Comfortable, well appointed, clean, great location for walking our dog and accessing the estuary, walks, wildlife and beaches. It also has an off road parking space.

Helen “Lovely & clean place to stay, with top quality furnishings.”
Had everything we needed, plus more, including lots of information about places to visit which we found really useful! Clear instructions were available and great communication with the host. Would definitely stay again if in the area.
- Helen, August 2024Abigail “We had a lovely week at Topcliff.”
The cottage is immaculately presented and the beds very comfortable. Lots of places to eat within walking distance and Shaldon is a pretty little village.
- Abigail, May 2024Thank you so much for your kind comments about your stay at Topcliff Cottage. We so glad you enjoyed your holiday at the cottage and enjoyed all beautiful Shaldon. Property Owner
Kim “Wonderful cottage with very high spec.”
Fluffy big towels, plenty of hot water, very good quality crockery, cutlery etc Comfortable reclining chairs and the beds are comfortable too. The cottage has easy access to the estuary, pubs and shops.
- Kim, June 2023Alison “A lovely, well appointed, modern, bright and comfortable cottage.”
There were 3 of us plus one dog, and there was plenty of space.
- Alison, August 2022Gordon “Well presented and comfortable property.”
Has everything needed for a great self catering holiday. Ideal position in this lovely village.
- Gordon, May 2022Karen “The cottage was well maintained and clean.”
The owner did not scimp on furniture, crockery etc as it was all very good quality with high tech equipment. Everything worked well and it was lovely to have hot water all the time. I will certainly recommend it and hopefully return.
- Karen, September 2021Sarah “Cottage was absolutely lovely.”
Real attention to detail and extremely good quality. Perfect location.
- Sarah, August 2021Kirsty “Beautiful cottage well situated in Shaldon.”
Very nicely decorated with very modern equipment, only item missing was a BBQ. We would recommend for a week. It is very tight on space but this is to be expected with a period property.
- Kirsty, August 2021Anthea “Topcliff Cottage is a lovely place to stay.”
It is stylish and well maintained with a small but cleverly designed kitchen and a small private courtyard to relax in when you want to chill out. However, the parking space is pretty tricky unless you have a very small car and on street parking is not really an option. We both enjoyed the week we stayed there.
- Anthea, June 2021Carly “Great little cottage in a beautiful village.”
Supposed to sleep 4 but would have felt very cramped as rooms are small and cottagey. Perfect for 2. Everything we needed for a week away ( apart from toilet roll , only given 3/4 of a roll!) Fabulous shower comfy beds, sofas very low and not that comfortable. Lovely courtyard garden which was a suntrap. House perfectly situated opposite slipway to water, great for launching sup/ kayak. We loved shaldon, definitely the nicest bit of Torbay.
- Carly, May 2021Thank you for taking the time to leave this feedback. Many of our guests feel that the character of the property is enhanced by the 'cottagey' feel as described in the listing. Topcliff Cottage is a two bedroom property with the addition of the very popular 'kids den' room and as such is fully equipped for four people. We have taken a great deal of time and care to provide for our guests' needs, as we explained at the time, the toilet roll was an oversight for which we apologised. We have not received any complaints about the sofas previously, but as we're sure you are aware, comfort is an individual preference. We're pleased to hear that you enjoyed other aspects of Topcliff Cottage and hope you enjoyed your holiday. Property Owner
Robin “We had a wonderful week at top cliff cottage.”
It had all the mod cons, Uber comfortable bed loved the night light on the landings. Very tastefully decorated, and the window in the double room is beautiful with a glimpse of the sea. Didn't want to leave, felt like home from home!
- Robin, April 2021Christine “Topcliffe Cottage is equipped to an above average standard.”
It is extremely comfortable with great beds and sofas as well as a great shower and plenty of hot water and heating. I would not hesitate to recommend this cottage as a perfect place to stay. It is also very well situated being close by to pubs, shops, restaurants and the beach. Shaldon is a very pretty place having the benefit of both river and coast.
- Christine, September 2020Paul “Just had an excellent week's holiday at Topcliff Cottage.”
The Location is perfect for taking advantage of Shaldon village; its gentle seaside atmosphere, the great swimming beach, shops, cafe and wildlife zoo. The cottage itself is decorated and fitted out to a very high spec, we especially appreciated the technology available along with the fantastic WiFi speed and reliability. Many thanks.
