Very warm and friendly host.

Anna was on hand if required very peaceful place in lovely part of the country

Although the weather was very hot, we really enjoyed our stay at the Nuthatch, Anna the owner of the place was very helpful, on our arrival she had left ,milk, eggs, and chocolate brownies, the eggs were the best tasting ones,I’ve eaten in years.

the accommodation was very comfortable, and if the weather did turn nasty, there is plenty to do, books, games even jigsaws if you had the time.

This is a beautiful, comfortable, well equipped property, with everything you need.

It is ideally positioned for visiting lots of different places, including Dorset and Somerset. We had an absolutely fabulous time and will definitely return.

We had a lovely week at Nuthatch Cottage ,Anna welcomed us on our arrival and showed us how hotub worked e t ,Cottage was very comfy and had everything we needed.

We thoroughly enjoyed this break away, Anne was lovely and welcoming.

We were welcomed with homemade scones, local eggs and a bottle of wine. The hot tub was spotless and clearly well maintained. The Nuthatch is a lovely place to unwind, inside we enjoyed the great selection of board games for cosy evenings. The location is quiet, peaceful and beautifully isolated with a lovely local walk which offers great scenery. We would highly recommend!

Only minor issue in that there is limited space for hanging clothes (only on hooks behind bedroom door). Although it states no electric car charging (not stated at time of booking), I have a PHEV which the owner allowed me to charge via 15Amp outside socket (did agree to pay towards it). This was very helpful

Just one hurdles that we managed.

The garden isn't secure for a dog but is noted and being worked on. We enjoyed a beautiful holiday at the Nuthatch and Anna (landlady) was so pleasant and helpful couldn't have asked for anyone better. Big thanks for everything we will defo be coming back x

Loverly week at Nuthatch.

Fabulous welcome with scones, jam and clotted cream, wine and eggs from Anna’s hens. Set in a very quiet part of the Blackdown HillS AONB; perfect for walks and seeing the local flora and fauna. A great base for visiting local towns like Seaton, Beer, Sidmouth, Exmouth etc. Perfect for us two and our small dog. Anna is a great host and was happy to share her local knowledge of the area. We would definitely stay again.

A wonderful, remote location.

Lots of dark sky to be able to sit in the hot tub & gaze at the stars with candles flickering nearby. Everything you need for a get away from it all. Small but not cramped, everything needed if you want to cook also a BBQ & freezer available to use. Books & games galore if you want & the hot tub is well maintained & lovely to relax in. Anna is a wonderful hostess, there if you need her but not obtrusive. The best bit was the welcome pack - fresh garden flowers in a vase, pint of milk, bottle of wine, coffee, tea, sugar, eggs from Anna's hens & the best bit - fresh, handmade by Anna, brownies

Lovely idilic cottage in the middle of the forest area.

Really quiet, very relaxing. Hot tub amazing! Anna (Owner) so lovely & helpful. Had a great time, we will be back again. Thankyou Greg & Samantha xx

Anna and her granddaughter were fantastic!

We had fresh lemon cake baked by Anna, waiting for us on the table and a handful of free range eggs from her Hens! The cottage was spotless and bed was very comfortable! We had a slight issue with the hot tub but Anna was straight round and showed us how to properly work it. We will definitely be booking again to head down :)

Absolutely incredible stay at Nuthatch, from the moment we walked in to fresh scones and dog treats!

Would highly recommend this little place to anyone!

Holiday was okay could do with some more privacy because of the gate between the two properties kept £60 for the hot tub for one week then charged us £30 for cleaning the hot tub out.

She said it was dirty. There was only chemicals in there for a couple of days Never came to put chemicals in the hot tub. The hot tub was over a big massive tree so all the bits was dropping in the hot tub as well was not happy with it won’t be going back

Anna was very helpful, provided a lovely welcome pack, especially the chocolate brownies and we had everything we needed. Lovely countryside and coast nearby and gorgeous weather.

Where we were is beautiful area and a good area for visiting the old houses etc. Only problem is finding nuthatch and the narrow bad roads. Other than that had a great week

Anna is an excellent host and could not have been more welcoming.

The gift of freshly baked scones, clotted cream and jam waiting for us was a delight. This is one of the best cottages I have ever rented. The addition of the available hot tub added even more . The bed was super comfortable and all the little touches from a kitchen apron to milk and ground coffee left by Anna made our stay just perfect. We were very sad to leave . I would definitely stay again any time

A wonderful stay at Nuthatch!

Upon arrival, we were greeted with a freshly baked cake made by Anna which was a lovely treat! We couldn’t believe how quiet the surroundings were at night (could even hear the owls!) and loved star-gazing whilst sat in the hot tub! Everything we needed for a week’s stay was in the property and only 15 mins from Honiton for shops, pubs etc! The last couple of miles are via some very narrow, single track lanes - would definitely recommend doing a Google Street view before travelling as this really helped get an idea of whereabouts the property was and what to expect! Would thoroughly recommend!

