Description
Wisteria Cottage is a light, bright and comfortable property in the grounds of the owners’ home, between Lympstone and Exmouth, an excellent base for a wide range of holiday adventures.
The ground floor is open plan, with a kitchen, dining table, and comfortable sitting area.
Sliding doors lead out to a decked patio area with table and chairs - ideal for morning coffee.
On the first floor, reached by fairly steep stairs, there is a bedroom with double bed, and an en-suite shower room with toilet and hand-wash basin.
Views of the Exe estuary and beyond can be seen from the upstairs window.
Outside there is a bicycle rack, attached to the cottage wall, where cycles may be stored overnight.
Wisteria Cottage is accessed via a shared gravel drive and has parking for 2 cars.
There are bus stops 100 yards from the property for frequent buses into Exmouth (a 5-minute ride) and to Exeter (a 30-minute ride).
For cyclists and walkers the South West Coast Path and the National Cycle Network Route 2 are only a few minutes away.
The Exe Trail is an easy walk/ride via Topsham towards Exeter city.
Bird watchers, and those interested in nature, will find the Exe Estuary Nature Reserve nearby and a trip to Dawlish Warren on the other side of the Estuary is highly recommended.
Within 20 minutes’ walk there are two National Trust properties, Halsdon Farm and the unusual ‘A la Ronde’ house.
For eating out there is a selection of pubs and restaurants in Exmouth as well as Lympstone and Topsham.
The River Exe Café involves a boat trip to the middle of the estuary and is very popular!

Parking on site is a great bonus, compared to other holiday lets in Exmouth. Jacqueline and Colin were very helpful holiday hosts. Wisteria Cottage is in a great location for exploring the area, either by foot or by car. The shady patio area is essential for when the weather gets hot.

We had a few excellent days in Wisteria Cottage.
It was the ideal place for the two of us, comfortable, well equipped and spotlessly clean. We found access to the town and other places we visited, easy. It was easy walking for us, but also right on the main bus route. Jackie and Colin were welcoming hosts and we will be returning!

We had a great holiday at Wisteria Cottage.
Good location, easy parking and all the facilities required. Would book again.
On the whole a very nice property and lovely people.
Down side was a couple of things.The sofa was very difficult to get off from and there were no cleaning products for the kitchen area eg bleach kitchen sprays just to keep on top of cleaning the kitchen. Other than these small things wisteria cottage was very nice and would stay again.

The property was clean, comfortable and well furnished, the owners were friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome.
The welcome pack they provided was much appreciated. As the property listing makes clear, the stairs leading to the first floor are quite steep, so that this property is really only suitable for able-bodied guests.

A good location for access to Exmouth the South West Coast Path and public transport.
A compact well equipped and cosy retreat. Off road private parking ideal for arrival, departure and loading our golf clubs into the car. The information folder is easy to follow and very comprehensive. It is a credit to the owners and we have not had a better one anywhere else.

This is a great one bedroom cottage built in the owners' grounds.

The property was beautifully presented, maintained and spotlessly clean.
Although the property is on a main road, we were out all day, and it was quiet at night. Very convenient location for exploring East Devon by bus and for walking.

The cottage was very comfortable and had all we needed for our stay. Our hosts, who live next door were very welcoming. Situated just outside Exmouth it was well placed for the coastal walking we were doing. We had a fantastic week!

Cottage equipped to a high standard, very clean and well kept, well organised with good information.
Ideal location for walking with the Exe estuary 5 minutes away and lovely walks into Exmouth. Close to bus routes into Exeter and Exmouth. Secure parking for a car. Owners very welcoming and helpful. Ideal for active couple, would not suit anyone with mobility issues as stairs to bedroom could be a challenge.

Another lovely stay at the Wisteria, our fourth time here.
Sadly the weather changed one or two of our plans but we still had a lovely week in Exmouth. This cottage is located on the Exeter Road, very close to bus stops into Exmouth and Exeter and both a Co—op and a petrol station. It’s a lovely cozy hideaway for two people and with everything you could need for a comfortable stay. Thank you and hope to see you again next year!

It had everything we needed for a very pleasant stay. Clean, comfortable, quiet.The cottage is on a very frequent bus route between Exeter and Exmouth with villages to visit on route. The bus connections at both termimus were also useful. In all a very good cottage.

! The location was ideal - close to bus stops, train station, The Exe Trail & East Devon Way. The property was very clean & the thoughtful Welcome Pack was a greatly appreciated bonus. Wisteria Cottage is in a great location on the main road into Exmouth a very short walk to the bus stop to either Exmouth or Exeter (or the lovely villages in between) close to the Exe Trail and the National Trust site A La Ronde.
The cottage is very comfortable and well equipped and our hosts were very friendly and helpful; we appreciated the wine, biscuits and milk.... and the assistance with the door when we bothered them at 9pm on a Friday night!! We would definitely recommend staying here as we loved both the cottage and the area.

