    • “Overall 5 Beachdown was an excellent holiday rental for our family. However the first impressions of the site was not great. Your email sent 4 / 05 / 18 indicated that there was maintenance work progressing on site, when in fact there is construction of two additional properties in progress. This did not worry us other than the entrance and road is a bit rough. On reaching the property, again the first impressions were a little disappointing in that there are a number of weeds on the drive / parking area that really should be attended too and the front entrance needs a clean up. Internally the property was excellent and very well equipped, however the stair carpet could use a good clean as it was badly marked where I guess previous renters have spilled drinks carried down to the bedrooms and also the bathroom towels are a bit on the small side for anyone who has a large area to dry, but this is being picky. The location is great, the local shop well stocked and the beach lived up to expectation.”

The Property

In Challaborough, 150 yards up from the sandy, family-friendly Blue Flag beach, a stunning ultra-modern detached home, one of 12 newly built in a small, gated development. Challaborough Bay: popular sandy bay flanked by private homes, a family run holiday park, and good fish ‘n’ chip café (seasonal), ½ mile from the pretty village of Ringmore and its real ale pub. Bigbury-on-Sea and Burgh Island, ½ mile by coastal path, 3½ by car. Golf, 3 miles.

Regional Information

CHALLABOROUGH Ringmore is a small village in Devon, in the South Devon AONB, one mile from the secluded beach and stunning cliffs of Bigbury Bay. The Saxon church of All Hallows stands majestically overlooking this quintessentially English village with thatched cottages and a peaceful rural pace of life.

    Note: Until Spring 2019 work is being carried out on 2 properties at the entrance of the gated collection of houses. The work is over 100 metres from 5 Beachdown and is mainly internal, therefore any noise will be minimal. You are not able to see the work from the property and parking will not be affected. Working hours are Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm and half days on Saturdays.
