“We had a great week at Hideaway!”

The property was very clean and comfortable and the beautiful gardens were lovely for us and our 2 dogs to use. The area of the hose is very quiet and rural but we visited some lovely places around half - 1hr drive away including westward ho' Appledore, Instow ,saunton sands and sandymouth! Many thanks to Chris and les for a great stay.

“Beautiful cottage and gardens in a quiet location.”

Although initially feels quite remote you are in fact only 3 or 4 miles from any shops or eating places. Ideally placed for visiting beaches and other sites around North Devon. Perfect for a quiet relaxing break.

Beautiful views of the countryside from all aspects, Christine and Les have created the most wonderful property providing everything you could possibly need on a self catering holiday. They were on hand to help if needed, but leave you to it. I am yet to stop in such a clean well equipped holiday home.

Les and Christine have created a fantastic holiday home, very modern, very clean, comfortable and everything you need for a self-catering holiday, a great find and a true gem. I was very grateful to Les, who helped me setup the EV charger for our PHEV. Very welcoming hosts, around to help while letting you get on with your holiday. We will definitely be booking again.

“I absolutely loved the Hideaway.”

The garden was a great size for our dog and children to run around in and had such a magical feel. We loved the open lay out of the house. It was warm, clean, well equipped with everything we could possibly need and so welcoming with a Christmas present under tte tree, fresh cakes and milk in the fridge. The owners were super friendly and helpful. We will definitely return there.

“The house is very well and comfortably equipped, and is located in a classic Devon rural location.”

“Hideaway is extremely spacious and very well fitted out.”

“The property is beautiful with everything one would need for a comfortable stay.”

We could not fault the cleanliness throughout. The bed was very comfortable with hotel quality bedding and pillows and the whole house is furnished to a high standard. There is a large , beautiful garden to relax in. Les and Christine were very welcoming and helpful . They have an extensive knowledge of the area and were able to suggest some great places to visit. Thank you for a lovely stay we will visit again.

“A beautifully presented cottage in a stunning, secluded location.”

The Hideaway is just a short distance from the market town of Great Torrington, coastal towns and walks and the fabulous garden at RHS Rosemoor. Chris and Les are perfect hosts, friendly and helpful, full of local recommendations. To sum the cottage up in three words: immaculate, stylish and tranquil. We will definitely book again, so much more to be enjoyed.

“We were the first guests!”

Everything was new, shiny and as described/photos. Beautiful quiet spot overlooking a forest, stream and a field of sheep. The EV charger for daytime solar trickle charge and overnight cheap rate charging was brilliant and saved us time and money charging on the road! Kitchen well equipped, and essential cleaning and bathroom supplies all provided. Great Torrington a few miles away has all the essentials, and quick to get to. A really pleasant stay, thank you!

Great Torrington is an unspoilt town built on high ground above the River Torridge, and is a fifteen-minute drive from the spectacular North Devon coast at Westward Ho!. A leading tourist attraction is Dartington Crystal where visitors can see craftsmen blowing and shaping glass, follow the history of glassmaking and buy some beautiful pieces. The town has a good selection of individual shops, a friendly atmosphere, and some good inns. About a mile from Great Torrington is the spectacular RHS garden at Rosemoor, splendid with colourful roses in summer and in a breathtaking setting by the River Torridge.
