1 Arlington Villas

The apartment was extremely clean, spacious and well-equipped, close to shops, pubs, restaurants and other facilities and attractions, including the theatre and cinema.

The terrace and the main room at the front had a lovely view of the sea and the headland, and we enjoyed relaxing on the terrace, sipping our wine and watching the sun go down. In fact, the apartment was perfect and we can't think of any suggestions for improvement!

A fabulous apartment !

So comfortable and in a great location. There are some steep hills, but that's all part of Ilfracombe's charm. It's the best apartment we've stayed in so far and we will definitely be booking again. Thank you.

A superb apartment, very clean and well presented.

Ideal location as a base with parking to explore the North Devon Coast.

The apartment is stunning with a definite wow factor.

Comfortable with all the necessary amenities. Brilliant location with wonderful views. We also experienced some stunning sunsets from apartment. This is not a criticism but just a suggestion - to replace the shower head in bathroom with one with a more angled handle as this would make it easier to have a shower ‘hands free’. Would highly recommend this apartment when staying in Ilfracombe.

this property was amazing,so clean and modern everything was high quality,so central and lovely views would highly recommend this place

Beautiful apartment well equipped and fitted out with quality furnishings and comfort not forgetting the wonderful view from the living areas

Wow, this is the best apartment we have ever stayed in.

I can't find even one very minor thing to find fault with. The specifications were all too quality, notably the beautiful kitchen. The sofas were very comfortable and we loved looking on them as we watched the included Sky tv and Sky sports on the large television. The location was superb in the centre of the town and a 2 minute walk from the sea front, with fantastic sea views from the lounge windows. Easy to operate and warm central heating. With of course two secure car parking spaces. Brilliant.

This is a really comfortable and well-kept apartment.

It was a pleasure to return to at the end of a long day exploring the coastal walks in the area. It’s a 3 minute walk to the nearest eateries and a 10 minute stroll to the picturesque harbour area with its shops, cafes etc. The bus stop for Barnstaple and Woolacombe is also within 5 minutes walk. I’d recommend this apartment to anyone. If I had to be picky, I’d say the second bedroom needs some hanging space.

Nice clean and spacious easy to shop and amenities will go back

A wonderful apartment .

Very high standard of cleanliness and well equipped with everything we needed . Marvelous views across the bay . Definitely go there again .

Great apartment perfect stay, parking and location Great.

Fitted new battery in the large clock in lounge, really wanted time to stand still, as we enjoyed the place so much...thank you...

1 Arlington Villas is absolutely stunning with everything you could need for a perfect break in Ilfracombe.

Once in the Car Park, there is level access into the property via the Patio but be advised the walk down to the Harbour or up into Town is very steep! The Car Parks in Ilfracombe are very reasonable so if you aren't up for the walk, then there are plenty places to Park. This is our 3rd stay in the Apartment and we love it.

Wow!

This apartment is fantastic! Spotlessly clean, modern, well maintained and equipped. Allocated parking a bonus. We loved the location which overlooks Capstone Hill and Wildersmouth beach. Perfect for hours of people and bird watching. Short walk to the harbour, shops and restaurants. Made an excellent base for exploring the area with beautiful walks and beaches close by.

Great apartment, well looked after and had everything you need for a stay away from home.

Amazing view of Capstone Hill and the sea when sitting in the bay window. Central location - a short walk to the harbour, and the bus stop to Woolacombe at the end of the road. Appreciated parking at the apartment, and the welcome pack on arrival. Would definitely recommend.

What a fabulous apartment!

Usually we opt for a cottage in the middle of nowhere but decided for a change to book a town centre apartment, and we are so glad we went for this one. The location is perfect - just a short walk to the beach, the harbour, restaurants and shops. The view from the living and dining room is beautiful, and we so enjoyed watching the sunsets. Inside, everything is very modern, high spec and immaculately clean, whilst also feeling comfortable and homely. The kitchen was so well-equipped, the showers excellent and the beds really comfortable. The welcome gift of wine, cookies and milk was a lovely touch. We had cause to contact the owner once and they responded immediately and were really helpful. We would highly recommend this apartment. Thank you for a lovely stay!

This accommodation was by far one of the best we, as a group of friends, have stayed in.

