Ellen was really friendly.

Perfect stay. Peace and solitude is here at the barn.wonderful walks close to White Tor. Walk is uphill from Peter Tavey but the food is excellent. Nice walks close to Mary Tavey as well. All in all a wonderful stay and would return

So comfortable, beautiful view, so close to the moors and Tavistock.

Quite a drive up to the farm but well worth it, lovely hosts.

This is my second time staying here and my partner's first.

Once again we had a fantastic time! The hosts were incredibly helpful and kind and the location is absolutely perfect for exploring Dartmoor!

One of the best we have been too even the pot holes were not as bad as we exspected.

Probably could of done with a proper size Bin for the kitchin but no big deal

A lovely barn conversion, clean and comfortable.

The only noise you hear is the sound of sheep in the fields, so if you like peace and quiet this is the place.

Nestling barn was perfect, it's was spotlessly clean and had plenty of character.

It was so peaceful, just the birds singing and noises from the animals, just bliss .The view was stunning, you could see for miles, as it is quite high up. The only downside was getting there, the road going up to the house had lots of pot holes, although it did state, that the road maybe unsuitable for some vehicles, we were not prepared for what confronted us, also very narrow lanes from Peter Tavy up to the turn off. This would be the only reason we might not come again.

The Nestling is a superb holiday cottage, well equipped, clean, warm & comfortable, great for dogs too.

Good chats with the owners. It is in an ideal location for access to the moors & Tors of Dartmoor. We were very lucky with the weather. We had many long walks. It was lovely to hear the Cuckoo every day, seeing the lambs/sheep at the farm and the Dartmoor ponies & their foals, even saw a fox. Thank you!

This was a lovely, quiet venue, just right for a relaxed honeymoon.

Compact, but with everything we needed. More information on access would have been useful as I have mobility issues with steps, but we managed. Being able to self regulate the heat would have been good, but we do understand why it was controlled by the owner. Beautiful views from the windows, and interesting micro climate. Lots of places to vist from this location. Ellen was warm and welcoming and helpful in any way that she could be. We may well be back.

I was looking for piece, quiet and tranquility and that's exactly what I got, wonderful location, surroundings picturesque, accommodation had everything I needed, relaxing, clean and well equipped.

The lane is not a problem as its Devon and to be expected. Tourist information would be helpful in the cottage and cleaning cloths under the sink, but you have provided spray chemicals. So thanks for them.

When moving the bed to gain access to the wall socket we were confronted by a lot of accumulated dust and spider webs; the terrace and railings needed repairing; the lawn could be tidier.

One couldn't beat the ambience of the surrounding setting, so pieceful throughout, a beautiful spacious view! We would happily return for another stay and also recommend it to our friends. Thank you!

Once again Sykes came up trumps Ellen and her husband were very friendly and hospitable, only one very, very small thing the plug in the basin in the bathroom didn’t fit properly and so Dennis found it difficult to shave

Couple of things you could add to the beautiful cottage.

Foot stool and if you could offer a breakfast box for the following morning would be lovely. The eggs and biscuits were a lovely touch. We would definitely stay again.

I loved my stay at Nestling Cottage, exactly what I wanted, some peace and quiet for a week and as the cottage is up on a hill the most wonderful views

Road to property is very steep with pot holes and blind bends.

Property was clean and well presented, small garden in need of TLC. Owners were very friendly and helpful. Very small kitchen lacking in basic essentials i.e colander OR slotted spoon, mixing basin. Very comfortable couch. Owners are aware of problem with duvet and mattress

So peaceful and relaxing with everything you could need for a really good holiday. Excellent hosts - very welcoming and friendly, couldn't ask for more. Will definitely re-visit .

We had an amazing time staying in the cottage.

The views were simply stunning. We had a little problem with the bed being far to noisy, but as soon as we mentioned it, it was fixed on the same day. All joking aside it was extremely noisy and they were so grateful we pointed it out as like they said they don’t sleep in there so they wouldn’t know. After that we had an amazing time. Lovely cottage in a rural area, very relaxing, great for de-stressing.

The only downside is that the advertised WiFi is not working and only in the sitting room you can get signal/reception of your mobile phone.

