Harcombe House Pet Friendly Bungalow

Some bungalows looking a little tired now.

As your becoming more dog friendly maybe dog wastes bins at dog friendly bungalows and more around the site. But apart from that such a tranquil setting amazing friendly staff, i felt like I floated most of tge week as was so relaxed. Its an amazing venue that's why we visit twice a year see you in a few months

The accommodation was as good as any.

Unfortunately we had to go home after two nights,nothing to do with the accommodation.

We truly loved the place and would go back.

The bottom shelf in fridge door had been broken off.. we managed without it as there were only three of us.. a family of 6 would have had a problem. When advised on leaving they knew about this... it would have been nice for them to tell us in advance. Access to toilet is very limited it is a bit of a squeeze getting in. Lovely place though... omfortable, well equipped

We were disappointed that the pub was closed

Stayed here for half term.

4 adults and a 2yr old. The place was perfect for us. Plenty of space. Good facilities. Our granddaughter loved the play area and pool. Great base for our holiday in Devon. Close to beaches at Exmouth and Dawlish. Would come again.

Well maintained, very comfortable bungalow in quiet countryside away from the crowds.

Plenty of things to do locally. My wife chilled out walking the grounds while l fished the lake. Enjoyed our stay at Harcome.

Lovely panoramic position.

Bungalow was clean and tidy, possibly lacking a few cooking items and the toilet is just too small. Plenty of walks and a good variety of on site activities. Would return again, no problem.

The accommodation was excellent, all aspects of the bungalow were clean and tidy.

It was warm and comfortable. We were very satisfied.

I visited this property with my daughter and grandaughter 13, again this year during half term.

It was a really lovely stay the bungalow in a great setting very relaxing peaceful and quiet. My only disappointment was the pillows which I did point out that they either needed a deep clean or replacement. Also I would say the chair and sofa arms need a good clean. Generally though the clean was perfect and of good quality. It’s just every now and again these things need a deep clean. Some previous client’s had not washed the cooking pans so we had to give them a clean before we could use them.

The accommodation was perfect, plenty of space for our family and dogs.

We all had really comfortable beds. The staff were very helpful and the pool was a great bonus. You are surrounded by fields and beautiful views so there’s plenty of local walks. I would highly recommend this place.

The bar should be re-opened again even without the need for staff.

Coffee, tea, beers, wine and shorts in cans or bottles can be supplied in vending machines so that the comfortable surroundings of the stable bar/coffee house can still be enjoyed as I have done here for many years in the past.

Nice accommodation but maintenance need to check it thoroughly.

Dripping tap, vacuum cleaner head had missing wheel making vacuuming difficult, no washing up brush or scouring pad, just a cloth. Unable to clean frying pan etc properly. The basin taps in toilet were wrong way round. Hot water was on the right. It did have a sticker by it but children may not read this.

A peaceful location.

We really enjoyed our stay.

The cottage is furnished to a high standard, it was wonderfully peaceful and surrounded by beautiful countryside.

The accommodation was precisely as described and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the peaceful environment and comfortable home.

The place is very easy to get to and find … the bungalow very clean but is basic equipment in the kitchen.

Swimming pool was occupied a lot and was being used by swimming school in the late afternoon. Cafe and restaurant is not open all the time and when was supposed to be open was closed for sick staff so can’t comment too much on the facility as we didn’t get to use it however the kids play area, courts and walking area was nice. Didn’t enjoy t walk to and from the car as you can’t park next to the property. But over all I would stay again for a cheap holiday away.

Great little place to stay.

A very nice site, with tennis court, pool and area to play football. It's also very well located - easy to get to South Devon's beaches, up onto Dartmoor and into Exeter.

Very quiet and relaxing place beautiful surroundings and good for touring the local resorts and towns

Toilet a bit of a squeeze needs relocating to the room with central heating boiler if this we're stopped over it would be perfect

Lovely bungalow in a beautiful location.

The only thing we missed ( very small but important) was salt and pepper! A few sachets or mills would have been appreciated.

Only fault was in the kitchen!

No casserole dishes to cook with, nor a very well equipped kitchen for a party of 6 and there was only 4 of us! We really struggled with not having enough large bowels ( only one) for keeping leftover food. The casserole dish is a must have! We stayed In the exact sane bungalow the year before and it catered well.. other than that it was a wonderful stay as always.

Thoroughly enjoyed the week in the bungalow it’s the second time all was good , except a maintenance man just turned up and explained he was changing the Electric box , so therefore the Electric would be off for a couple of hours , just as we started to cooking breakfast , he did say he would wait until we had finished cooking which made us feel rushed , this could have been sorted better if we had known he was attending that day , also the property was left open after he had finished .

Otherwise as before we have no problem with the property and the surrounding ding area , lots of great walks and amenities, we will be back all 6 of us . Thanks again …

Have stayed in the bungalows 4 or 5 times now and it is obvious a lot of work has been carried out to improve and update the properties in the past few years.

The results are amazing and we would give a 5 star rating for sure! Many thanks.

Very basic.

No extra pots and pans. No games or books if you take children. No leaflets of what you can do in the area. No instructions for anything. No visitors book. The water came in through the ceiling which had obviously been leaking for a while as there were wet patches on ceiling. The windows whistled in the wind. Saying that the property was very clean and comfortable as there were just two of us but would not want to go with a family.

Toilet very small and not painted pipe work around sink area,lack of finishing touches ie parasol for garden furniture,

The property was nice and clean, my only little gripe would be the large leak in the roof by the dining table that was dripping all the time we were there

Very pleased with the facilities offered.

A cork screw would have helped. Otherwise, would book again.

An extremely quiet and relaxing holiday.

Well maintained gardens and quiet walks round the lakes. Recommended.

The property is excellent, clean, comfortable and in a wonderful location.

The reception staff on site are very friendly and helpful. The only downside which I have seen in other reviews is the toilet is so small that even children have difficulty in getting in and out. For health and safety reasons this needs to be looked at urgently !!! If anyone suffered any kind of emergency, no one would be able to get in through the door without using an electric saw. A simple solution would be to reverse the door hinges and wooden stays so that the door opened outwards.

We have stayed here a few times when it was run by The Firefighters Charity and was a lot cheaper.

There was a few things that could be improved. There was no bins in either the toilet or the bathroom. No lamps in the living room or two of the bedrooms. There was no information packs in the property. Also the grass outside the property was overgrown. If these things were improved we would likely stay here again.

Fantastic location and facilities with very friendly staff.

The added bonus of supporting an extremely worthwhile charity. Highly recommended.

Lakes and grounds need attention simply vegetation cut back

Bathroom facilities not really suitable for 6 people.

Fortunately we were usually just 3 or 4 of us. As staying two weeks fresh towels/bedding would have been nice. The location is fabulous and the staff on reception extremely friendly and welcoming.

We liked the view across the field as we had a young child with us who liked watching the tractors working.

The bungalow was very comfortable but the toilet was so small that even I at 5f2inches and slight had a job getting in and out of the toilet.

The door opens inwards so you have to squeeze between the toilet and basin to get in and open the door to its widest point to squeeze out. Anyone overweight and tall would not be able to use these facilities. The storage room next door was twice this size at least so would have been much more suitable. Toilet roll holder and towel roll holder were also broken.also a few more kitchen utensils and another frying pan would have been much appreciated.