Upon arrival the apartment was warm and cosy with a bottle of Red Wine and chocolate biscuits and Alexa playing our favourite music to greet us, this special attention to detail was most appreciated. Others may take note. Access was simple, driving through Illfracombe to a barrier accessing the private parking. The apartment itself certainly had the WOW factor. It was spotlessly clean with everything you need for an exceptional stay. It is quite hilly but taking your time you should be ok especially as there is a Wetherspoons only a couple of hundred yards around the corner. The view of the ocean was spectacular and my wife and I spent most of our time sat in the magnificent armchairs in one of the Bay windows. Would I return? In a heartbeat, and we're working on a return.. 1st class accommodation would recommend it.

A great location.

Apartment was modern clean and very comfortable. Great views of the sea and hill. Very close to town and Harbour. Will definitely come back.

Very clean and comfortable accommodation.

Absolutely stunning view. Description of this property was 100% accurate. Would recommend staying here. Beware though that property is on an incline, as is most of Ilfracombe.

We had a lovely stay.

There were just a few mostly minor things that could make the property more luxe to match its price tag. There was an issue getting into the property on time which the owner has apologised for and since rectified I believe. I felt the welcome gift was a little underwhelming; just a pint of milk and a pack of digestives. I saw in previous reviews people had mentioned a bottle of wine. There were no bath mats which I think is just a basic, rather than luxury item, so we had to use towels to save dripping over the floors. In previous reviews people had mentioned fluffy robes but we didn’t have these. There were no dishwasher tablets. Normally properties provide two or three at least to get you started. The en-suite shower had quite a lot of mould on the grout which could be shifted with some mould spray. The plug in the en-suite sink didn’t compress. It’s a lovely, comfortable apartment, very spacious and with stunning views. No noise from neighbours. Great location for walking to harbour and for exploring local area. Beds were very comfortable. It was a fantastic holiday.

Our 2nd stay at this fabulous apartment and won’t be our last as we have booked again for next year.

Top class everything including the location. The only thing I would possibly change is the mattresses on the single beds. I think they are more for children than adults. Everything else…perfect

We stayed for a week and I couldn’t ask for a more comfy stay, everything in the apartment was of very high standard and so comfortable, the views from the apartment are amazing and lots of amenities in a short walk.

I would highly recommend people staying here.

Lovely apartment with great views of Ilfracombe and the sea.

Very comfortable and had everything we needed for what was our second stay at this wonderful apartment. It’s centrally located and easy to walk to the shops, restaurants, pubs, harbour and the promenade. Highly recommended.

Excellent property.

Well equipped and very comfortable. Bonus of 2 parking spaces. The view is incredible over the sea and Capstone Hill. Location is great with restaurants and pubs just minutes walk away. Highly recommend

The property was spotlessly clean, comfortable and well set up.

The weather was also very kind to us and we had a very good week. It is also very useful to have the car park on the same level, as not all the apartments do and the apartment is half way up a very steep hill. The property description doesn't mention that Satellite and Netflix is available which is a nice incentive but the Satellite did drop out for 4 days while we were there.

This was our second time staying at this apartment and it was every bit as good as our previous stay.

Immaculately clean and well equipped. In a good location, close to all the town has to offer. The property is on a very steep hill so would possibly not be suitable for anyone with mobility issues.

Great location and apartment of a very high spec.

However, it does not state anywhere that we could find about no wardrobe in the twin room which was an inconvenience. I appreciate there were coat hooks in the hallway but no hangers provided. Good job we had taken some. You may wish to put also hairdryer provided. I had contacted prior to arrival and was told if it didn't say in amenities then assume there wasn't one. Upon arrival we found a hairdryer so I really needn't have taken mine. One toilet roll per room for a week does seem a bit tight. And also we had to wait for about twenty minutes on arrival as 3 numbers given to us were not answered to obtain the key codes. Ended up calling Sykes themselves who kindly called me back with the codes. All in all great holiday, but I feel you should mention in your listing about only 1 wardrobe and hairdryer provided

We stayed at 1 Arlington villas from Monday 18 Sept 2023 till 21 Sept 2023 we were supposed to stay till the 22 nd Sept but we came home early because the weather was awful but the apartment was fabulous the best accommodation we have used to date we shall definitely use this apartment again but earlier in the year in future Yours Sincerely Mr & Mrs Adams

We had a wonderful stay.