Lovely little cottage.

Perfect base for us to explore. Nice cream tea waiting for us when we arrived and some treats for the dogs. Definitely go back

Had a fabulous holiday arrived to a lovely secure fenced cottage greeted with all essential for cuppa and surprised to find wine, lemon drizzle cake that was delicious and fresh eggs from the host!

Cottage had everything needed for a lovely stay! Hot tub was Devine! And my dog loved it! Cottage had absolutely everything and all good quality.vert peaceful and quiet tucked up out the way miles of rolling countryside a little gem would definitely return perhaps without my child to relax Anna was lovely and reasonable thought if everything! Locals were nice and accommodating beautiful area to explore!

Nuthatch is a perfect idylic retreat, with a private parking, patio and hot tub.

Set in stunning countryside, it is so peaceful. The cottage offers every comfort and facilities. We had a warm welcome from Anna, home baked brownies, wine and fresh flowers. A comfortable bolthole to return to, after visiting picturesque villages, beaches, towns and Exeter city.

Nice cottage in a very quiet location - comfortable.

The cottage is adjacent to the owners house. The owner was very welcoming and helpful. The approach was through very narrow lanes, but was acceptable. The warning in the details not to approach from Stockland was wise.

We had a lovely stay at Nuthatch.

The attention to detail by the host was second to none. We were left a lovely homemade cake and bottle of wine and all kitchen condiments, tea, coffee, cooking oil etc were available. The hot tub was great and rather large for 2 people so could easily relax and spread out. The mile drive down a single track was a bit bumpy and overgrown and we actually thought we were lost when we first drove down it but you do get used to it. Soft furnishings may be ready for a refurb but this didn't affect our very relaxing stay and would happily stay again.

We needed a break badly and staying in your cottage was the rest and peace we needed. The thoughtfulness you put into making the cottage a home from home is so welcoming and comforting. It’s a real peace haven. Thank you for the eggs, freshly baked goodies and stunning garden flowers, you’re the perfect host. I’ve recommended this cottage to all my friends and family.

Had a lovely stay, the cottage is very rural so very quiet & peaceful.

Getting to the cottage is not for the fainthearted, it's down a 1.5 mile long single track road. Once you do get to the end of the road though there are lots of beaches to visit & some beautiful villages with good pubs to eat out. I would definitely recommend it if you are looking for a peaceful break. Anna the host is lovely & very welcoming.

The welcome to the property was above and beyond with lots of nice little touches.

We were excited to try the eggs she had left for us from her chickens. She had also set us up with tea, coffee, sugar and a few other bits. She came and said hello on arrival the came back the following day with a baked cake for us, which taste amazing. She has also created a lovely welcome book with lots of information on the local area with recommendations. The bed was very comfortable and the shower room was great. We loved using the hot tub was a Nice treat. Was just Shame the music wasn’t working. Really pleased and looking to come back again in the future.

We loved our time at Nuthatch. The cottage is so cosy and comfortable . Anna is a wonderful host - other sykes cottages have been very nice but didn’t have personal touches. We were left delicious brownies , eggs from the hens next door, and used the comprehensive welcome book of information. We were very sad to leave !

A really pleasant stay and Anna was lovely with great hospitality on arrival (beautiful cakes) and a really peaceful place to stay.

The hot tub was very welcome after a long day of walking. Highly recommended the Nuthatch is every way. Will certainly return soon…

Excellent place to stay!

Well equipped and very comfortable. Very thoughtful to have minced pies and fresh eggs there there waiting for us. And the hot tub is awesome! Location is ideal for visiting Exeter, Lyme Regis and Sidmouth, which we did. All and all, a great little cottage to spend our anniversary in! Recommended!!!

Overall brilliant.

We had a beautiful stay at Nuthatch - the place is spacious and comfortable and there's a good level of privacy.

So many small touches that made our stay more enjoyable, a lot of thought has gone into kitting the place out with everything you might need. Anna was a lovely host and we'd definitely come back!

We felt so at home, such a cosy homely cottage in a wonderful setting. It was lovely to arrive to find fresh eggs from Anna's hens a bottle of wine and the most delicious chocolate brownies baked by our host . All the little touches such as soaps provided was so thoughtful, and the cottage was so well equipped. The location was perfect for our stay. We loved the peace and quiet of our surroundings and the hot tub was amazing especially after a days sight-seeing! We will definitely go back again !

Anna was an amazing host with lots of wonderful unexpected extras.

She really did go the extra mile to make our stay really enjoyable. It was our first trip away with our e-bikes using the car bike rack. Nuthatch cottage is a lovely place to stay!

Anna was a lovely host and welcomed us with beautiful baking. There was an amazing welcome book with all the info you could possibly need to stay in the area (restaurants, pubs, grocery, hospitals, if you needed anything it was in the book!). The setting is beautiful surrounded by the countryside and beautiful valley, footpaths every direction you looked. The hot tub was perfect as well! Would 100% return to this beautiful little cottage!
