“We had a great week at SeaSound and were blessed with fabulous weather.”

The apartment living space was fine for two adults and two grown up young adults .The views are what makes this flat amazing. The apartment living space was fine for two adults and two grown up young adults .The views are what makes this flat amazing. The delights of the sea, the tide, the boats and wildlife can all be appreciated from full length windows. Binoculars were provided ! Facing north it was cool haven to return to after an hot day exploring! Although it’s worth noting that there are only chairs for two on the balcony ….. so we took it turns and of course Capstone hill has plenty of benches to retire to with a cuppa tea or beer! The main bedroom and ensuite are great . Comfy beds and excellent shower. The second bedroom is smaller than we imagined and for two grown up adults was a bit of a squeeze - two small children would be absolutely fine in there! Main bathroom also wonderful and showers excellent. The flat is located on a steep hill and there are two flights of stairs which certainly keep you fit ! Parking wise we used the voucher that Jason recommended which enabled us to park in the Cove car park and we also used it when we visited Lynmouth and Lynton. Absolutely no issues finding somewhere to park. We did see plenty people with parking tickets so don’t take any chances and make sure you know the car parks that the voucher covers if you go down that route. We caught the bus to woolacombe which was an epic journey back via Mortehoe and very tiny roads! Much better than negotiating them yourself! Also went to Watermouth on the bus and walked back along the coastal path. We ate lots of fish and chips, visited nice cafes , did a couple boat trips and a rib ride - and the sandpiper inn at the bottom of the hill near the flat was a welcome friendly place to grab a beer! All in all we loved the quayside area, the town itself is a bit tired and the high street has its fair share of boarded up shops (sign of the times sadly!) but we found Illfracombe to be friendly and welcoming , and a great spot to swim is where the locals go at the lime kiln cafe at high tide!