The apartment was really high spec and had all the amenities we needed and more. Lovely views and so close to the town and restaurants. Also my husband was very happy that there was Sky Sports on the TV!

Really enjoyed our week here, the accommodation was clean comfortable and was in an ideal location which was great, the apartment had everything we needed and would definitely recommend this apartment.

The apartment is very modern, and most of the facilities are excellent.

It is well situated in Ilfracombe, being central with views over Capstone Hill. However, there were some matters that need attention, and our comments are as follows: 1. We could not get Alexa to work at all 2. The bottom oven is not working (the cleaning company did notify us about this but I suppose it should be repaired?) 3. In the double bedroom, one of the bedside table lights was not working, and it was not a broken bulb! 4. We were surprised that there was only one roll of toilet paper in each toilet, and that there was no washing up liquid supplied. In a property of this cost, this seems to be penny pinching? 5.The Nescafe Coffee machine had no instructions that we could find. There were some instructions for a completely different model, and they weren't in English anyway! 6. We were grateful for the Welcome Pack of a bottle of red wine, small bottle of milk and a pack of biscuits. 7. The directions to the apartment were good, but there were no instructions on how to enter the parking area. Finding out where the keypad was to the barrier caused us a delay as we searched for it!

Wow, wow, wow!

This apartment is simply stunning and had everything we could have needed and more. Amazing location, close to restaurants and the harbour (but there is a very steep hill to walk back up so not great if you are not reasonably fit). Spotlessly clean, contemporary, well equipped. Direct access to the upper car park from the balcony of this apartment which was very useful. Much appreciated Welcome pack and fluffy gowns provided. We’ve already booked for next year!

Lovely apartment in ideal position.

Everything you need for a relaxing stay.

We were blown away by the high standard of the property!

There is everything you need for a relaxing stay. From beautiful fixtures and fittings, to little extras like wine, tea, coffee biscuits and even fluffy gowns. Everything has been thought of. A real comfortable home from home. Being able to park right outside is a plus too. It is on a very steep hill, but sitting in the bay window watching the world go by, makes it worth while. We would thoroughly recommend this property and will almost certainly return

Amazing apartment, lovely view.

Contemporary, spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable in an ideal position within the town. It’s quiet but only metres from the seafront, Main Street and pubs. The apartment has so much space and has a very ‘high end’ feel with sleek modern appliances/furniture. Would definitely book again.

A fantastic location, everything was perfect, a very enjoyable week, made by the luxury of our holiday home!

This is a beautiful apartment perfectly positioned.

It was very clean with well maintained furniture. And some nice touches - and a welcome pack with tea, coffee, biscuits and wine as well as tea towels, dish cloth and oven gloves. Only small niggle - it’s a bit short on cutlery! fHowever a delight and we will be back

We had a very comfortable stay and everything we needed was available to us.

I would however mention the hill to climb if walking from the front. Both our husbands have problems and found it difficult. But does not distract from the property. The view from the armchair is amazing.

This apartment was probably the nicest that I have stayed in.

So clean, modern and well looked after. It was also the extras - access to the Netflix account, the binoculars, the welcome pack, all great things to find in a rental and really appreciated.

An excellent property, it was a pleasure to stay in it.

A superb property!

Spotlessly clean with every attention to detail. Communication was excellent, the reminders etc. were very welcome and I took the suggested items like oven gloves, dishwasher tablets etc.but they were not needed as everything was provided at the property. The beds were very comfortable and the bedding and towels very clean. Everything was of a high quality and the fluffy white dressing gowns were much appreciated. The situation of the property was ideal for the sea, the theatre, shops etc. but unfortunately Ilfracombe had not really opened for the 2022 season and many shops and facilities were still closed. I would highly recommend this property for its spaciousness and high quality fixtures and fittings. Due to storm Eunice and the expected disruption, we left the property early but the owner contacted me to say that we did not need to hurry off as their visit had been postponed until after the storm. Communication with the cleaning company was excellent and as soon as we arrived we were sent the car park barrier code and the necessary codes to enter the property. An excellent property.

Arlington Villa was exceptional and occupies a great position overlooking the Bay.

