

In Cawsand, a stone's throw from the beach, a 17th cent., Grade II listed cottage, its interesting past hinted at by the smugglers’ tunnel disguised in an under-stair cupboard.

Once also the village sweetshop, it nestles alongside sister cottages on a narrow lane behind the square with only occasional vehicles passing.

Behind, sheltered by a high wall and with a peek of the sea between rooftops, an enclosed suntrap paved terrace with decked area (table/chairs).

Inside, good-sized rooms and original beams (some low lintels).

From the lane, 3 steps up to tiled lobby and bathroom (suite, shower over bath).

Stable doors and step up to living/dining room (smart TV/DVD, woodburner) and smart cottage-style kitchen (slimline dishwasher, washer-drier, microwave, freezer, larder fridge, electric cooker) with slate floor and granite worktops.

Rear hall (space for beach gear/boots, children’s board games) and shower-room (suite, overhead shower plus hand-shower).

Steep narrow stairs (5'2" beam, rope rail) wind up to the first floor landing (smuggler's tunnel cupboard; door to garden) and two bedrooms - a double (5' bed), and a twin.

Not suitable for guests with limited mobility.

Loading/unloading outside; car park, 175 yards.

Pub, shop, 50 yards.

A welcoming cottage in a friendly seaside village. Kingsand and Cawsand: exquisite adjoining fishing villages in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty sheltered by a wooded headland; pebble-and-sand beaches, family pubs, cafés, essential shops.

Watersports hire in Cawsand.

Whitsand Bay, 1 mile; Mount Edgcumbe (800 acres for walking), and seasonal pedestrian ferry to Plymouth (city amenities, theatre, cinema), 2½ miles.

Plymouth by car ferry, 8½ miles.