We had a very good time at Wisteria Cottage as we have in previous visits but the cottage could do with a Standard Lamp as the lighting is very bright and a lamp would solve this.

Our accommodation was very good and the owners were very friendly and helpful the information in the cottage was excellent only snag was it's on a main road where traffic was noisy during the day but good in the evening.
We spent lots of time during the day away from the cottage as lots to do locally. Again the owners were brilliant

Jaqueline and Colin are always very friendly and welcoming, but leave us to get on with our holiday.
This was our 3rd time at Wisteria and can’t wait to visit again. The cottage is very comfortable and clean and has everything you need. There is a small private patio to the front, ideal for breakfast in the sun. It is ideally situated if you prefer to travel by public transport. There is a bus stop a few yards away, and Exmouth train station is within walking distance. We always have a brilliant holiday X

We were made to feel very welcome when we arrived.

A good position for getting around the area. Bus stop very close to both Exeter and Exmouth. Liked the easy access to estuary footpaths. Several pubs with good food nearby. We found everything we needed in the cottage. A comfortable stay.

The cottage was a real home from home.
Very clean and well equipped. A lovely welcome pack in arrival including biscuits and a bottle of wine! The hosts were very friendly and were on hand to answer any questions. Highly recommended.
Where we stayed the drive backed on to an extremely busy road so caution is needed while driving your car out of the drive.
Stairs to the first floor bedroom and toilet is rather steep so elderly or unfit couples might struggle climbing stairs.
Think a fridge freezer would be a big asset when you are self catering

The accommodation was ideal for a couple, the owners were very friendly, the location was perfect, 10 minutes walk into Exmouth, and exe trail was 5 minutes walk away.
The only slight negatives was a small screen tv and lack of a freezer, also you are close to the main road , so there is road noise. That said we had a great stay , and would stay again ...

Wisteria Cottage was a delightful holiday cottage .
The owners who live next door had a warm welcome for us on our arrival and kindly greeted us with biscuits, milk, flowers and a bottle of wine, all greatly appreciated. Although the cottage was rather noisy as it is situated on the main Exeter to Exmouth Road its location was excellent for accessing Exmouth and the Exe estuary, Exeter, Seaton, Sidmouth and Budleigh Salterton. We would certainly be happy to recommend the accommodation and hope to return there in the future.

The turning onto the main road was tricky . Otherwise we had a lovely time.

There was nothing to say it was on a very busy road, we thought it was in lympston, traffic none stop day and night.
Only just adequate for two.
Hot water temp no higher than 50 so water lukewarm even for showers. No freezer in fridge. No games or things to do in rain. Not a typical holiday cottage, clean yes.

Unfortunately the fridge does not contain a freezer compartment , but there are some books left in the property for a rainy day. Having run 3 holiday cottages ourselves for 20 years we thought that our hosts had got it right with the meet and greet (especially the flowers from the garden & the wine).
The facilities were good but let down by the fridge. We always provided either a fridge freezer or fridge with a good sized freezer box, the self defrosting types, now widely available, means you do not have problems between changeovers. The bed was particularly comfortable. A very good cottage that we definitely use again when visiting our family in Exeter.
Cosy well equipped cottage.
Ideal for exploring moors & coastline. #57 bus runs past the door every 15 minutes taking you to Exmouth, Topsham & Exeter city centre. Exe Trail cycle path very nearby. Well worth a visit is NT property 'A La Ronde' just 20 minutes walk away. Cottage is small but very comfortable,warm & has everything we needed. A real pleasure to return too after a long day tramping the coast path to Budleigh Salterton. The bottle of wine in the fridge & the milk & biscuits were a pleasant surprise too! A great winter break that passed all too quickly. Thanks.

A lovely little cottage in an excellent location, within easy reach of Exmouth seafront, the village of Lympstone and frequent buses to Topsham and Exeter.
We had such a nice stay that we booked to return before we left!
This was a very good cottage, whilst compact it met everything we want in a holiday.
Well fitted out with a welcome pack to start the holiday well. Close to town and beaches and short distance for visiting local area. A visit to the new IKEA only 25 minutes away was excellent. Walking on the beach in sunshine was great and only 10 minutes away. We were so lucky with the weather which kept us out in the sunshine every day. Bus stop is really close and convenient with plenty of busses all day if you don't want to drive everywhere. Only minor downside was traffic noise at rush hours.
Holiday cottage very good only down side stairs to bedroom very steep people whom are are older would struggle with stairs.
Owners delightful and central to various places about 10 minutes from beach and town centre if we were going to Devon would use again
