Sykes were so helpful and worked really hard to find us somewhere to meet our requirements last minute and found us this beautiful cottage in otterton. Thank you to them and the owners for everything. The cottage was so cosy and brilliantly equipped and it such a great location. Thank you”

    Mrs Hirons, Frome, August 2018

    • “Enjoyed our stay at 11 The Green & what we payed for the 2 weeks was our limit so disappointed that there has been such a increase for 2019 which we presume will apply to most of your cottages”

    Mrs Burton, WETHERBY, June 2018

    • “This cottage is well equipped and well located in an attractive village. There is a community shop nearby and meals / snacks are available in the Mill and the Kings Arms Hotel. There is plenty of literature about walks in the surrounding area.”

    Ms Beaumont, 3015, June 2018

    • “Having stayed at holiday cottages for years we thought this really was one of the best. Rod the caretaker cannot do enough for you and is a really lovely man who made us most welcome on arrival. Lovely river walks from the house with lots of wildlife to see.”

Regional Information

OTTERTON Budleigh Salterton 3 miles; Sidmouth 3 miles. Set back from the coast among the rolling green countryside and wooded valleys of beautiful East Devon, this pretty village with its collection of traditionally thatched roofed cottages is straight from a picture postcard. Offering a quieter but no less beautiful holiday destination than the rest of the county it’s the perfect place to relax and unwind, and is just 3 miles from the Regency coastal resort towns of both Budleigh Salterton and Sidmouth, and one mile from the SW Coastal Path as it meanders above the waves towards the World Heritage Site ‘Jurassic Coast’ beaches with their abundant fossils. Ladram Bay with its red-stone sea stacks is just one mile away. Inland, footpaths follow the banks of the River Otter where fox, badger and birdlife play while just down the road from the village is Bicton Park and Botanical Gardens, 60 acres of garden lovers’ paradise. For a really interesting hour or two, visit the last working flour mill on the river Otter - it’s in the village and the flour is superb. There’s much to do and see in this beautiful and unspoilt area but if you want to explore further afield, the open spaces and high tors of Dartmoor can be reached in under an hour while the Cathedral city of Exeter with its superb shopping centre, cinemas, clubs and restaurants is a mere 10 miles.
