“Upon walking into The Grottoes we were very impressed.”

A lovely view from the large living room over-looking the harbour. Would be better if you could open the main windows which were locked instead of the small side windows as it was very hot weather during our stay (not sure if this is for health & safety reasons). Also has a lovely large garden with nice swing seat. A ten minute walk into the town which is nice although the streets are very steep. The kitchen was lovely and looked new with almost everything that you could want. The property is ...

The property is advertised as parking for two small cars – I think this would only be possible if they were Smart cars. Looking at previous reviews we stayed following a refurb – which was obvious upon a closer look. Needs more attention to detail – things like radiators propped up with blocks of wood isn’t fantastic and woodwork poorly finished. And also agree that it isn’t quite finished. There were many issues with the cleanliness of the property. The following points are my personal opinions and things that I consider would make the property much better. I would say that the property is more of a dogs are allowed rather than dog friendly. This could be easily solved by adding gates to the garden areas to keep the dogs enclosed in certain areas instead of having free roam around the whole outside of the house which includes two sets of metal staircases Stronger/better fans are definitely needed due to the size of the rooms. Bath robes or large towels are always provided in properties with hot-tubs that we have stayed in. This would have been much better as there is only direct access to one bathroom/bedroom from the hot-tub, you either have to walk from the back of the house to the front or up/down two flights of stairs to the next bedroom/bathroom which isn’t ideal when you are soaking wet and only small towels are provided. The games room definitely need upgrading and equipment replacing. The view from the hot-tub would be much better if the wooden fence was replaced with glass panels and the shrubs cut to a lower height, such a shame that you can’t see such a lovely view when you’re in the hot tub. The door seal on the ensuite shower is broken which results in the bathroom being flooded. Which resulted in me mopping and on my hands and knees cleaning – not ideal when I’m on holiday. Various building materials are left inside and outside of the property. Overall a nice property but with attention to detail could be better. Best part is the lovely view.
