What guests are saying

When we got to the property, we were impressed with the overall look and feel of the cottage, but over the week we discovered lots of things that could have been sorted out prior to our arrival which would have improved our stay immeasurably.

1) The water in the hot tub looked as though it could do with a decent change and clean. 2) All bar one of the clocks in the property didn't work. 3) There were plenty of wine and champagne glasses but nowhere near enough drinking glasses for everyday use. 4) Cutlery was limited, meaning lots of washing up. 5) There was no welcome book/information book with information such as where the nearest supermarkets were, where the nearest hospital and GP surgery were and how to use things like the cooker, wifi, hot tub and where there were places to eat in the surrounding area. This would have been really welcome. 6) The outer patio bricks were not secure, meaning that we tripped a fair few times and bricks came loose. 7) The property garden was NOT enclosed and NOT suitable to leave dogs outside on their own. Our dog escaped in about two minutes on the first morning and was found two fields away. 8) The courtyard looked nothing like the photos we had seen online and looked very tired and in need of a face lift. 9) The power was very dodgy and we lost power completely a couple of times. 10) The wifi was nowhere near strong enough. Given that we were 5 adults and an 11 year old, we all had a mobile phone and my daughter has an iPad, it was impossible to use, very slow and nothing loading etc. 11) The lighting in the kitchen and the lounge particularly, was very dull and lights took a long time to 'warm up' and brighten. 12) For some reason, even though it was the last week of the school summer holidays, we were the only cottage on site being used. Whilst this wasn't a problem, it felt very strange and eerie to be the only ones there. Good points were the selection of bedrooms and the space available in the kitchen and lounge. The garden was lovely to sit in during the good weather, and the cottage was ideally situated to be near to lots of attractions and places to visit.