Fabulous week away staying at Nestling on White Tor Farm.

Very cosy and brilliantly situated with great views. Although it is a remote hill farm, there is walking right from the door and only a short drive to lots of other Dartmoor attractions so best of both worlds. Tavistock only a few miles away for shopping etc. Loved our week here. Ellen, the owner, was really helpful. Can't rate it highly enough. Very sad to leave. Had many holidays as a child on Dartmoor and so good to be back visiting old haunts and exploring new and we will certainly be rebooking in the future.

Very comfortable cottage, lovely location with walking from the cottage onto the moor.

Really enjoyed siting in the garden taking in the views and star gazing at night. Owners very friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend to friends. Peter Tavy pub excellent for food. All round relaxing and enjoyable holiday.

Well equipped cottage, spectacular views and very quiet.

Unfortunately the bed was very noisy and very uncomfortable. This spoilt our stay but could easily be rectified.

Really lovely place in a very rural, quiet location.

The flat had everything we needed and was really comfortable. Would highly recommend it.

The views from White Tor barn are stunning and I couldn't fault the cleanliness and facilities provided!

There are many fabulous walks straight out on the moors from the farm too. Can't wait to return later in the year!

The cottage was as comfy, clean and well furbished as usual, the hosts friendly and welcoming and surroundings beautiful.

Only downside this time was the state of the access road and track due to local farm activity in extremely wet weather Still a wonderful break and will come again

Stayed for 6 nights in September.

We were greeted with fresh milk, eggs and a sweet treat on our arrival. The cottage was perfectly suited for a couple and accommodated our pet dog perfectly. Clean and well maintained with spectacular views of Dartmoor and the stunning night sky. The access road from Peter Tavy is quite the experience and not for the faint hearted! Don’t let that put you off a wonderful venue with more than helpful hosts Ellen and Geoff.

It is a delightful, well equipped, warm and cosy cottage.

Plenty of room for one or two people, very dog friendly. Access is a mile or so down country lane and up a steepish farm road up to the cottages, which was nowhere near as bumpy as some people have suggested. Maybe not for your low slung Ferrari. but fine for normal folk. More than compensated by one of the most beautiful views from the cottage and garden. Stunning and tranquil. I heard a cuckoo every day. Owners are very friendly and helpful. One small reservation is that the wonderfully comfortable double bed is rather low so, if you are a bit older and less mobile, you have work at getting up . Otherwise, very Highly recommended.

Not sure if it was us, but the pictures we viewed on the website led us to believe there would be a wood burning stove, turns out that was the other barn conversion?

Not sure if there were pictures of both properties on there. No bigee we had a lovely time, hots were helpful and their homemade sausages amazing!

Very relaxing peaceful and remote setting

Fantastic location and hosts were friendly and helpful.

The cottage would benefit from a small folding clothes maiden so hand-washed items could be dried easily. It would be great if a small gate could be fitted to make the garden secure as it’s not very relaxing to be constantly watching the dog doesn’t wander. Overall, a great little cottage in a great location.

THE ACCOMMODATION WAS GOOD, NO PROBLEMS, BUT TO REACH IT IS ON A SINGLE TRACK ROAD, WITH THE LAST MILE BEING VERY BUMPY.

WHICH DID SPOIL THE HOLIDAY, AS YOU ONLY WISHED TO USE THE ROAD ONCE A DAY BECAUSE OF THE BUMPS.

Beautifully situated granite cottage on farm at foot of White Tor with its remnants of Bronze Age village .

Ideally placed for long walks or trips to moorland villages. We were welcomed by the owner on our arrival and made to feel at home .Thank you Mr and Mrs Thompson and Sykes Cottages for a truly relaxing holiday.

WhitieTor farm cottages was delightful.

Clean, well equipped. very comfortable and in a beautifulpeaceful location. The owners are lovely, we had a little welcome treat, they were there when needed but not overly present. Love the fact they grabbed us a loaf of bread from the local shop when we got snowed in. The only thing that would have improved our great holiday was if the garden had a gate and extra buttons to the fencing, so it was totally secure and the dogs couldn’t have roamed onto the farm. But the paddock to run the dogs in was a dream come true for our two dogs. Many thanks
