Alexander's Cottage

The rear garden was in real need of attention and so was the back door which stuck badly.

The inner front door could not be closed properly from the outside and the inside catch was broken. That said we found the cottage cosy and comfortable and if the weather had been better would have had a really nice break in Frogmore. The Globe Inn is dog friendly too!

Garden needs attention. I didn’t research the road enough and wouldn’t have booked had i realised road so busy . It was a terrible work up getting onto the road as no pavement, dangerous with small children and a dog etc . Something needs to be done about slowing the traffic down, obviously not your problem but I wouldn’t recommend this property to a family with children.The road needs a working speed camera.

This was our second holiday at Alexander's Cottage and just as enjoyable.

We love the location and the cottage itself. You do however need your wits about you when coming out of the cottage as traffic can be quite fast on the road outside. The only negative thing we found was the unevenness of the flags on the patio area outside the kitchen. However, this would not deter us from staying again.

Delightful village setting and good location for sightseeing.

Great live music at the Globe Inn on Friday night. Paving outside back door very uneven and garden quite overgrown for getting to other 2 levels and also uneven for trying to carry food or drinks. Very nice welcome pack and everything needed catered for.

Lovely cottage very nicely furnished although we did know about the stairs they were quite difficult for one of us who suffers from c.

o.p.d. Which unfortunately means we wouldn’t be able to stay there again which is very sad as it was the nicest property we have stayed in and very handy for my sister who lives in the area.

Alexander's Cottage was wonderful.

The accommodation was so cosy and inviting. Laura and Rob were lovely hosts. The village and surrounds are fantastic. We loved every bit of our time at Alexander's Cottage and would love to stay there again.

Contact was prompt and a heating issue was resolved quickly.

We had a very enjoyable week especially when the weather improved.

Very comfortable and cosy cottage with everything provided. A very acceptable welcome pack too. The location was great as good beaches, cafes, shops and other seaside places, eg Dartmouth, were within easy reach. The only negative comment was the busy road and speed of traffic you had to negotiate coming out of the cottage.

We loved the cottage, a lot of thought and love has clearly gone into making it so comfortable and welcoming.

We booked very last minute as the weather looked good and the booking was really easy. Beds and sofas very comfy and WiFi was great (I had to work in the mornings so that was a relief)! No BBQ despite the listing and garden was very pretty but quite overgrown so top sections not very accessible - didn’t bother us as we were out most of the time. No toilet brush! We hadn’t realised there was no washing machine - normally not a problem as who wants to do washing on hols but as the weather was so hot it would have been good to be able to wash sand suncream and salt out of clothes - my husband didn’t bring enough. But we are too happy enjoying being to swim every day and enjoy the weather to care! And we could see it would be very difficult to install one due to space in the kitchen which was otherwise perfect and worked well… The little coffee shop along the road was great, amazing bread and a nice thing to have in the village. Will definitely be back - a quiet alternative to overpriced Salcombe accommodation! Thank you for letting us stay.

We had a lovely week long stay at Alexander’s.

The cottage was beautifully decorated and clean and the garden was in full bloom so we sat out most days for breakfast or dinner. The location was perfect for exploring lots of different areas of South Devon, as well as spending time locally for example at the Globe Inn which has a wonderful pub garden set up.

We enjoyed very much our holiday, it was great. Thanks you very much for the little presents left in the cottage by the owner and the weather was great during our stay. Very well located to visit devon and Cornwall.

Everything was perfect for us & the welcome basket was a lovely touch too. The cottage was so welcoming to come back to after days spent exploring & the bed really comfortable too. The South Hams is a wonderful place to visit. Thank you very much
