The property

Positioned amidst fields and woodland just a few miles from the dramatic North Devon coastline and the glorious flat sands of Westward Ho!, the working farm of Winscott Barton offers visitors the opportunity to experience life on a real working farm and an opportunity to experience rural life at its best.

You can be in the thick of things at lambing time or relaxing by one of the lakes, casting a line or simply contemplating the local wildlife, where at night time under a canopy of stars unblemished by city lights, an array of nocturnal creatures including owls, foxes and badgers can be watched as they emerge under the security of darkness.

Just three miles from the nearest beach, this glorious stretch of coastline boasts long stretches of beautiful sands and small rocky coves to keep children amused for hours.

Nearby The Milkyway is a great day out for all the family and The Atlantic Village set in four acres is practically on the doorstep with a supermarket, a whole host of stores offering massive savings, and an imaginative mix of leisure attractions to keep all ages entertained.

On the farm for those who wish to try their hand at Clay Pigeon Shooting all the equipment is provided and clays can be purchased at just 40p per shot.

Those who prefer a more peaceful past time coarse fishing is available for adults and children just a few minutes walk from the cottage and it's the perfect way to keep the whole family amused whilst they enjoy the great outdoors.

There is a play area with picnic benches, shared with the two other holiday cottages on the farm, and offers children and adults the chance for some outdoor fun and relaxation, although don't be surprised if you are accompanied by lambs and sheep who stand in as organic lawnmowers.

The cottage is part of a ground floor wing of the original farmhouse and offers modest, comfortable accommodation overlooking the farmyard and lakes.

A comfortable lounge has a wood burning stove to cosy up in front of and a spacious open plan kitchen/diner is well equipped with all the necessary modern appliances to ensure a stress free holiday.

Two spacious bedrooms offer versatile sleeping arrangements there is also a small walled garden for guests to relax with fishpond and waterfall (care must be taken with young children).