It was really good to sit in the comfy chairs in the Bay window enjoying the view. Two really good bedrooms, very comfy beds. Living space ideal for 4 people. Well equipped kitchen - I will say it did take us a couple of tries to get the hang of the oven and hob - even with instructions - but it all worked out well. The only problem we had was when we arrived there was no hot water or heating. We got in touch with the agent who called us back later and told us there had been a problem with the boiler. They were waiting for a part but there was a quick fix which we were able to carry out and from them on we had heating and hot water. Would definitely recommend Arlington Villa - very central and to top it all a fantastic firework display on New Years Eve. What more could you ask for.

We loved the apartment which was maintained to the highest specifications and was very comfortable.

Yes there was an issue with no hot water one day, due to water pressure dropping in the boiler. Coombe Cleaning Co came to help but it self resolved. Same problem the next day and I turned the pressure back up (I have same boiler at home). The cause may be building work next door. This did not detract from the stay. Great accommodation and a perfect location.

Fantastic property, location is great right on the seafront.

The apartment is amazing.

Great great location with amazing views. Two secure large parking space are perfect. The balcony is large and well furnished. The seats in the window great for people watching. The kitchen is well equipped. Added luxuries like dressing gowns for all and Alexa are a nice touch. The utility room was great for storage and for washing our gear as the 4 adults were there for an outdoor activity based holiday . There are no negatives at all and I’m seriously picky!

We stayed as a family of 4 and really enjoyed the apartment.

Very modern, spacious and perfectly located. Would highly recommend.

We had a wonderful week .

Location was great and the sea views excellent.

We were lucky that the fine weather allowed us to witness great sunsets. Plenty to do but do book in advance where you can. Easy enough to get lunch out but evening meals in the best places are booked up months in advance so heed the advice about booking early. Apartment was very good, modern and clean and has two parking spaces. Felt overall it was very good though pricey. Only thing that marred our holiday was we needed a delivery and as we were out it was delivered to the patio but we never received it so was most likely taken from the patio whilst we were out. Can’t blame the accommodation providers for that though but a lesson learned.

the location and the views were wonderful

Could do with two wardrobes, TV reception not very good kept losing reception.

Should indicate hilly location.

Superb organisation and liaison.

We were delighted with our stay and could so easily have remained for another week. So pleasant to be entrusted with such quality facilities. This set a new bench mark. Thank you to all

Very clean, modern, spacious, comfortable apartment.

Lovely bathrooms and bedrooms, beautiful kitchen, lovely sea views from both bay windows, same view from spacious ground floor balcony/terrace plus 2 parking spaces.

Accommodation was simply lovely.

We had such a comfortable stay and loved everything about the apartment.

The apartment was lovely with great views and central location, it was very usefully having parking.

Had a lovely weekend would definitely recommend.

The apartment was faultless in terms of facilities and cleanliness but also the view, decor and the paintings in each room.

We liked the paintings so much we bought one from The Big Apple just up the road. Angela was very pleasant and rushed round when we managed to lock ourselves out!

Beautiful apartment spotlessly clean.

Facilities excellent. If 5 stars is the highest mark I would give it a 5. Overlooking sea views too which was just lovely.

Excellent location and sea view.

Extremely clean with modern facilities. Sound Bar was beyond our technical ability but Alexa worked well. Having two dedicated parking places just outside the front door was also most welcome. Fully recommended.

A lovely apartment, nicely furnished in a good location with a lovely view which unfortunately was let down by the lack of cleanliness.

Unclean kitchen table and floor, dirty dishes in the cupboard, dirty drawers in the bedroom and evidence of the previous user in the toilet

Thoroughly enjoyed staying at 1 Arlington Villas, very clean modern and enjoyed the view.

I would recommend this as a great place to stay

A modern well equipped property in a great location.

However the weather was not that good (1 sunny day) mist and rain on most and with corona virus restrictions beginning we did not travel far. There were great views from the property. This together with a few bottles of wine made it an enjoyable stay. It is extremely comfortable with a great bed,

Beautiful modern apartment, really spacious with everything you could need.

On arrival, a small bottle of milk was in the fridge, there was tea bags, coffee & sugar sachets, a bottle of red wine & a packet of biscuits ... wonderful! The view from the apartment is fantastic. Shops, pubs & the harbour are all really close, would highly recommend staying here.
