    “This was a wonderful lodge.”

    We were taken aback by the quality of the cabin, which was of a Swedish design, and absolutely beautiful. Inside no expense has been spared with the facilities. The host, Gary, was friendly and accommodating. Views from the lodge were stunning open hills and fields. Wonderful holiday and we will return for certain. One note is to follow the instructions to get there or else the satnav will take you down even narrower lanes!

Hittisleigh is a small, rural hamlet set in mid Devon, located a couple of miles north of the A30 between Exeter and Okehampton. The hamlet is home to the Parish Church of St Andrews, built in the early medieval time with many later historic features such as reputedly the oldest church bells in Devon. Three miles away lies the hamlet of Whiddon Down, home to a fine pub, whilst further afield is the market town of Okehampton, where visitors can explore the ruins of Okehampton Castle, a prominent landmark and testament to the town’s medieval past, or explore several galleries and workshops that celebrate the creativity of local artists. The spectacular Dartmoor National Park is easily accessible and boasts a myriad of walking and hiking trails, spanning through unspoiled countryside and local wildlife.
