Absolutely adored this accomodation would like to keep it to ourselves.

Everything about the property and location were perfect icluding lots of little touches by Angela to make a stay memorable such as tea bags coffee milk and biscuits ready when you arrive. The hosts John and Angela were ;ovely people...........living the dream and were most helpful discussing days out and the area. The icing on the cake for me was to be able to see the couples rescued Sidmouth donkeys every morning. We will absolutely be back.

We have just returned home from a lovely week at Sherway Farm staying in the Shippen.

Angela and John work incredibly hard to run their holiday accommodation and their farm. The Shippen is beautiful, clean, well resourced and benefits from the most stunning views across the East Devon countryside. We would highly recommend a stay here if you need peace and quiet and you enjoy being surrounded by nature. Thank you A&J for sharing this very special 'bit of paradise'

A fantastic little gem hidden in the depths of the countryside, yet close enough to Exeter and the North Devon beaches of Sidmouth and Exmouth.

A home from home, a lovely little welcome pack on arrival. The property was spacious and clean. Everything you needed was there. Angela and John were very friendly hosts and were on hand if you needed anything. Have booked to come back in September. Did I mention the hot tub was great for an evening dip.

Cannot recommend this lovely cottage enough, spotlessly clean and meticulously maintained with great attention to detail making it a wonderful place to stay.

The hosts John and Angela were very approachable and kind enough to send us, without charge, a small item that we had left behind. We’ve rented quite a few cottages over the years and we found this cottage to have been of the highest standard so far.

Warm welcoming hosts and a stunning location.

Staying here was a lovely holiday, the accommodation was both clean and inviting. Our hosts were lovely and kind, always happy to chat and clearly loved the area. As someone with a deep love for Devon it’s lovely to see others caring for the beautiful countryside and nature as our hosts did.

This is a little gem.

The location is amazing. Very quiet, and beautiful views. The cottage is done out to perfection. Really well finished and comfortable. We wish we had their mattress in our house! The bedrooms have loads of extra space (perfect if you need to put a cot or kids' bed up), and the fact that there's an en suite in both bedrooms, as well as a toilet downstairs, is a massive bonus. It has everything you could need and was even better in real life than in the pictures. The hot tub was a great way to unwind, and set to the perfect temperature on arrival. The hosts are lovely. We had a few chats with them and they introduced us to their donkeys, as well as some of the newborn lambs. There's loads to do in the local area. We had a really fun-packed stay. Great for any type of group.

We had a fabulous second stay at Sherway Shippen, the owners are so friendly and happy to chat about the donkeys, sheep and local area.

The cottage was very comfortable and the owners have thought of every detail. Shower gel, shampoo and conditioner in each of the generous en-suite bathrooms. The kitchen is one of the best equipped we have ever had. The hot tub has amazing views and the owners provide bath robes which is a huge bonus. We had a lovely Easter welcome hamper. We will definitely return again as the location is perfect to visit so many places. A big thank you to Angela and John x

Excellent well maintained property ,spotless throughout.

Comfy living room, well fitted kitchen with everything you need provided. Upstairs both bedrooms had wonderful views comfy beds and lovely ensuites. Very pleasant and helpful owners. Welcome pack very appreciated. Thank you.

We've stayed in a lot of cottages over the years and this is one of the very best!

Very comfortable accommodation, fantastic en suite bathrooms, and a great hot tub :) Angela and John have thought of everything, from the warm welcome onwards! We had one minor problem with the internet following a short power cut in the local area, but they were very responsive and sorted it out quickly. The cottage is very well equipped and in a quiet, rural location. We had a great time - thank you Angela and John :)

The location is perfect for exploring Dorset and Devon, it's peaceful and calm. The property itself was immaculate and with the outdoor area was perfect for our family. The owners were so welcoming, kind and helpful. A rare gem nestled in an idyllic spot. We truly thank you both again for making our holiday so lovely.

Thank you for all of the things you did to make us feel so welcome. The property and location were ideal for us. You obviously work very hard to maintain such clean and well-equipped accommodation and it really is appreciated.

A beautiful and very comfortable property with wonderful views, we love hearing the sheep and our Grandaughter fell in love with the donkeys, we really enjoyed sitting in the lovely hot tub looking at the stars.

Had the best stay here.

I dont think I could ever get bored of the views and its so quiet. Although you can see Exeter airport you do not hear it. Angela and John are great and so friendly and happy to have a chat. The cottage is perfect, alot of attention to making it the ideal place to stay. Will definitely come back again, we are missing it already. Thanks again for such a wonderful stay

The animals being farmed are facinating and friendly. A perfect place to relax in or out of the hot tub. Well done Angela and John.

Sherway Shippen is a lovely holiday cottage and probably the best we have stayed at in the UK.

Beautifully furnished, very comfortable and with everything you could need for a relaxing stay. Comes with very nice host's as well. The cottage is in a beautiful location, high up with an amazing view to the south. Just wonderful to laze in the hot tub at the end of the day enjoying the view with a drink. Hope to come back some time.

We have used Sykes Cottages for many years and Sherway Shippen Cottage is of the highest standard.

The cleanliness, quality of fittings, spotless like it's brand new. A lot of care has gone into everything you needed for a restful stay. The views over the countryside from the hot tub are fantastic. It's a short drive to the main roads to go exploring. Angela and John the hosts are really friendly and welcoming always willing to have a chat and show their rescued donkeys and lambs when they can.

My husband and I had a lovely break at Sherway Shippen.

The cottage was comfortable and had everything we needed. We sat in the hot tub looking at the wonderful countryside views whilst listening/watching the sheep who were in a field just a stones throw away. It was bliss.

The cottage was beautiful and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The hosts were lovely and we will be booking to come back.

I've been staying in self catering places for 20 years and this is my absolute favourite.

The cottage was modern, warm, very clean, comfortable and you could tell it had really been well looked after. The woodwork, bathrooms, TVs etc were all of a really good quality. Small touches like binoculars and bird spotting books on the windows or bath and hand towels being colour coded to each person so you know which towel is yours make such a difference. The owners were very kind and despite having a busy farm to look after Angela took an hour out of her day to show my young girls the resident donkeys. Despite all of our days out this experience was the highlight for both of them! The situation is just wonderful. Only 5 mins to a main road and 15 mins to a small town / the M5 so you have good access when you want it the cottage feels like you're in the middle of nowhere. So quiet. So peaceful. The hot tub out front has the most stunning view across east Devon. Sitting in the hot tub of an evening watching a barn owl hunting was a magical experience. Great property, great owners, stunning location. By far the best Sykes property I've stayed in. Will be coming back. Recommended to anyone looking for a peaceful rural Devon holiday.

We have stayed in lots of places but this was amazing. Loads of parking, amazing views, donkeys and sheep to visit in the grounds. Free hot tub, free washing machine and tumble dryer, central heating on and the place warm and cozy. Beds so comfy, with towels and toiletries supplied in both en suites. TV's in both large bedrooms. Angela and John live on the premises, are very friendly (we spent a lot of time chatting
