“We had a lovely stay at this recently renovated cottage.”

It has been finished to a very high standard and was a welcome retreat during the heatwave, staying wonderfully cool throughout our visit. The owners are a lovely family who were friendly, welcoming and always happy to offer help or local recommendations. The cottage is also very dog friendly, which we really appreciated. It has been finished to a very high standard and was a welcome retreat during the heatwave, staying wonderfully cool throughout our visit. The owners are a lovely family who were friendly, welcoming and always happy to offer help or local recommendations. The cottage is also very dog friendly, which we really appreciated. There were just a couple of small things that could make future stays even better. The cutlery, particularly the knives, could do with being replaced as they weren't very effective. We were also surprised that there wasn't a vacuum cleaner, basic cleaning materials or a shower squeegee available, as these are useful for keeping the cottage tidy during a stay. One thing worth noting for anyone with a reactive dog is that the owners have their own dog(who is lovely!) and cat, and their garden sits directly alongside the cottage's small garden. The outdoor space isn't completely private because of the neighbouring garden, so it's something to bear in mind if your dog is sensitive to nearby people or animals. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay in a beautifully renovated cottage with welcoming hosts, and we'd happily recommend it.

Hi Sarah, thank you for your feedback & advice to future guests regarding the dog situation. We have noted your observations & will certainly plan to include some extra items you suggested. With having to equip the cottage from scratch we were fortunate to buy some kitchen/dining crockery (cutlery!) etc from someone who was retiring from hosting a holiday let. May be we need to upgrade the cutlery now! Glad you enjoyed your stay overall, it was lovely meeting you both. Property Owner

This welcoming, pet-friendly retreat is perfect for a small family or a group of friends, offering an enclosed garden and far reaching views.

From the designated parking space, step into the cottage via a practical boot room—particularly useful for those with dogs—and enjoy the view of the moorland from the kitchen window.

The well-equipped kitchen features a fridge-freezer, double oven, and induction hob, ideal for those who enjoy cooking.

Meals can be shared in the dining room beside a striking ornamental fireplace, followed by a relaxing evening in the sitting room, complete with a smart TV and a wood-burner-effect electric fire.

Guests are also welcome to explore the wider grounds, though please be aware of the ponds—families with young children should take extra care.

At the end of the day, choose between two thoughtfully furnished bedrooms: a twin room served by a ground-floor bathroom and separate shower room, or a king-size room with its own en-suite shower.

The owner also offers guided Dartmoor tours in a trusted Land Rover—ideal for those wishing to explore the area with a knowledgeable local.
