It was great to start with for the first few days and on the last two days I had to stay in the bedroom as had a long of wasps in the house there must be a nest in there because more turn up I had to get out quick

Accommodation was tired, in need of a redecorate with items that aren’t mismatched, worn out & from the local charity shop (I found crockery patterns that my nan used to have!

) furnishings needed replacing, it needs a deep clean & there were lots of items that didn’t work properly eg dishwasher couldn’t be opened more than a crack because door hit cabinet plinth causing it to bend, so didn’t use, outside light didn’t work so couldn’t see around decking area at night so didn’t use that either, lights on steep path were hit & miss which was dangerous, decking, bench & umbrella were old, mouldy & wobbly & in need of replacement so again, didn’t use, on arrival we found basket in lounge was broken & so had to pick up all the booklets & leaflets that had scattered onto the floor before we even set our bags down, blinds in kitchen wouldn’t open so had to keep using lights, tiles & sink in bathroom were cracked, Dusty & cobwebs hanging down from ceiling, black dog hair on bottom of bathroom sink pedestal, leak by toilet which I mopped up daily, rusty container for toilet brush, a packet & a half of cigarettes & a lighter were left at the property when we arrived, which I quickly scooped up, away from my curious 10yr old & the whole place smelt of old furniture & faintly of cigarette smoke, despite it being non smoking. Lovely swimming pool, quiet, tranquil location & cream tea on arrival was a nice touch. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. I didn’t feel able to report the issues as the owners described themselves as busy farmers, so we made the best of things, adapted to the issues which were irritating, disappointing & reduced our relaxation but weren’t holiday ending for us! If used as a base, perhaps on a walking holiday with a dog & if you don’t mind squeaky beds, thin mattresses & covers, tatty chairs, an oven that takes 2 hrs to cook oven chips & a freezer icebox that doesn’t close etc etc then this accommodation is ok, if you’re looking for comfort, fully working amenities & any kind of internet (data or wifi) connectivity, then this accommodation will not deliver that.

Would consider this lodge again. However in support and reading past comments the outside light on the decking area isn't working ? New light bulb? Thus stopped us using this area in evenings. Lots of spiders the cleaner should look out for these. The knob on the dishwasher cupboard is broken and kept coming off needs to be secured. Otherwise had a great stay the lodge is lovely & please pass on our Thanks to the Owners it was like being home from home, very good price for a two night stay as well, perfect location.
